  1. I go to St Albans when I can with my youngest atmosphere is great - friendly banter with opposition fans irrespective of the result (unless it’s Hemel - we hate Hemel) change ends at half time so always behind the goal you’re playing towards and the result doesn’t really matter to me which makes it non stressful. I can genuinely appreciate everything that happens on the pitch. food isn’t a rip off and it’s below national league so you can watch the game with a beer
  2. Just being facetious- facts are irrelevant 😄
  3. Yes - my point was that people’s response to big wealth makes controlling it impractical.
  4. agree with the KDH comments - was thinking about this yesterday we definitely couldn’t ignore psr last year. PSR runs on three year cycles so the PL are quite in order to punish us based on our position at June 30 2024. Whether they are able to do it this season under their accelerated scheme is a question because we weren’t a PL club last season. We may well argue that point and attempt to get any sanction delayed into next season. (Wherever we may be). We will definitely get our sanction to June 2023 this season. If we have failed cycle ending June 2024 then come feb/march if we are marooned and clearly going down would we be able to change our tack on that and try to get the second sanction applied same season? You’d assume that the football league would pressure the PL not to do that so they could finally have their ‘pound of flesh’. we are clearly attempting to control our running breach - otherwise we’d just be spending big to avoid being turned down by players and agents). I think we are clearly struggling to meet psr obligations and trying to keep the breaches to a level where we will take a 3 point hit (I think to June 23 will be 6). EDIT: the sun are clueless as per the enzo 50m comment which was completely without context and highlighted their ignorance.
  5. So Southampton are buying a player from sporting to provide them the dough to buy fotis …… meanwhile
  6. I don’t think you can stop someone from accumulating wealth - human nature and politics just wouldn’t make it practical. You can make sure that they pay their way though. I mean even if that forces them at the very least to be philanthropic (with govt oversight to avoid it being self serving). paying effective tax rates on the accumulated wealth would obviously be the best way but not sure that’s ever going to happen.
  7. Will make it easier if you keep feeling that way 😄
  8. You’ve done it now …..
  9. Didn’t make clear cut chances though - Leno had to make at least three blocks on goalbound efforts
  10. For now he is but he’s just a kid could develop quickly
  11. Yes yes but apart from that …..
  12. I have to apologise - I mentioned to a spurs fan this evening that I wasn’t convinced that solanke would work out for them
  13. That depends if they’ve specifically called for people to attack such places in this aggressive and violent manner I doubt they have
  14. Guess we’ll find out If I were them I’d be going all out for a jury trial - fair chance they get off !
  15. Well sort of but the additional joke is the issue imo - straight anti semitic trope https://www.theguardian.com/stage/article/2024/aug/16/scottish-theatre-cancels-reginald-d-hunter-show-over-heckling-of-israelis

  17. How do you not score off a free hit ??
  18. Club might have expected to move him out on loan or even a sale that's hitting our budget
  19. Once we’ve been trounced on Monday, the price will go up !
  20. I used to live a few doors down from mark when he was at Watford we had a ‘crescent Indian meal group’ nice fella - didn’t strike me as uber sharp but perhaps that reflects how grim mr Rudkin is !
  21. He’s doing the presser from Morrisons ?
  22. People tend to grow into their incomes over time. Their expenditure grows along with it - bigger car, house etc etc. so their disposable income may not be that much bigger than those earning a lower income with smaller car and house. I would have thought that increasing taxes markedly on those with the bigger bills could have quite a negative impact on the economic model the country is running on. consumer spending is so key to it. If you’re going to do this then I think it has to be a slow burner and certainly begin with the ultra wealthy who aren’t likely to notice the tax although they’ll hate paying it send the message that over the next decade the tax take will be increasing notably for those with assets over £10m and potentially lower if the country needs it. I think you need to set a target for 8 years into the future and travel there fairly slowly
  23. I’m guessing we don’t rate them (and they’re not wasserman clients )
  24. Someone who is in favour needs to define what ‘rich’ is ? I’m someone who thinks these ultra wealthy people would mainly find a way around these things there are some countries that do it successfully but I think these are countries which have a fairly strong tax regime and the population buy into that. We are a country of people that has traditionally tried to pay as little tax as we can get away with.
