That's my take on it. Having started to warm to Cooper after the second half on Monday, I am now squarely back in the 'this bloke is going to wreck the club even more' territory.

The club trying to sugar the pill by saying there will be more signings next week. Yeah, right! I will be expecting (at best) a Molla Wague-style loan signing going through at 10pm on deadline day then.

Has this fallen through yet? PLEASE!

Cottee had a scoring record that Ayew can only dream of having. Ayew's stats look more like those of a CDM - nothing progressive but good at tackling and interceptions!

If Rudders sees this, he'll be slapping in a £20m bid to hijack Fulham's deal.

Like you, I think this will be the last addition to the squad in this window, unless Rudkin is able to do deals for Matt Ritchie or Andros Townsend for £20m each.

Aside from the obvious lack of vfm offered by this deal, this is yet another signing this summer that doesn't improve our starting XI. Given how tight money is, surely we have to be prioritising the purchase of players who can enhance our starting team, not adding more and more squad fillers.

Yep. There was a great chance for the club to build upon the positivity following the second half on Monday by making an exciting signing. But, no, this regime chose to do this instead, which is the ultimate mood killer.

He presumably signs off on the choice of player, which in this case is rancid.

Words fail me. Truly depressing. Back to thinking that Cooper is clueless. If he puts this loser straight into the first XI over the likes of Abdul and Mav, I am done, like @Ric Flair. Probably one of the most depressing signings that I can remember in a long time. Just awful.

Not sure I want a striker who has scored 30 goals in over 200 PL games "guiding" our younger attacking players.

Looks like another week is slipping by with no attacking reinforcements in the offing. It's certainly too late now for any such signing to be in the squad for the Fulham game. I am resigned to us doing a mad trolley dash on deadline day, hoping to find a last minute gem from the bargain bucket.

I get what you are saying but shouldn't Cooper be building a system that fits/suits the strengths of our best players, rather than a system that doesn't?

It is indeed a shame but I suspect people thought that this would be a total mismatch and wasn't worth spending big money to see. Looks like they were right............

How come Golding and Alves didn't play? Wouldn't it be good to give them minutes in a competitive game against an EFL side?
