For what it's worth, I definitely had "a transfer is still pending at 7pm and forum melts down" on my bingo card.
-
Honestly if I was the club, I'd announce it tomorrow for a laugh and just watch this place meltdown as entertainment.

He's a youtuber. Think he's mates with Strider? Some of their analysis is alright but not particularly convinced they're very ITK? Get the impression they aggregate somewhat.

Julián Carranza joins on loan - Official

The most significant comments from Feyenoord describe him as a good finisher just with a slightly lacking all round game for them. Not sure who needs to hear this but Feyenoord are a better side than we are right now, taking the cast offs isn't really a major problem. Their league might not be the Prem but it's still better than the Championship, to which the MLS is probably more comparable in quality. Carranza will be as good or bad as our ability to make chances for him. His problems here, if he has them, aren't likely to be him lacking the quality but us just lacking the ability to consistently create for him. Hopefully that's not the case if we wrap up all our other business today. -
Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)

Why are you all still bumping this? I'm not gonna lock it, seems pointless, but we're very obviously not selling another centre back today? -
I did wonder
-
It's definitely a bit wild we've waited til deadline day to do Carranza. Surely Bilal's wage off the books isn't the only thing that stood between us being able to bring in one loan signing or not. So given the need for a striker, I do agree that one is wild. But I'm guessing Ramsey was only going to be moved on if / when we got BEK wrapped up so that's why that one is so late. And there's still a chance that actually JJ isn't coming at all beacuse we were only going to sign him if Soumare went to Milan which clearly isn't happening.
-
Yeah absolutely. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if one or both of Ramsey & James don't get done in time. But it also wouldn't surprise me if we announce both in the next 30, 40 minutes and some of you are having meltdowns over nothing.
-
I think it's pretty obvious why we've done it this year. We've left it as late as we can in the window because we're trying to sell as many people as possible. Even at this short notice, we'd still probably sell Faes, Soumare, Daka and maybe a couple of others if a big enough bid came in. This whole window has been about selling as many people as possible and then trying to do loan deals on deadline day when we knew what our final position was. The club's transfer business has, indeed, been appalling on the whole for quite a few years now but, tbf, given the circumstances I don't think there's been much wrong with this window.
-
It's pretty obviously three, if we get them done in time. Ramsey, James, Carranza. We do everything one at a time and it wouldn't be the first time we've tried to complete a deal on deadline day and haven't had time to complete it if we fall short. I'd be extremely, extremely surprised if anyone other than those three come in.

The average Flemish Belgian probably has a higher English reading age than any of you lot educated in Leicester city schools tbf. Especially those of you off the Monsell. I'd ask chatgpt to improve the literacy by a good 50% at least if you want to pass.

Don't pretend hfaes isn't you

Daily Record repeating it for advertising clicks doesn't make it any less dumb. We aren't signing him.

Viva Cuba close enough right? -
@StanSP Doubt it's worth a new thread. Almost certainly completely rubbish from a non source.
-
No mention yet but it might be surprising. Burnley probably want to see how he's recovered from his injury before they properly give him a value. You never know though.
-
Yeah, we're expecting to do loan deals today for Julian Carranza an Argentine striker from Feyenoord, Jordan James the centre mid who Rennes got from Birmingham last year and Aaron Ramsey, young attacking midfielder from Burnley who has had some injury issues. We'll probably have either options or obligations on JJ And Carranza. Not sure about Ramsey.
-
I mean it's pretty obvious three deals are in the process of happening?
-
You absolutely did not under any circumstances because I'm pretty sure you were having that argument with me and Daka's output was vastly, vastly better. Daka has been an overwhelming disappointment and an objectively failed transfer. I'm not arguing otherwise. But the idea he's been worse than Akinbiyi is absurd hyberbole.

I can't believe you have the audacity to question the validity of EFLanalysis_

It's our entire operating method. This is what happens when your dof has no idea how to do that job.

Why would he ever want to play for Rodgers again
-
What Percy said was "Betis have not got near that valuation." We're all acting like they've offered just shy of 10 and we're being unreasonable. For all we know they've offered less than whatever is left of his amortisation plus his bonus. They could very well have offered us something that'd represent a loss. Especially given we'll have to offset the fact they won't be able to afford to pay him as much as we do. We also might think there's Saudi interest.
-
I mean, there's going to be something wrong with most of the players we sign now, aren't there? We can't afford to pay for known quantities so we have to take some gambles. Just be pleasantly surprised that they're all appearing to be loans, most with decent cheap options and for the most part look like they'll be pretty sellable for profit if they prove themselves. This looks like one of our most sensible windows in a long time if we get it all wrapped up.
