Won’t be monumental. The previous season was monumental at 90m Infact it could be a small profit - just not enough profit to avoid the 105m aggregated over the past three seasons. Tbh, despite fofana and Maddison tfer profit income of around 70M, you’d be struggling to work out how we’d make a profit on the basis of the 90m loss the season before. Does anyone know how we managed to lose such a huge amount of money 21/22 ?

It’s not a simple as the loss on the accounts. there are a lots of costs which are allowable and must be deducted I have no idea what southamptons situation was the two previous seasons And did they make many of their summer sales pre July ? If not then that possibly puts them in a difficult place re the prem but ok re the championship

Unless there was a deal in the pipeline which fell through for ward, the explanation must lie in the wages. either ward didn’t have a relegation clause or it was in his interest to hang around so that he would be eligible to receive his inflated PL level wage paying again come this summer if we went back up this summer he will only have a year left so it’s odd that he would hang around on that basis. if you knew we were desperate for money, would you pay 35m for kdh ? JJ would likely bring in around £10/15m if he doesn’t have any further injury issues neslon is not exposed enough to bring in more than about £10m imo Faes has £9m left on his amortisation this summer. We wouldn’t get more than £12/15m for him so that’s a possible 6m in the plus column Mads had approx 5m left on his fee. I suppose we could get £15m somewhere which brings in 10m jakub - all profit but surely no one is paying more than £3/5m for him (and that being generous) Without knowing for sure, my suspicion is that sponsorship deals run to end June ref ffp to be in line with everything else. I would be astonished if we could make deals for 24/25 and include the income in psr accounts for 23/24.

To those people saying we can just sell players this June to stay in line, I posted yesterday evening those who were pure profit and would makes sense to sell. Do wealthy people invest to make money from football? The Americans have been trying but are quickly realising that away from the rich six, there is only pain and losses because of the way it’s run. People will surely only buy in if they have a guarantee that it’s part of a process to take full control at some point at an agreed price. Which is why our drop off in results will be going down like a lead balloon in the boardroom

on the day to day football side that is true BUT king power underpaid for shirt sponsorship for years king power underpaid for the stadium naming rights for years that extra income would have helped putting the money in as share capital (which is allowed up to limits) covers the holes but a v wealthy ownership would have done both and of course stadium development cost which doesn’t affect ffp will bring in additional income. A v wealthy ownership would have bankrolled that some time ago.

Barnes was 23/24. I think only madders was 22/23 (as was little wes which probably cleared approx £35m profit given he’d only been with us for two seasons ). Those two transfers pushed approx £70m into the income column. We spent approx 50m which is amortised 10m so likely to have pushed around 60m into the plus column. But surely we would have pushed Barnes out of the door pre July aswell if we’d needed to ?? We must have known what we needed to get in before the end of June 2023 to stay onside ?? You wonder if there could be an anomoly at play here. The sanction for breaking the rules is now supposed to be applied in the season following the issue. But we can’t be sanctioned because we aren’t a PL club. Similarly, the efl cannot sanction us until next season when we hopefully won’t be an efl club. surely the PL wouldn’t have messed this up ??

Maybe it is if we go back up but there’s no evidence that the owners could invest more than they already have over the past few years. I think they’ve put in as much as they are allowed to over the past couple seasons.
