  1. It's more the issue I know from other managers that they have certain players who follow them, anywhere they do. Cloughie had it with some of his squad elsewhere... (will refrain from uttering their names). Sinclair, for me, is the most likely of his ex players. But yes, I definitely agree with you re Tielemans. Another thing I hope he gets us doing is spreading the play more across the width of the pitch. We have a tendency, sometimes, to get boxed in and then the idea breaks down and we lose the ball. If we are to play passing football (which is still my preferred method, ironically), then we have got to be far more composed when in possession.
  2. Now Brendan is here, I think we have a better chance of getting more established players than we have done before. I think we need a link player in midfield, a new striker is a must (Wilson would be a very good shout, if he can get back to some of that pre injury form). I think Scott Sinclair and Daniel Sturridge could be on our radar, given their affinity to Rodgers, too. Both vastly experienced and both will only be 30 at the start/near to the beginning of next season. Lallana and Ings may also fall into that bracket but I wouldn't be surprised if he looks to some of his old clubs. I think we could see quite a busy summer, actually, thinking about it. Not probably on the same level we had with Sven but not far off.
  3. He came from the Parkhead Boys, A champion, our choice, Brendan Rodgers, Manager down Filbert Way, Cheer him on, And we'll watch the Foxes play! Maguire plays it from the back, Vardy leads our attack, Brendan Rodgers, Let's say it once again! 5000 to 1, Our hopes will never end. (Just throwing this out there as an idea to that tune...)
  4. I was in Church when the news came through after our Morning Service. Praise the Lord!
  5. Our World Cup winner and a true gentleman. In him and Shilton, our club were blessed with two of the best ever England keepers. No doubting that Gordon was probably the greatest of all time, though. A man who deserves to be called a Legend. RIP.
  6. Given the way the story has circulated throughout most of the season, I think Brendan Rodgers will probably be our Manager next season. I for one would be very pleased with his appointment and think he'd be a good choice for our club.
  7. If we can make this happen before Summer, let's pay the compensation to Celtic. Puel is just not the right fit for our club. In three games time, there is a very distinct possibility we will be in the bottom half of the table, without any cups to play for and no likelihood of bringing any new faces in this January because he has no intention of doing so. I felt for him at the end today but the first half proved the writing is on the wall. The defending was atrocious and if you look at his tenure overall, these problems keep occurring. Palace away, twice and at home, Bournemouth away, Cardiff and Southampton at home. Newport in the cup, too. I hate to say it but at the moment I expect a loss before every match because of how we have been playing. I haven't felt like that in years.
  8. Utter dross. The moments before their goal, he got tackled, waved his arms aside as if 'What can I do?' and watched on.
  9. Love this photo of them together after we'd just won the Title.
  10. Miss him so much in the dugout - so glad to see him back though doing this, shows the gentleman he is.
  11. I'm really angry that The Sun have been allowed to show this video or any media outlet for that fact. I won't bring myself to watch it because I think it is distasteful and also far too upsetting to watch people going airborne into their imminent death. Shame on the person who sent this to them. The only people who should be observing this sort of thing is the Police in their investigation.
  12. My own feelings are a memorial, similar to the one seen at Anfield (I think Bradford also had one) but also a statute of Vichai, probably alongside Claudio and Wes, holding the Premier League Trophy and one of his inspirational quotes adorned at the bottom of it. I also think THE KHUN VICHAI STAND would be most befitting, too.
  13. I think it's the right thing. The lads need to get back on that pitch and I'm sure - to a man - all of them will play with an intense vigour. Come what may, we're with you every step of the way boys!
  14. Was he moronic for saying what he did? Absolutely. Should the BBC do something about it, internally? That's their call. What we need to do is rally round together, grieve together, be there for one another and remember in all of this we have a football club we all call ours and we are a family. Don't let's let someone who makes ill judged remarks ad hoc detract from what really matters.
  15. I think my response on the Radio following the full time whistle was somewhat measured in comparison to what I really wanted to say. Palace was bad enough, but this is (at least) the second shower we've played away from home, in less than 6 months. Have we improved in the 40 odd games since he was appointed? That's what must be asked by the board. EDIT: His post match interview again is the same crap again. "Good balance" No Claude - it wasn't, we lost!!
  16. We've not beaten Bournemouth since their rise to the Premier League so I'd be happy with another point there. Huddersfield at home, we should be winning that, so ask again after those two games are out of the way.
  17. I am trying to be measured after today, but the one thing above all else which really annoyed me, when Chilwell was injured and went down - why did he bring on Amartey for Maddison instead of Fuchs for Chilwell? We are trying to get a point at home and that one thing sent out totally the wrong message to the rest of the team. I confess the language I used at the time in the ground was far from the diplomatic tenor I usually use on here (including this post).
  18. A little memory ahead of the next instalment...
  19. That first bit sounds like a Welsh road sign.
  20. Whatever it is mate, I'm just glad we're this side of the Midlands pronouncing it and not with a thick Dudley accent or a Geordie one, for that matter. I'm just going to go with Caglar and hope for the best.
  21. Challah Swaninjah is what I made that out to be, sounds like some new Star Wars character... no way the tannoy guy is getting that out on a match day.
  22. Henry not getting the Villa job after be a shoe-in will have made him re-evaulate his options. I think after how we played last night, Claude deserves a fair crack of the whip, but we know from the past how these things alter. If he was sacked, Henry would be a very good bet, but I'd rather us not keep chopping and changing, as it does not help us build long term. We need stability as a club both on and off the pitch, a five year plan as such. Whatever happens - we need to run with something, long term. Be that Puel or Henry. I'm sure I'm not the only one fed up of having a new manager each year.
  23. General mood must be like us all - gutted we lost that - but how well did we do? Maddison is one hell of a player. Ricardo looks very good, too. Nacho was unlucky not to get a penalty, Gray was positive, Chilwell as well (just needs to improve his crossing!!) Silva and Ndidi did well, room for improvement - yes - but still, composed overall. Kasper, bar the goals, nigh on faultless and that save against Lukaku was another gem. Ghezzal looked like he could have a skill or two in his locker when he came on. Iborra, not on long enough, but we know what he can do and Vardy, got another one - could have scored the chance before, but that was the least we deserved. Wes, well we all know his flaws now so I won't dwell on that too much, but Claude does need to be brave enough to drop him and play Evans alongside Maguire when fully-match-fit. Amartey was by far and away the weakest link and I would rather see Ricardo play at RB, but on a night of positives, let's not be too hard on the boys as a whole. I'm very encouraged and keep that style going into the rest of the season and we will get into the Europa League.
