  2. You actually noticed your wife had a hair cut which is surely a positive?
  3. Allow me to begin the dusting.
  4. Those bellends on the street tonight do.
  5. It's like deja vu all over again.
  6. Comparisons between the case studies she raises in "The Origins of Totalitarianism" and what we see today from nations we'd consider above such things is worrying.
  7. Think it will change rapidly. It's a strange thought that Google could potentially become irrelevant in a short space of time. The idea of "Googling" something and then clicking a link is already sounding archaic compared to the LLM approach of asking a question and getting an answer. Great for convenience, but terrifying when there's idea where the information is coming from. OpenAI and Microsoft are already generating ai derived news content for media organisations in exchange for their archive of data to train models on. Again, in the near term I can see much of the "fluffy" news content would be automatically generated. Now there's actual competition between Chat GPT and Llama etc., I can see massive leaps with the benefits and detriments associated with the risk taking. Even professionally I'm starting to see some big changes. The "capability" of teams to automatically take minutes from teams meetings for instance has caused the death of me sending the graduate into meetings to take notes and listen in. Organisations I've worked with have already binned off lots of their data analysts which was a professions recently I thought was something on the rise and demand. Interesting times...
  8. Agree with Daggers. The money you'll save will also get you a coffee machine upgrade. Win win.
  9. Free poster for winning too. Decent merch
  10. Tell that to the buggers who got me for two weeks of JSA I wasn't entitled to in my youth.
  11. My gran used to give us her winter allowance, said she didn't need it. Crazy they just give cash to people that isn't means tested.
  12. You like it? I use Trackman a lot at my range (waaay too much for home) for shot data rather than playing the courses. How is it for that kind of stuff?
  13. I imagine these pensioners would suffer more from the doctors packing in than losing the fuel allowance.

    The gym

I used to go the Nuffield gym and it was nice but so expensive. It also seemed to have a higher proportion of d**k heads who just sit on equipment on their phones that used to drive me up the wall. I use the Coalville and Whitwick one as do swimming most mornings. Equipment is fine and I think you can access other Everyone Active gyms too (worth checking) just in case you thought the extra drive was worth it for the newer kit. They usually offer free passes to have a look around so give them a go. If not, I get a free guest pass that is never used that you're welcome to. Easy to be snooty at the council gyms, but the Coalville one is legit nicer than the Nuffield one.
  15. Have to let us know how it gets on, always been tempted to try and get one set up myself but never got around to it. Did pull the trigger on some i525s today though.
  16. Social media is still media and these platforms need to be enforced in the same way as journalists and other broadcast media. If Musk and co. want their platforms to be homes for "citizen journalists", they need to abide by the media and news regulators. If I wrote an opinion piece for a newspaper or news outlet which was basically extreme misogyny or racism, the argument from these outlets that "it was merely an individuals opinion" wouldn't wash for a second. Same standards needs to be applied to these companies. They enforce these things when they have their feet to the coals, so the old "it's impossible to enforce" is tosh as far as I'm concerned.
  17. Must... Resist... The... Urge.
  18. FIA safety stuff I'd presume. They don't want cars running around with tyres worn down to their threads. George showed that there was little reduction in pace at the cost of having a tyre go pop.
  19. Car + driver (why they hop on the scales after a race) has to be at least a certain weight (800kg ish I think) as the regulations demand they weight that for safety reasons. George staying out for so long meant the tyres had degraded so much, that the amount of rubber lost dropped the car below the limit. Was avoidable if they'd had either put new tyres on, or put more weight in the car at the start. Nobody ever one stops here so was a bit of an unforeseen issue. You don't see it as often now, but you used to see drivers driving on the shitty parts of the tracks after the race has finished to collect as much debris onto the tyres as possible to increase their weight.
  20. Puddings who just drive down the middle of it?
  21. Nobody expected the one stop to work, was just a punt that worked. Not sure they screwed him over at all. Classic that we finally start to see different teams winning just as the next big reg changes come in.
  22. An alleged altercation between passengers from Qatar Airways flight QR023, which arrived at 19:20 BST, which occurred either during the flight or in the T2 baggage hall A "violent disturbance" involving members of the public in T2 Starbucks at approximately 20:22 The alleged assault of three police officers which occurred in the T2 car park pay point area at 20:28 and resulted in the officers receiving head injuries, including a broken nose
  23. Looks to me like they approached to arrest them and one of the guys punched the officer from the side.
