You would assume that the owners could loan the cashflow to the club rather than via a bank at commercial interest rates. however, it may be that owners are only able to invest the allowable amounts each season and anything else must be at arms length. The Macquarie stuff could be at very advantageous rates via agreements between themselves and KP ??

Man City’s charges are not straightforward over spending and they are for things that happened years ago so they aren’t subject to the new rules that say charges must be brought the season following the breach they will have their cases heard eventually Chelsea have not failed ffp for 22/23. They will fail 23/24 if they don’t clear £100/120m on profit by 30 June. They would be punished later next season.

If Forest appeal it then it’s a struggle to get that heard before the end of the season. I assume that is why it’s being dragged out now the idea was that it should all be done and trusted within the following season it's ridiculous that they can’t enforce their own rules effectively

if we look like a basket case then players may not be that keen to come ..... we certainly wont be offering the kind of packages that we have in the past (which will mean we are operating a very two tier system with players going back onto their 60-80k/week and new ones at 40k.) that's not a great recipe for togetherness

IF we go up, then presumably we will be treading carefully re bringing players in. free transfers and some cheap journeymen how would this fit with enzo’s requirements which presumably require technical capable players ? You’d assume that this type player won’t be affordable? The club may decide that in the circumstances, trying to stay up with a Luton approach is more sensible than a Burnley one.

Was about £28m and we took ayoze’s wages out and a chunk of Marc’s too Even amortised, the 28m is nearly -3m into the 22/23 accounts. I suspect any hearing would accept that given our position we couldn’t just sit on our hands and that outlay was not excessive.

We will see the interest charges when the accounts are published in the next few weeks of course if things go really well between now and mid May, we might be quite happy for any PL points sanction to be applied this season …..

And you know for certain that Rudkin isn’t merely the mouthpiece for the owners? is he allowed to make big calls without them being rubber stamped ? None of us knows how the club works at the top level ?

We certainly have mitigating circumstances ref any PL charge (depending on how big our overspend is) we don’t ref any possible efl charge. We know where we stand ref three year period ending this June and it’s up to us to manage our finances accordingly. Southampton sold a lot more players than we did last summer to ensure they didn’t break the rolling limits this summer. I suspect the furore now ongoing is that the leagues want to ensure we don’t just get promoted and cock a snook to the efl rules. (Taking a fine ). they want to avoid relegated clubs taking a view that they’ll risk not meeting efl rules to assist in bouncing straight back. Their job is to make sure that clubs don’t take liberties with their finances and risk their future. we are probably ensuring that the rules will change going forwards although even the likelihood of a PL points deduction on the back of EFL infringements wouldn’t deter clubs because the rewards of promotion are so great. clubs will continue to make the judgement that they can trade in June to work things out.
