It’s really tough but don’t let how tough it is be a burden on you. Focus on getting yourself better, each day is a blessing and you’re probably doing better than you actually think or feel. Set yourself a little goal to achieve each day. Slow and steady wins the race. Hopefully you’ll be back on your feet soon…. and more importantly being the best dad you can possibly be.

Christmas will be with the boy and his mum. Boxing Day we are going centre parcs for the night and have the day after swimming there with my side of the family. NYE usually my mum has a party so likely there.

Hermansen Justin Vestergaard Faes Kristiansen Winks Skipp Fatawu N’Didi Ayew Vardy Is what I think he’ll go for. It’s the most defensive attacking XI we can field which I feel is something that Cooper likes doing. The energy of Skipp next to Winks has been missed in the last few games I feel as well, and we’re going to need that spending most of the game chasing the ball. That back four fills me with dread and would much prefer us to start going with a back 3 even if it’s for a few games to stop the flurry of goals going in. We’re needing 3 goals a game to even have half a sniff of a result at the minute. I fear it’s going to be a procession for Chelsea, an early goal conceded and it could be anything.

Personally wouldn’t really bother me who gets it, I’ll still watch it with the lad on a Sunday morning. I’ve stated in the thread there are plenty of other strong candidates and the majority of them are female that would be really good at the job having seen what they’ve already done fronting other shows. I do get what some people are saying here though and it’s based on the strength of what people have seen from Mark Chapman, I would say. It would seem to split the job would be for “box ticking” (not keen on that statement myself but for arguments sake) purely because he is by far and away the most natural replacement. The sad thing is should Alex Scott get the role there would be some people with the stance of “I’m not watching that because she’s presenting it” or “woke BBC” etc.

Absolutely, I agree. You’d have to be pretty naive to think that you’re not gonna get any abuse refereeing in the most watched league in the world though, and If that’s something you couldn’t cope with, why would you put yourself in that position? I certainly wouldn’t if that was the case.

It’s not at all. Who on earth, knowing they’re in the limelight in one of the most scrutinised jobs would think it’s ok to send something like this? It absolutely reeks of arrogance as well. They are trained to be able to cope with what gets thrown at them so that’s nonsense as well. Then just read the comments he’s made “I’m too big for this”. Not arrogant at all that.

I fully understand what you’re saying and they’re all very fair points. MOTD will be at a huge loss with the loss of Lineker and Ian Wright, I just don’t think it’ll be the end of the world if there’s a new presenter that’s not played the game, as long as they can front a programme well enough.
