  1. Good man. Which reminds me, I need to call the Platelet centre to organise my next donation! I've had to give it a six month break to make sure I haven't got anything dodgy from India. Are you planning to go again? I usually do it at least once a month. Haven't felt rough after it before but one time they messed up the needle and on the first return it squirted blood into my arm Ended up with a spectacular bruise.
  2. WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT WATFORD?
  3. At London Colney? Watford should just stick up a sign saying "Definitely Arsenal's Training Ground" outside their entrance in the hope they can confuse some new Arsenal signings into training/playing with them. A foolproof strategy for staying up.
  4. Given that we don't care about Watford and that day anymore we've done well to spend about 5 pages telling all that will read that we don't care. Just realised that they're going to be my new local team. Eurgh.
  5. Apparently EE went with the T-Mobile policy, not the Orange one, and you can't downgrade in contract http://community.ee.co.uk/t5/My-Bill/Unable-to-lower-EE-tariff/td-p/97034
  6. Who are you with? Certain networks allow you to downgrade your plan (within certain parameters) so you could save money that way. It wouldn't get you out of your contract but would make it more affordable given the phone you're on. The only other thing I can think of is wait and hope they try and increase your price while you're still in contract. Because that's changing the terms of your contract you have 30 days in which you can leave, penalty free. However they've stopped doing this since Ofcom made that ruling. There's a bit more info here that might help http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cancel-mobile-contracts
  7. Having lived here for over 6 years I can assure you they're not
  8. “Most of the teams defend a lot. Their first objective is not to concede goals. If they can win, it’s a bonus, but I feel the fear of conceding is stronger. Avoiding defeat can become an obsession, due to the pressure of the press and supporters. So there is less risk-taking and a lot of games end up in a draw.” http://www.thefootballramble.com/latest/entry/algeria-championnat-careful-what-you-wish-for
  9. We've got a cast iron Welsh bakestone. Also handy for making chapatis.
  10. I get made Welsh Cakes and cawl on your day so at the moment it's beating St George's Day.
  11. And you're just a crap Iwan Roberts but you don't hear me complaining.
  12. Is it as good as Theme Park?
  13. You should be able to unlock it through EE, probably for free. It was one of Apple's stipulations when they ended the exclusivity deal with O2 I believe. I did it a couple of years ago with Vodafone to stick a foreign simcard in there. As for the contract, I'm presuming the £237 is just the cost of the remaining monthly payments? Some companies let you downgrade while still in contract so you could try that just to reduce the monthly payments. Also, if you get a price rise from a mobile company while in contract you have 30 days to cancel it penalty free. You could hang on and hope they do a price rise at some point. It tends to be an annual thing in the landline/broadband/TV world but I'm not so sure about mobile. The worst that would happen is you just pay the monthly amount until your contract ends which is probably the same as the early disconnection fee anyway.
  14. I'm a changed man.
  15. Caecillius est in Metella. I found that much funnier than I should have.
  16. Been a good couple of weeks in work culminating in a promotion. Lovely stuff. More importantly though, what has Tincewind been up to in his absence?
  17. Bit late on this but they had the real one at Twickenham and a replica at Murrayfield
  18. Fair challenge.
  19. He says, providing a link that doesn't actually answer the poster's question
  20. Don't worry, I learned my lesson after I invested in a post-Uni Cookworks toaster. I'm pretty big time now. Not quite big enough for the Dualit mind. I can but dream.
  21. Because then you have four halves of bread from your two slices and it takes twice as long to use a two slice toaster. And the slices are then so small that they get lost in the toaster. Half an inch un-toasted at the end is the lesser of two evils. Breaks my heart. Cookworks are the worst for this kind of behaviour.
  22. I know this is an old post but the guys behind Hawksmoor are opening a place about 10 minutes walk from my house. For the good of Foxestalk I'm happy to check it out.
  23. He might mean the 107, Aygo, and C1s kind of thing. I used to have a 107, it was well cheap to run. Insurance group 3/50 or something like that. Paid £15 a year for my parking permit in Islington and about £30 a year to tax it.
  24. Have a lot of time for Hume; one of the few bright sparks in that side that went down to League 1. Was gutted when he suffered his head injury and was delighted when he returned to the game. Top pro! I saw him play in India and they absolutely loved him out there. Stadium went wild when he came on as a sub.
  25. Muddy rugby
