Great point. I felt Southampton and Norwich would be tests, but I think the coming Sunderland and Leeds games are probably harder. Win both of those and not only will be looking like we are pulling away points wise, but beating an in form Leeds in particular will add to the gulf mentally. To beat both of those - particularly Leeds - we’d need to play better than we did today mind.

How many injuries did we pick up there? Yunus, Iheanacho and looked like Coady got a knock late on, and was Abdul limping?
-
Play mediocre, miss a hat full of chances, win 3-1 🤣

Good point about Bellingham. I get up for major tournaments (and important qualifiers) and crank up World in Motion or Three Lions, but not fussed really anymore which is a shame. -

Thank god club football is back. Can’t be doing with sterile England games watching Jordan Henderson. Today is the real quiz. -

The hatred in Walshy’s eyes when he talks about Tator Peeler… 😂 I wonder what he’d do if he walked past him now. -

I’m going for genuinely odd. -
I’m not surprised. These came up on my social…!

We’ll be as good as promoted by AFCON if we carry on at this rate. Not even joking
-
Definitely should extend his contract. It would be a boost for the entire club from fan base to squad morale (and merch sales!)
-
Maybe go retro like ‘Coatsworth[minute he scored that screamer]’

I do wonder if we’d have had Winks last season - say instead it Tubbymans - would we have stayed up? Granted not the same player, but he offers so much more in first 2/3 of the pitch (albeit currently against weaker opposition) and he actually runs around.
-
As if anyone is criticising him! His general footballing quality enables him to do this role, and do it well. We’re never going to see the Ricardo who we signed bombing down the wing, but given his injuries this role suits him down to the ground. He’s really good in close quarter combat as well, and tidy on the edge of the opposition box.

LOL that’s the shittest thing I’ve seen since Fox Leisure

We’ll be promoted by Christmas at this rate. Ridiculous -
Thought the keeper could have done better there. They’ll have to come out now and I think we’ll pick ‘em off with a few more hitting the back of the onion bag.

A few misplaced passes from Winks tonight. I thought he’d make more changes from Blackburn just to rest legs. Do we look a little leggy?
-
I have thought and asked this question. I saw it again at Blackburn. My only possibly explanation is that when a player breaks unless he sees x number of players breaking with him he will pass back. This happened at Blackburn, and the numbers escape me now but someone broke forward, and say there was 1 player more advanced and maybe 1 more coming up behind, perhaps this was judged to be not worth the risk - hence the pass back? Having said that Vardy’s goal isn’t consistent with that, so perhaps it’s purely based on the judgement of the player. But I agree it seems to be more measured like they are weighing up risk and reward in their head before committing to the forward break.

Didn’t play particularly well and still beat one of the better teams (although not on current form) away 4-1… I’m going to like this season! -
Players can't deal any more with this overload."

Trust in the squad and stop over playing people. Yes top clubs will rotate in the Carabao and when there is a fixture pile up (eg around Christmas), but maybe top clubs should put more faith in their squad players and younger lad’s throughout the season. He doesn’t fit the profile of being at top top clubs, but look at Tielemans as an example. It’s becoming pretty clear his body has given up on him and he’s only 26/27. He’s played at the top level, Europe in many seasons and major international tournaments since he was 16. So a lot of it is poor management and ignorance. You do see a few managers now managing players like Pep seems to with Foden, but there’s not enough of them. -
Lol just a general comment and for all teams!

Preston will drop off to outside the playoffs I’m sure. You always say the first 10 games set a bench mark and it’s look very promising.
