Our strongest 11 now we know our squad.
Finnegan replied to jayfox26's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don't think we'll let Faes or Daka go until January, to be honest. I think that's it now. Doesn't look like Cifuentes entirely trusts Nelson yet and Souttar is still a way off. At the other end, Carranza hasn't kicked a ball yet and would be the only recognised striker on the books if Daka goes. -
So how are we all feeling now the window has closed.

Just watch a few clips. He's very obviously not 5'9 -

Yeah I think fans probably need to get used to the fact there's a lot more Faes to come. He's probably still out best centre back if people can put their personal feelings aside. I acknowledge that says more about our squad building than his ability. I think he'll get his starting place back alongside Vestergaard now the window is closed. Tbh, I hope Winks does too and I know that'll be unpopular as well. With JJ giving us a bit of strength in the middle I hope we can drop Bouba and properly get Winks back on board. Again, however unpopular he is, he's just better than the alternatives. -

Impossible to say because two of our signings are unknown quantities. The "dream" is probably: Stolarczyk Ricardo, Nelson, Vestergaard, Thomas Winks, JJ Fatawu, Ramsey, Mavididi Carranza I have a suspicion next game will probably be: Stolarczyk Hamza, Okoli, Vestergaard, Thomas Soumare, JJ Fatawu, Ramsey, Ayew Carranza Or if Ramsey isn't deemed ready, Fatawu, Ayew, Mavididi. -
I'm normally all for listening to fans of other clubs but this is the saltiest shit I've heard in ages. This is saltier than Leicester fans pretending Bilal is crap. JJ walks back in to their team in a heart beat. They're probably the worst team we've played this year so far.

that one's in Mexico now

Hard to say until we see Carranza and Ramsey in action. Before deadline day I couldn't see us threatening the top two at all and I wouldn't have even put money on us being top six. But if these three bring some enthusiasm and optimism to the squad and if Carranza turns out to be the tidy finisher we hope, with Fatawu, Monga, Ramsey and Mavididi setting him up? There's definitely potential there. With the window closed, we might also get the likes of Faes and Winks back on board. I don't give a shit what the fans think of them or how much people are sulking about them, they are potential match winners at this level whether you like it or not and if Cifuentes can get them in the mood we'll be looking good. I'd say I'm settling on cautiously optimistic. That'll probably shatter when JJ does his acl on international duty, Ramsey turns out to be nowhere near ready for a return and Carranza makes Ayew look like Pele. -
Hard to say until we see what Ramsey and Carranza are going to be like and how much Cifuentes takes to them. With the supply he'll get from Fatawu alone, Carranza could have a very solid year but he could also be a flop and it's the most important position we needed to recruit for. JJ is a known quantity and if we really can sign him for €5m that is frankly bonkers. Even twice that wouldn't be unreasonable. I don't think he's quite as good as some of our fans are hyping him up in their heads but he's definitely very solid at this level and better than what we have. Especially compared to Skipp for 25m. I'd say maybe 6/10 at the moment? We've done no harm to ourselves, we've potentially added profitable value and we've reinforced in key areas without much expense. But let's not kid ourselves, this SHOULD be barely par.
-
L'equipe said five, and I think that was in euros, but it's not been reported elsewhere I don't think? €5m is frankly ridiculous. To be honest. If he has the season he could have for us this year he could easily be a 12-15m footballer.
-
A brace albeit the second took a massive deflection and iirc he might have accidentally set up our first. It was an all round decent performance though. Took the first really well.

I mean... they are only loans

Tom Collomosse is one of the more credible journalists that report on Leicester.
-
It's not even just that, there's no deadline on when we have to announce it. Could take hours after a deal is completed to actually announce. They'll want to take pictures with him holding a shirt, do an interview, all that press shit. Doesn't mean the paperwork wasn't done hours ago.
-
He actually posted the same tweet in two different threads at the exact same time. 10 seconds before Tom Collomosse posted it.

Competent ones? Sure:

For what it's worth, I definitely had "a transfer is still pending at 7pm and forum melts down" on my bingo card.
-
Honestly if I was the club, I'd announce it tomorrow for a laugh and just watch this place meltdown as entertainment.

He's a youtuber. Think he's mates with Strider? Some of their analysis is alright but not particularly convinced they're very ITK? Get the impression they aggregate somewhat.

Julián Carranza joins on loan - Official
Finnegan replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
The most significant comments from Feyenoord describe him as a good finisher just with a slightly lacking all round game for them. Not sure who needs to hear this but Feyenoord are a better side than we are right now, taking the cast offs isn't really a major problem. Their league might not be the Prem but it's still better than the Championship, to which the MLS is probably more comparable in quality. Carranza will be as good or bad as our ability to make chances for him. His problems here, if he has them, aren't likely to be him lacking the quality but us just lacking the ability to consistently create for him. Hopefully that's not the case if we wrap up all our other business today. -
Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)

Why are you all still bumping this? I'm not gonna lock it, seems pointless, but we're very obviously not selling another centre back today? -
I did wonder
-
It's definitely a bit wild we've waited til deadline day to do Carranza. Surely Bilal's wage off the books isn't the only thing that stood between us being able to bring in one loan signing or not. So given the need for a striker, I do agree that one is wild. But I'm guessing Ramsey was only going to be moved on if / when we got BEK wrapped up so that's why that one is so late. And there's still a chance that actually JJ isn't coming at all beacuse we were only going to sign him if Soumare went to Milan which clearly isn't happening.
-
Yeah absolutely. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if one or both of Ramsey & James don't get done in time. But it also wouldn't surprise me if we announce both in the next 30, 40 minutes and some of you are having meltdowns over nothing.
-
I think it's pretty obvious why we've done it this year. We've left it as late as we can in the window because we're trying to sell as many people as possible. Even at this short notice, we'd still probably sell Faes, Soumare, Daka and maybe a couple of others if a big enough bid came in. This whole window has been about selling as many people as possible and then trying to do loan deals on deadline day when we knew what our final position was. The club's transfer business has, indeed, been appalling on the whole for quite a few years now but, tbf, given the circumstances I don't think there's been much wrong with this window.
