Is Shakespeare the right man for the job?
Clever Fox replied to Ian Nacho's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've seen Managers like him before. He's out of his dept. I was prepared to give him game time given the opposition in the early games. But he's learn't nothing and the players by their honesty are getting him out of trouble. How he could pick King over Iborra beggers belief. We were overun on Tuesday and the same today and yet he never addressed it. He's trying to be all things to everybody and that never works. -
Is Slimani of premier league quality
Clever Fox replied to willie-bell-in-rothley's topic in Leicester City Forum
i believe he's a good striker but only in the Box. He's not a H Kane who covers lots of ground and makes chances for himself and others. If we want to get the best from Slim we need to change our style and play with wide players. Then I believe he would score plenty. -

Part of our problems is that theirs to many staff recruits learning on the job.As demonstrated by the Silva fiasco. Having said that you can't blame Shakey for any of that. He's also been hampered by injuries upsetting his plans. Until he has a full squad for selection it's hard to criticise him, especially with the Teams we played against. But I do have issues with his style of play. We're in no way balanced as a Team and that's one of the fundamental requirements of successful Teams. He's expecting too much from Vardy and Mahrez, And could be part of the reason Mahrez want's out. They both need more support when in possession. That's why you need players good on the Ball with a bit of pace. Maybe when the new players get settled we might see more continuity. But it's way too early questioning Shakey's performance as Manager and Coach. -
Quite right, He's having to learn on the job. Not a bad thing if he has the willingness to learn and the capacity to think outside the box. The fact that he has Coaching qualifications is an added bonus in the Industry. I think last years purchases were more to do with Claudio just as I think this years are more to do with Shakey. I'm sure Rudkin has an input but his main brief is to negotiate the terms of the Contract like Salary etc. As someone who followed a similar route to the top finishing up as company ceo, I can fully empathize with Rudkin. like many others, I felt that the job should have gone to Walsh. But maybe the Owners identified something in him which afforded him the opportunity he now has, and good luck to him and his Family. It's a job after all and a good one, and it looks as if he's going to be here for a long time, so he deserves our respect for the job he's done this Window. Long may it Continue. Onwards and Upwards we go.

I haven't seen enough of either Iborra or Silva yet to decide best options. I just assumed that as Iborra looks more mobile than silva that he would do the running along with NDiddi. I do think that we will now move to a 3 or even a 4 in midfield with Albrighton to give us more of a grip on games, and I also would like to see us go 3 up top Gray Vardy Mahrez. or Vardy and Mahrez with Albrighton in a midfield 4. But other than for defensive reasons I'd prefer to go 4 3 3 with the 3 up top. This would push teams back to begin with but also provide a more potent attacking force while being backed up by the Midfield. I just hope that these new lads are also able to tackle which is such a part of the English game. if they can do that then we're in for more happy times and a good cup run.

Don't mention that little BOLX No, it wouldn't work I expect Vardy would kill the little C--T. Clearly a typo.
-
Silva will be a good signing but he's no Cambiaso. I expect him to do the holding role with Iborra and NDiddi doing the running and getting forward. Because they're better players I expect us to be less over run in midfield.I'd like to see us play Gray and Mahrez wise with Vardy in the middle Especially when we're trying to get back into games. I do fancy a good Cup Run this season.
-
I'm surprised at you Col. I thought you were smarter than that or are you winding us up.. If it wasn't for Cambiaso we wouldn't be in the Premiership, never mind winning the league.
-
I'm sure Rudkin is having a lie in this morning with a big smile on his face.
-
I thought it was Glady's. ?
-
That's it so. wishful thinking on my part.
-
Or could he be back for tomorrow against Uts.? We could do with him.
-
Quite true, But my point is still the same, How did we think he was good enough in a big game, and yet not give him another chance to prove it. It just seems a bit bizarre to me. I hope he does well at Barnsley and comes back a superstar.
-
It's good for the Lad and will help him develop his game further. I just wonder why we thought he was good enough for Champions league and yet not good enough for this seasons Squad. It just seems a little strange.

Premier League, 2017-2018 Season Thread
Clever Fox replied to UPinCarolina's topic in Leicester City Forum
That's why Clubs offer them new contracts, but Isn't there something covering this in the legislation. If Clubs have to keep paying them when injured and off form. Then Players should have to see out the Contract they signed, Unless the Clubs are willing to release them by Transfer or otherwise. The Window needs to close earlier so that Clubs can properly prepare for the new season. It doesn't seem right or fair to Liverpool that Courtino can quit a day before the first Match, When Liverpool would have clearly set their plans out on him being in the Team. -

Create's a big problem for Liverpool now, Do they force him to stay and have an unhappy player or let him go. It's time players were made honor Contracts, after all the Clubs have too. -

T o be fair to Shakey his signings have been better than Ranieri's. He's filled the weaknesses where he feels we have some. If he had managed to get Evans also we'd be a really strong team. I'm not so sure he's finished with signings yet. Ignore the pre season games, they don't mean anything really. Fitness is what they're mainly for. I expect we will see better tonight as they formation starts to take shape. -
I can't disagree with anything you say. The one I believe to blame is Ranieri with his tinkering behind the scenes. Still, we're nearly there with the new season. I think Shakey want's another couple in but can't do much until people leave. With people on good salaries there not willing to move and take less. One of the drawbacks of being a bigger club.

Is Shakespeare the right man for the job?

I do believe Shakespeare is the right man for us right now. He knows more about the Club and players than anyone. I'd expect to re establish some of Pearson's methods and get his own people in. He's hampered by the players left over from last Summer in that if we can't move them out then He's probably restricted in bringing replacements in. I do expect us to do ok and I fancy a good Cup run this season. As our style is perfect for Cup football. -

We should have signed him when we took a look at him at Sheff Utd. He is quality and will be here hopefully for a long time. I also think he will play for England. We just need to find him a worthy partner. -
You can't be serious surely, It's called evolution, Football never stands still. You're probably like the rest of us suffering PTW. (Post title Winners.) When the kick off comes in a fortnight I'm sure you will be all right.

Yes, it sounds weird alright but it's just nature taking its course In life nothing stays the same for too long, you just have to go with it at times for good or bad. It's a bit like when you've pulled the best looking woman in the room you're still a bit disappointed when you get her outside.

We are sharp this morning. Must have had your Oats already.

I've said it before his biggest problem is he doesn't really know the game. Loses concentration and switches off. He needs to be schooled as to what to do, but once he learns he'll be a great asset. He's quick and strong but very young and immature. A loan to a Championship would at least help him get more experience. When Courtino cut inside yesterday he just stopped completely. When he should have either got after him or took up a covering position. They're exactly the kind of mistakes Schoolboys make until they understand the game. Somewhere in his body I do think potentially is a very good player, Only time will tell.

Welcome on board Son. I called for your signing 2 years ago but glad you've arrived. i have a feeling you could develop cult status here.
