This right here is the sort of person that usually wants to be a mod. This is what the poor admins have got support.
-
I'm a raging nerd and have been a bit of a forum addict most of my life. When I was in my mid and late teens, a friend and I set up a "zero moderation" message board for an online game we played and it's community. It got pretty big within the context of what was a fairly niche game and then it got notorious af. It was drama central. People just cannot behave themselves. We let everything go and we got flamed to hell any time we dared lock or delete anything because it was completely against the wild west attitude of the board. It was, in hindsight, one of the most unhealthy and toxic spaces I've ever seen on the internet, it was carnage Left to their own devices, the anonymity of the internet turns almost everyone in to a complete cvnt eventually. It's lord of the flies with even less consequences. I'm genuinely bored of hearing people trying to convince Mark every couple of weeks to allow conversations about this or that particularly hot topic. Because invariably he does because as much as a lot of you like to stereotype him as some sort of authoritarian ego tripping fascist, he's actually the opposite. Mark is a ridiculously sweet and helpful human being who just wants you all to enjoy this place without getting him sued for posting libelous or offensive shit or having the limited advertising revenue pulled because of the amount of abuse on here. And every single time he goes "oh alright then, talk about it but just keep it in this space and keep it civil" eventually someone whips their dick out and pisses all over everyone. And then you'll get "oh but Mark most of us were just chatting and being reasonable don't let one or two ruin it sadfaceemoji" like it's the admins that are the arseholes. Take it from someone that used to moderate this place (lol I know right), it's fvcking exhausting. You're not paid for this shit and all you get all day is just spammed with constant DMs from people who take the internet too seriously (and jesus god you realise just how many of them there are, I promise you you don't understand until you do it) coming snitching to you crying because someone disagreed with them. Until your inbox is full. And so to make it worse, the only people left that want to actually be mods are exactly the sort of people that shouldn't be allowed to be. Nobody with a brain wants to try and police you ungrateful, unruly lot. So honestly, I don't think you're owed any more transparency. Frankly, I find it pretty obvious why stuff gets deleted and locked. 90% of the time you know exactly why before you go running off to Suggestions & Help to passive aggressively ask.

Translation: @Alf Bentley you can take that extensively researched and intelligently summarised argument and stick it up your arse because, anecdotally, BlueBrett knows all local authorities are corrupt. Jesus fvcking christ. It baffles me that it's 2023 and people are finally starting to see this Tory government for what it is - incompetent and self serving - yet bizarrely people still have this weird blind spot for local councils. They've been treated the same way as Trade Unions for decades now in the media, this constant erosion and undermining of public confidence largely because the Tories just want to be able to sell everything off and stamp out all government without public outcry. Public perception of councils is always hilariously miles off the mark. Yeah they're not flawless, no business is, wherever you live I guarantee your local council has probably made the odd stupid decision or wasted money but then find me a business that hasn't. As @westernpark has just alluded to, the simple truth is that there's a greater need than ever for council services right now (the REAL council services, the important shit, the stuff most of you ignore because it's not roads and bicycle paths - housing, social services, the shit that actually protects the most vulnerable residents) and yet at the same time they've never had so little money to do it because central government are assassinating their budget every year by massive amounts. Not that Rishi is going to care because the grandmother with dementia, the severely learning disabled and the rough sleeping addicts with complex needs? They don't tend to vote.

Bottom 3 PL..How do LCFC prevent this , next season…
Finnegan replied to fuchsntf's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm genuinely not even vaguely worried. We'd beat most of the bottom four or five now. We're a better side currently, we'll probably have the finances to invest properly when we go up, we've shown signs that we've turned a corner in terms of our transfer intelligence and we've got a significantly better coaching team than any of last year's promoted sides. I wouldn't swap Enzo for Kompany in a month or Sundays and I'd bet my house right now that he goes on to have a far more impressive career. More chance of us going back up and being top half than getting relegated and I mean that sincerely.- 115 replies

