I don't think either of those things is necessary. I'm not telling you we will or won't get 100pts. I'm saying discussing it in the first week of October hums of pride, arrogance and a lack of class and we should all maybe wind our necks in a bit and at least get to Christmas before making these sorts of predictions.
-
Obviously it would be extremely disappointing if this squad and manager didn't get automatic promotion after what they've demonstrated so far and I'm quietly confident we will be in or around the top two come May barring a disaster. I dont have an objection to people acknowledging we're favourites. But sitting here predicting 100pt hauls before we've played even half the teams in the league once? C'mon.

I really don't like how much we're getting dragged in to this sort of arrogance after only a few games. Yes, we've looked largely a step above everyone we've player so far (including Southampton and Norwich) but pride comes before the fall etc and it's a long season. We're only an injury to Winks or Hermansen away from having to completely refine our plan or face a considerable drop in performance. I can't see the squad having the same complacency but still I don't think this is a great look on us as fans.

Random / Semi Unheard of Players you’ve spotted that we should look at
Finnegan replied to Sly's topic in Transfer Talk
He was but he also came to more mainstream attention for a short spell when Santos went on their run to the Copa Libertadores final and the BBC were showing every game. Lots of people talking about him and sharing his highlights on social media. Got loads of hype for a move to Europe and was linked to loads of people (possibly tenuously including us at some point?) but ended up going to the MLS instead. -
They don't have anything like this drama with VAR in other leagues. Funny that the league with the most money invested in it by unscrupulous billionaires has the most problems with having it's officiating come under close scrutiny from VAR.

In fairness these people are still traumatised from watching Daniel Amartey and Danny Ward trying it.

I assume you mean Sebastian Ferreira The little shit showboating is Yeferson Soltado. I think he's been in the "fantasy signings" thread before. Tbf Ferreira is a bit shit. He's your generic goal every four games lump, currently on loan from the MLS. -
What, proper fvcked?

Okay so, today's goal was an error yes. Hermansen should have seen that Winks was under too MUCH pressure. That was obviously suicidal and it wasn't a great pass anyway, obviously that's an error. But yes, we do deliberately pass to Winks when he's being closed down and yes it's part of the plan. The best way to think about us is basically as the matadors of the league. We are deliberately baiting teams, we want them to come forward, to press us right up in to our box and we're backing the skill of Hermansen, Vestergaard and Winks to then be able to combine to beat the press and from there we can counter attack. That's the plan. It's a good plan, it's a plan that works, it's a plan that creates goals for us and helps get us up the pitch. As with a matador though, when you make a mistake and get caught you get fvcked. It's high risk, high reward. People were bored shitless watching Rodgers football, they wanted more excitement but Top still wanted us to play possession football. This is what the compromise looks like. Personally I like it. It's a way of getting old school Leicester Cavalier counter attacking but still keeping the ball. I think we're cracking to watch frankly but yeah sometimes it's gonna go wrong.

Best goal difference in the league now too
-
This definitely feels a bit like a game we could throw away. Loss of control.
-
That would have been THE moment to choose Daka over Iheanacho really. Not only are we leading and needing to counter but we've just lost a winger's pace.
-
That is shit Ffs that'll be a couple months
-
Wilf doing step overs
-
PASS IT TO STEPHY FFS
-
They're probably the two best players in the league in their respective positions. If they get it in sync they're gonna be immense.
-
There you go. Hermansen plays the same pass, we beat the press, it takes three men out of the game, we go up the other end and win a corner.
-
KDH man. I swear he has a phobia of passing to Mavididi. Just get it away to him ffs.
-
Low key one of my favourite things about him. Love it when you've got a flair player that puts a shift in defensively. He does graft.
-
Decent chance they'd always be subbed anyway. Imagine we'll see both Yunus and McAteer at some point
-
World. Fvcking. Class
-
Oh right yeah that's what he did wrong. He should have passed it more accurately. You should tell him that he might not have realised.
-
I'm not really sure what you're expecting. You don't make one mistake and then immediately change the approach. We'll almost certainly keep playing risky passes like that at the back for the rest of the game, it's the whole plan, bait them out and counter. They're going to be drawn out even further up now that it's worked for them. Yes Hermansen has been a bit sloppier today. People are going to have off days sometimes. It happens.
-
I'm not denying it's a mistake. But acting like it's some heinous unforgivable crime when he's doing exactly what the game plan is is over the top. Everyone was bored of Rodgers football, nobody wanted that. So we've increased the risk and reward, it's working, we're playing well this season. But that's the risk. You get out what you put in.
