I had a feeling the subject of these guys would come up on here at some point. As someone who grew up with pretty much the same background as Kneecap, I've always been confused by whey they are seen as modern day rebels their marketing machine perceives them to be. The biggest political party is nationalist. The First Minister is nationalist. Nationalists are the majority across Northern Ireland/North of Irleand. Job opportunity are a lot more equal than they were and the economy is bouyant for all communities. The British government would probably agree to a referendum to an united Ireland if it meant no civil unrest from unionist but there's no way the unrest, to put it bluntly, wouldn't happen. Ironically it would be working class unionists they claim to back to an extent. Despite what people see in English media there are still so many unionist strongholds. The troubles finished before most of them were born or too young to remember so I'm happy these lads didn't have to experience a lot of the us catholics got back in the day. At best I have to applaud their branding, they have the column inches and social media engagement they've sought. At worst they are pretty embarrassing and cringe to most of us and their message of hate doesn't represent Irish nationals, whether it's just for attention or they mean what they say.
