  5. Probably about the only Tory MP who hasn't been (or should have been).
  6. Regardless of how they normally vote, anybody still hoping for a Tory government after the next General Election at this point either has a massive disconnect with the real world or is very rich and doesn't care.
  7. Just Caught a 2020 documentary on Bruno and Tyson on Sky Showcase, well worth a watch. Quite sad really in places but christ it makes you miss proper boxing.
  8. Greatest player to ever wear our shirt.
  9. Imagine what sort of human being pays that, to watch that.
  10. Christ alive. I hope one day boxing returns.
  11. Calling him a boxer is a joke. Fury isn't much better.
  12. What has this sport become.
  13. For some reason I just don't see it this season. Whether that's because we've seen a bit of fragility when they are missing just a couple of key players I don't know, but I think the league ends up in North London, if not Spurs then Arsenal.
  14. How did I miss this, was this PPV?
  15. People seem to be able to justify so much right now. Good luck with this one.
  16. Interesting exchange on Sky News:
  17. UnaVoIDaBLe JuSTiFieD CoLLatEraL
  18. Channel 4 news coverage has been exemplary, the best in the UK. It generally is on all things current affairs and politics.
  19. They will be remembered by largely Palestinian and Muslim communities, they won't be acknowledged by most of the western media, western governments or the many, many people which have come to the conclusion that Israeli civilian lives are worth more than Palestinian ones. There will be no public outpouring. After all, prior to this latest war, there have been 6000 Palestinian deaths in the last 15 years already, though I'm not sure many people have noticed.
  20. Happy with that, as long as when this is over and the Palestinian death toll is close to the tens of thousands, we can then discuss what an epoch event it was on Palestinian communities around the world with the same candour.
  21. Well this is a weird stance from the US government, especially considering the 9/11 death toll was double. I kind of understand the per-capita argument but I'm pretty sure that's not the real reasoning behind this statement. If the per-capita argument was meant, then Israel has a population of 9ish Million, Gaza has a population of 2.3 Million, and the death toll in the latest bombing campaign alone is 1600, 60% of which are Women and Children so if we are going to do '9/11 impact on population' comparisons it doesn't really make sense. Anyway, like I say, probably more a statement to drive further disgust and therefor appetite for Israeli support.
  22. Thornberry was even worse on Newsnight last night. She ended up not being able to give a proper answer like a little switch went off in her head and said 'hmmm, yeah, that doesn't sound right'. Despicable stance from both of them IMO.
  23. Not targetting civilians though
  24. I will say it's very uncomfortable at times, proper heebiejeebies, but that's also kind of what makes it so good/harrowing.
  25. There have of course historically been straight equivalences, like the Sabra Shatila massacre (up to 3000 murdered in cold blood). Regardless, I don't like this notion that civilians (so far 60% of which are women and children on the Gaza side) being rocketed to dust is just a 'sad unavoidable'. It just feeds into the continued narrative that Palestinian life and more generally Muslim life is of less value. There's strategic targets that may incur some unavoidable loss of civilian life that is perhaps, perhaps necessary, and then there's flattening entire Markets, Hospitals, and Civilian infrastructure, housing, entire estates etc. Let's not pretend a lot of this isn't driven by 'an eye for an eye' and rage and is widely considered somehow acceptable in the Western conscience.
