Superb result. Could've been 5-0 to us, could've been 3-1 to them, probably deserved to be about 2-2. A proper good game for the neutral but very nervy for us at times. I'll take 1-0 after that. The run goes on. Eventually we'll wear Ipswich, Leeds, etc. down as well and hopefully the gap will keep growing. We can't take anything for granted but it's brilliant to know that the players aren't believing their own hype and can still grind out results. Casadei and Mavididi were standout for me tonight.

Thank fook for that!

The amount of work this guy does is brilliant at times. Thought he was excellent at times today, providing real threat and getting through a lot of defensive work as well.

I expect Enzo has said we've been too nice previously. Even a thoroughly decent chap like Ricky is taking those tactical yellows. Completely understandable from our point of view.

Performance of the season for Casadei. He's red hot atm. Need Kelechi to step up a bit. Cas could've laid a hat-trick on for him by now.

This is the thing, I also suspect some of the younger members of the fanbase will think this is great, but to then charge Β£180 either means most of them won't be able to afford it or their parents will be under more pressure to spend another obscene amount of money on a t-shirt. I know with collaborations like this, the club, Adidas and the collaborator have all got to have their payday, but it's not for your average supporter is it. I know 'limited edition' is exclusive by nature but it does feel like it's not one for your everyday fan.

In 2015/16 we lost three league games out of 38, not losing our second until Boxing Day, which was our 18th league fixture of the season. This season, Villa have lost two out of nine. They've had a fine start, which looks even better by the fact that Man City have also lost two. Their home form is brilliant and they have an experienced manager who's well versed in winning trophies. Could they do something this season? Maybe. They could easily finish 5th like we did. Maybe they can maintain their form and sneak into the top 4. But are they the new Leicester City? They've a long, long way to go before we start talking about things like that.

Loved the way he was berating Wilf after a ball across in front of the play which went all the way through, rather than cutting it back to Fatawu who would've been free. Good to see he has that confidence. Didn't look like Ndidi took it badly either.

I've had a play about with ChatGPT on a handful of occasions and AI is becoming a thing at work now. Some of the things AI can do is seriously impressive. And if you're using the free version of ChatGPT it's not even the most advanced out there. One thing you can do is in your next prompt you can tell it that Leicester City wasn't involved in the Munich air disaster or the Hillsborough disaster and that the owners don't tend to wear white. Then ask it to rewrite the poem and see what it comes up with. It can genuinely learn from what you tell it, and remember what it typed previously. In practice it can take a few goes.

Ricky is just a supreme footballer. It's hard to tell whether playing out wide would increase his risk of aggravating his previous big injuries (ACL and Achilles tendon). Changes of speed and running full tilt often happens out wide, but inside there are more changes of direction and quite possibly more risk of being the victim of a bad challenge. What's clear is that at the moment he's coming through back-to-back games and, as one of our most important players, is being rested when the chance arises. He can clearly play this role, and has taken to it like a duck to water, which probably underlines him as one of our most talented players over the last five years or so. And he's getting up from crunching tackles (e.g. against Preston), which is just brilliant to see. With Maresca in charge, I don't think it's likely that we'll see him as a rampaging full-back again, which may suit him as he enters his 30s. We're just lucky to have him, in whatever role he plays, in my opinion.

It's an interesting one, that. Could the following have also had an impact? McAteer has started on the right for a good chunk of the season and he's less of a possession player driving at full-backs and more of a guy who arrives on the end of things. The point about Ricardo inverting also makes perfect sense.

"Stephen Kenny said after Monday nightβs win over Gibraltar that he had been working on bringing in an Irish qualified winger from Englandβs second tier. "The Irish Independent understands that McAteer (21) is the player in question." https://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/international-soccer/leicester-winger-kasey-mcateer-set-to-commit-international-future-to-ireland/a1655016918.html In fairness, Kenny is talking about an unnamed player and the newspaper is then providing its own understanding

Absolutely not being likely to get an England call-up will have factored heavily in his decision. But I'm not sure how you can say he doesn't care about the Republic of Ireland unless you know him extremely well. He may have a great interest in the country - whether he's stepped foot on Irish soil or not - because of his family. Or his interest might be quite mild or non-existent, as you suspect. What puzzles me is why the cynicism. He sees an opportunity play international football. The Ireland manager has courted him by his own admission, so he's wanted. It could be a great opportunity for him to increase his reputation while also (if he didn't have the interest before) sparking an interest in a country where some of his ancestors are from.

So is actually playing international football. He could have ten years playing for the Republic of Ireland. How many England caps could he get considering the young talent coming through in his position? One if he's lucky?

Interesting stuff. I think the Coalville stuff looks the best. I wonder whether it's going to be modified limited edition kits, or training wear/pre-match kits. I noticed some more merch came out recently (not the Ban Khao Tao stuff). There's a hell of a lot of stuff being put out nowadays, but I guess choice is no bad thing. I hope none of it gets incinerated if it doesn't sell. At the very least I hope it gets onto Classic Football Shirts or given away to schools and local clubs. But, if we're going to release new merch, doing collabs with a local lad/company seems the right way to go. My guess is it will appeal to kids more, so I hope the prices aren't too astronomical.
-
Good luck to him. The more football he gets will be all the more beneficial for us right now I think. Hopefully he'll be fit for the next international window?
