I think he'll leave by mutual agreement this weekend. His position is simply untenable now. 10 defeats in 11, basically saying in his interview last night that the players can't even compete with a lower mid table team at home, players falling out on the pitch and patently giving up last night, and he's showing absolutely no sign of having any ideas on how to turn this around (in fact, doubling down on the same failing approach again and again).

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

In a team with a lot of unlikeable players, he's the one I dislike the most. -
No, as I said in a separate thread, the main difference between Cooper's reign and Ruud's is that the team overall has a much better structure now. As a result, we are producing far better passing patterns through midfield and conceding far fewer shots than under Cooper. The problem is that Ruud is topping that structure off with our oldest, slowest players so we look totally toothless going forward and can't really press opposition defenders (apart from BEK running himself into the ground doing the work of the 3 forwards in front of him). And we still have the same players at the back making individual errors game after game, so we are continuing to leak goals. Of course, I can see why people say it's not all over as we are only 2 points from safety but it's hard not to see Wolves pulling away from us. They've had another really tough set of fixtures since Xmas, but looking ahead, after Saturday, they have a much more favourable run in than us. Plus, they made several signings in January to address weaknesses, which we weren't able to do, and have one of the most in-form strikers in the league. There is no way that we would go to Anfield and have a second half performance like theirs yesterday.

Wolves will soon pull away like Everton have. They look several levels better than us.

Liverpool have been so sloppy today.

I think Wilf became underrated after his dip in form towards the end of the Rodgers era. Before that, I think he was generally regarded very highly by our fanbase with many regarding him as the most difficult player to replace if he was unavailable, and expecting him to our next big sale at some point. It's great to see him back on form, long may it continue.

It was the switch to 352 that changed things for us that season. We need to follow a similar approach now, as it would allow us to get both Bilal and Facundo in the team. Daka has to get a run of games, too. With him, Bilal and Facundo up there we will at least have 3 players capable of running and pressing. This absolutely won't happen of course. RVN will die on his 4231 hill. -
There's no chance he'll change the system and it will be the same front 3.

Have looked back over our previous seasons in the top flight and there are currently only 2 seasons where our points per game is worse than this season: 1977/78 - 0.64 PPG (converted to 3 points per win) 2000/01 - 0.67 PPG We're currently on 0.68 PPG and it's high likely that will get worse, given the remaining fixtures we have. So, this team might well have the dubious honour of being our worst ever top flight team. -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

The squad is obviously dogsh1t but with every passing defeat his position is surely becoming untenable? -
5 first tier home games without a goal

This is shaping up to be our worst top flight team ever. -

There will be plenty more records like this before the end of the season. -

Sorry to be a pedant but it's 5 home games without a goal. -

I assume this is the worst ever start for a Leicester manager as well? -
Same team, same tactics, 0-2. Next.
-
And we still concede 2 against a team with no fit first choice attackers.
-
Conceding straight after half time is one of our favourite party pieces.
-
Yeah because Facundo has been given loads of minutes to show what he can do over recent weeks.....
-
Classic case of another manager fitting the available players into his preferred system, rather than adopting a formation that fits the players. 343 with Facundo and Bilal as 10s should have been tried by now.
-
Not sure about that. Either way, at least he might try to do something out of the ordinary, rather than hobbling around for 90 minutes.
-
Buonanotte was far from substandard until Ruud walked in the door. Ayew is the most pointless attacking player we've had in a long while. Creates virtually nothing, never takes on a defender, has no pace and it's a myth that he works hard. Other than that, it makes total sense for Ruud to play him for 90 minutes every week.
-
Assume everyone has lumped big money on Sterling scoring his first goal of the PL season today? Basically free money.
-
I think I'm done with Ruud now. The continued selection of Ayew and Reid over younger, more creative players is utterly ridiculous. His treatment of Facundo is totally baffling in particular.
