Understand all of that If the head coach is unable to take up the role because he can’t get a backroom staff member that he wants then that’s a concern. if you were RVN then you’d have asked for some commitments to spending in jan and next summer (dependant on relegation). if the club are unable to deal with those concerns then that’s potentially an issue.

why should that delay - would the inability to get one or two backroom staff be a deal breaker? (As I believe was the case with potter in the summer ) i suspect that the prospective coach may ask for a couple of staff that might cost a little to get out of their contracts - and if the club drag their feet about that then what does that say about possible spend in January ?? presumably coaching staff have contacts whereby they can put staff on gardening leave for a few weeks if they leave unless an agreement with new employer is reached.

Whilst we lined him up pre sacking, we clearly didn’t do much groundwork re contact and backroom staff (backroom staff understandable).