He'd be wasted for England unless a quality manager is going to rock up with him. He'd be useless playing Southgateball which is exactly why half the world thinks or thought he's shite.
-
I wouldn't really. Not when those 14 men are the All Blacks and it's a world cup semi final and particularly when you're a defence orientated team with a 7-1 split. I said earlier in the week this game would be decided by a refs decision or a mistake or a freak moment because the two teams are so ridiculously close. That's pretty much what's happened. Do I think South Africa were a bit underwhelming? Yes. But that often happens in finals in every sport. That absolutely doesn't make them undeserving winners which I think is a very harsh term.
-
I dont agree. There's no such thing as an undeserving tournament winner at this level (except in 2003 maybe ) I probably leaned towards wanting NZ to win. But not South Africa's fault Sam Cane shoulder charged a player in the face (which he did) and not South Africa's fault their hooker got crippled by a pretty nasty bit of illegal play early on. You can only play the game you find yourself in and SA were excellent. They barely coughed up a point and the only try they conceded probably should have been chalked off as it came from what might have been Barnes only real mistake of the night. New Zealand have been below their own standards for most of this world cup cycle and even today their handling and execution was suspect and they lacked a lot of answers for South Africa's defence even after securing set piece ball where the extra man ceased to matter. But probably want to enjoy it while it lasts because a Razor lead All Blacks is a fvcking terrifying prospect and I wouldn't mind a cheeky punt they go back to back themselves at the next two world cups.

Definitely love seeing Siya win. Definitely hate seeing Rassie win.
-
Oh ALB. That knock on has lost it.
-
Love a bit of D Mac magic to win this now.
-
Was our Chief Exec. Left in 2011. Went to Burnley then QPR.
-
They did not. Or hang on..
-
Massive shame that. Would have been superb for the game and it was a fantastic try. Could do with NZ scoring a try before Siya comes back or I feel this is over.
-
There's enough mitigation for me that. The kiwis will be screaming for this to be upgraded but I think this is only yellow.
-
Probably a bit early to be honest mate.
-
How old ARE you!?
-
It's definitely a "world cup final free pass" if he stays on. I dont want to see anyone sent off in this game but it has to be.
-
But he's not a victim if he was wrong about what he heard. Without wanting to put words in your mouth it feels like you're trying to have one of those generic moans about how nobody takes racism towards us poor white people seriously. But if Bongi did just issue an instruction to his team mates in his own language and Curry misunderstood that then that's Curry's problem. And to be clear, the RFU have claimed it's happened in both the last two SA Eng games. What makes more sense, that Bongi, playing for a team that is the embodiment of rugby's fight against racism, with half a team full of white team mates, was stupid enough to be openly, loudly racist to an opposition player not once but twice? And not only that but using an insult that no south African would actually use? OR that Bongi shouts "wide side" in his own language to his own team fairly often which is a reasonably common thing to shout in either warning or instruction on a rugby pitch? Curry isn't a victim. At best, he's misunderstood and made an unfair judgement about an opposing player. At worst, he's being snide to try and get an opponent sent off and the way he's gone about it in such a backhanded, snitchy say "Sir, what do I do if...." really doesn't reflect well on him at all either. If I really thought an opponent had racially abused me on the pitch, I wouldn't be creeping up to the ref asking indirect, facetious questions I'd straight up be saying "ref, Bongi just called me a white cvnt, I want you to do something about it. Now." PS: that's a red card.

"It's got to go forwards for it to be a knock on" Excellent sass there Mr. Barnes
-
Sam Warburton's love of his sport is absolutely infectious. Gutted he had to retire earlier but really glad that he got in to comms. Absolute joy to listen to.
-
He was accused of something with absolutely no evidence, what audio there is makes it look like Curry running to the ref because he misheard some Afrikaans. South Africa have some hilariously bias fans but I actually do believe them when pretty much all of them without fail have said that South Africans just don't even fvcking use cvnt as an insult it just made no sense. The abuse of Curry is shameful (above mentioned terrible SA fans in action) but so is the assassination of Bongi's character and the way the RFU have carried on treating him guilty regardless of any evidence.
-
For game as a spectacle I really hope that's not a red. Don't personally think he intended that.
-
I will never, ever forget Nige saying to him (Vards) in a pre season training video "there's always one... and it's always you."
