  1. I'd say yes, now is the time. Christ, Ive never not looked forward to a season of football so much in my life.
  2. Of course it's not, but cutting off your nose to spite your face isn't a great strategy either is it. Brexit was going to make us rich, we were going to take back control, remember? Except it was actually at that exact point we became poorer and migration doubles, trippled... See where cutting your nose to spite your face gets us? Long term, we need a better plan. Maybe we could just do migration the easy way - open actual legal routes and process actual asylum applications, like we did before the Tories took control and crackpots like Priti Patel and Suella Braverman got their hands on things. It worked fine. But in the short term, In the current climate, if we 'took our country back', whatever that means, we'd be on our knees.
  3. May be true in the broadest context, but given we left the EU and GDP is down 4% and we are now isolated in our shitbox, a cut of 20% of the NHS workforce (Migrants) would be tricky to navigate for starters. A report is published each year about the financial implications of migration, legal and otherwise, and it shows that migration to the UK, whether legal or not, is economically beneficial. People still haven't work out that no UK Government will ever actually implement a ban on migration, sure they say they want to because it's a vote winner with a certain section of society - Tories ran entire election campaigns (and referendums) on stopping migrants and 'stopping the boats' and yet under their stewardship migration not only went up, it absolutely quintupled at least. Think annual net migration was in the tens of thousands when Labour last left office and yet when the Tories left it was around 900,000 or something similar. Yet every week they were campaigning on 'stopping migrants' and time and again a strange populus of people kept buying into it, believing it, lapping it up. So odd. No Government can afford to end migration today, with the UK in its current financial state. They wouldn't even risk it. It would be suicide.
  4. He doesn't have one, think he's just a disgruntled right-wing Tory who's spent the last 14 years ignoring the destruction of the UK.
  5. Christ, I know FoxesTalk often feels like a cesspit, usually after a loss, but this takes the biscuit.
  6. Protests? I haven't seen any protests.
  7. It might seem that way but I think we are at a point now where only a truly global response is going to make the difference. @leicsmac was maybe also alluding to the fact that if we all felt more like children of the planet we might all have a bit more respect, reverence and stewardship for it beyond our own four walls, let alone our nearest border.
  8. Oh wow, this is heartbreaking. RIP Shakey. A Leicester Legends always.
  9. That's odd, I'm white English and most often refer to my self as British. Borders aren't really my thing (they are after all just a political/economic construct and increasingly a dividing line) and I mostly consider myself a person of planet Earth. I'm not really arsed if I'm English, British, Swedish or Yiddish to be honest.
  10. Worryingly this is the genuine level of understanding I've seen from a few posters on here in the last 48 hours. Although they seem to have suddenly piped down a bit..
  11. Strange take.
  12. I wish I had the answer. We've tried amnesty, longer sentences, stop and search (which does disproportionately affect certain sections of society on occasion and does lead to bad feeling), education. What else is there left to try? Certainly we need to make it difficult to obtain weapons. Kids are buying Zombie knives on the Internet and it seems to me the checks just aren't adequate. Similarly you and I can go online right now and buy a crossbow with lethal power way above that of the legal limit on Air rifles. We can buy a weapon capable of immediate death by firing a projectile from range. We can't buy guns, but we can buy something that does exactly the same job. Trouble is, even with stringent checks, shutting down or even making it illegal to sell knives on line, its not going to stop anybody from walking into tesco and buying a kitchen knife. The problems are many and the solutions are few.
  13. We've needed some way of getting serious weapons off the streets for a long time. I work in this sector and on the daily I can tell you the knives kids are carrying now aren't from the kitchen or made by the Swiss army. They are machetes/zombie knives, swords and weapons purely designed to do one thing - kill.
  14. I'd argue the 'race card' is a reasonable argument in most of these situations. Notice how the left rarely, if ever, resort to mindless violence. Any normal, sane person can see that trying to link a Welsh born 17 year old that we know nothing about to the right to send a bus load of Luton skinheads to smash up a random mosque can only be born out of pure racism. I'm not sure multiculturalism is failing, I think humanities tolerance for anybody or any belief that isn't there own is failing, in most walks of life and areas of debate. Humans aren't good at co-existing, especially in this modern world of enforced and media driven tropes.
  15. Extremists on both sides? Eh? Show me the extreme left activity in the last few days...
  16. The only think that needs saying in this thread. Bit uncomfortable with some of the takes in this thread. The people out there rioting and chanting Tommy Robinsons name are utter scum. The riots last night were not local people, they were bussed in scum. EDL, Combat 18, BNP, Racists. To try and put any sort of 'I get where they are coming from' slant on it is plain wrong. This is organised, targeted, race driven violence.
  17. Of course not.
  18. And he was correct.
  19. If he's grown up and Henry thinks he's special then I'm on board.
  20. How many goals in how many seasons for a forward player is acceptable?
  21. He's done the Sure for Men advert. Nutmegs someone too, so must have improved technically as he was a ****ing talentless donkey here.
  22. I don't know whether this is a joke or not, but I 100% agree. I think most of the forum could. Genuinely.
