She really is a top 5, all time, British politics cvnt.

I'd say that's a chicken and egg question though really. Is there a cult because she's the biggest pop singer in America or is she the biggest pop singer in America because of the cult? Her fanbase definitely aren't just big, they're also weird af.

We actually do have alright cover to be honest. Even if footedness is a problem, we can just flip it so that Ricky goes and does his inverted role from left back instead and Faes or JJ can do the Doyle role from the right. It's really not that big a drama. A couple weeks ago some of the bed wetters on here were calling for Doyle to be dropped anyway ffs. It's obviously disappointing news but we've got Souttar and Coady at the club who can play as conventional centre backs and Hamza and JJ who can fill in as inverted full backs. I'd be way more concerned if someone like Winks or Hermansen was hurt.

Are people assuming it's an ACL purely because a man speaking in his second language said "long time" when we've got no perspective at all on what he think constitutes "long" or is this based on other information? Given the lack of like for like replacement, he might think 7 or 8 weeks is a "long time".

You know the BBC website has jumped the shark when you scroll through the sports news and know that Taylor fvcking Swift is dating an NFL player. Are we Americans now? Ferchrissakes it needs a new editor desperately.

Do your time on the naughty step, put a shift in training, don't complain, contribute to good squad atmosphere, have Vardy and Nacho's back without complaining, display loyalty. We play a one striker system and we have three. Iheanacho and Vardy didn't ask to leave or ask not to play, which by all accounts Daka seems to have. Right now we don't have enough fixture congestion or injuries to justify making one of those two sit out. Daka will get his time and I'll be glad when he does, I like him and I think he has a lot to offer. But I don't think he can moan yet that he's not had a game when the window closed only a few match days ago.

I dont think it's about skill set. Maresca isn't just a better tactician and coach than Rodgers on evidence so far, he also seems to be a better man manager. He's fostering a really good atmosphere in the squad, trying to get everyone's buy in and making them happy to turn up and train and play. Obviously one challenge then will be re-integrating Daka and Souttar now we're basically stuck with them but doing so will be a balancing act. It would be unfair and inappropriate to award Daka with immediate selection at the expense of Vardy and Iheanacho. They have to be ahead of him right now, sometimes it's about more than just football. He's got to earn his way back.

His knowledge of Northern hemisphere is terrible. He gets a whole bunch of stuff wrong about Wales but he's deeply knowledgeable about the Wallabies and the Aussie Super Rugby teams. And yeah I'm not sure what my read on him is. He's definitely super passionate but I'm not sure if he's doing a bit or if he's a tiny bit irregular. I love the bits where he just stares at the camera for an uncomfortably long time

I'm already extremely underwhelmed by the quality of memes and banter on there. Makes foxestalk transfer section look funny.

I made the mistake of joining r/Championship out of curiosity. Fvcking hell. It's just all 99% Sunderland fans wanking themselves off over how much they're apparently pissing the league and how massive they are. It gives me massive vibes of this meme: It's been so long since we were in the same league I actually forgot how annoying their online fanbase are.

People, Cov are 19th with one win. They're fvcking shit. They looked dangerous because we were very under cooked and it was our first ever competitive game trying to play a brand new defensive system. They've also sold their one good player since then who was a motm candidate on that day.
-
You know what, I'll put my hand up here, I forgot about that part. I remember them doing the draw in December and completely spaced on when the rankings were taken from. Makes far more sense. My bad folks.

He's right and laughing at him for it is an intensely dick move.

Our pool probably wouldn't be any different. We (Australia, Wales, Fiji) were 6th, 9th and 11th in December 20 and 6th, 9th and 14th in December 22. If anything we might have gotten an easier group with someone like Samoa or Italy instead of Fiji because the Fijians dropped in the rankings over the last few years. It'd be a pretty valid question to ask why the highest ranked nation is 6th when there's only 4 pools but that would have been the case whether the draw was made when it was or when it should have been. And like I said, Scotland's ranking was the same in 20 and 22 so they'd probably have wound up in the same pool. The bigger issue for me isn't when it was drawn. Even at the time or the draw, New Zealand and France were 3rd and 4th, they shouldn't have been in the same pool. Edit: so just to be 100% clear, my argument isn't that the draw is particularly good or fair, it's that the timing of it is overblown and overly focused on when, in fact, even at the time it was shit and it probably wouldn't have changed massively if done two years later.

Did have to laugh, was giving a bit of banter to SH fans on social. But actually do still think there's a distinct chance of a NZ - SA final after all of this I fancy South Africa to beat France, especially a France with no Ntamack and Dupont either absent or injured. Ireland - New Zealand goes one of two ways for me. Either Faz Snr gets it absolutely spot on with the balance in the build up and gets Ireland the most pumped they've ever been, really go out there flying, lots of fans, big backing, finally determined to put the QF hoodoo behind them and go out and make a limp Fozzy All Blacks look mid tier with a 20+ point win. ... or they bottle it My best hope for Wales is the latter with Ireland doing what England did in the semi last time and just absolutely gassing themselves, burning it all a round before and then losing the subsequent game. If we get NZ in the semi let's be honest we all know how that's going.

I've had this conversation with a few people but I do think a lot was made of the timing of the draw that's a little bit over the top. Scotland in particular love a moan about it but they were in exactly in the same place in the rankings in December 2020 (when the draw was made) as they were in December 2022 (when it probably should have been made.) England and Ireland having opposite fortunes is probably the only major change so I can understand the Irish being grumpy about having to play the world champions and Scotland but eh. Let's say they were reversed and Ireland had your group, they'll still have wound up having a semi final with France or South Africa. Doesn't make a massive difference at the end. And you'd have fancied your chances still getting out of a group with Scotland in it and Scotland would probably still be going home. And we'd still have had Fiji and Australia because, let's be honest, we get them in like every fvcking world cup

We banked a lot of the money from transfers this summer. Obviously we've got a lot of losses to cover with the relegation but I imagine there's a not insignificant pot there to deal with contract extensions. The manager is clearly going to want to keep Vestergaard and Ndidi as a minimum, think the club would happily extend Iheanacho even if only to make sure we get money if/when he leaves, honestly wouldn't surprise me entirely if Choudhury ends up with a new contract too. Akgun and Fatawu have asterisks next to them, we've got obligations on both. I can see us buying Doyle if we go up, or at very least getting a second loan.

Unless I'm forgetting something obvious, quarter finals all but sorted now no? Wales vs Argentina Plays winner of Ireland vs New Zealand England vs Fiji Plays winner of South Africa vs France

Yeah but tbh better for the developing nations to be there and to be treated somewhat less fairly on the scheduling than to not be there at all.
-
Oh and by the way - Northern Hemisphere teams gonna win every group. NH gang unite 💪
