It isn't in terms of the Profit Sustainability Rules, which take into account the contracted wages of the player. You're only looking at Player Trading Values, where as 'profit' under PSR, isn't apportioned to just PTV, it's heavy on the wage bill in general and contracted wages of the purchased players. I love you.

I know this. You do know I don't agree with the rules, right? They are mental IMO

One of the reasons the current rules are 'unfair' is because the wage bill of the club is a massive part of PSR compliance. Selling your purchased assets, has to take into account the contracted wages of the players, in terms of the profit on that asset. The trading value of the academy products goes onto the books as pure profit.

With respect, i don';t think you are understanding the full PSR situation. It is not just player trading values.

PSR and therefore FFP factors in the wage bill and contracted wage bill over each three year period, therefore impacts the (ridiculous) necessity to encourage clubs to sell their academy products. If PSR was only based on the players trading values it would be a piece of piss, but it's not

and wages and due wages, and bonuses paid and unpaid?

    Joe Rodon

How much is he worth, bearing in mind he is deemed ‘pure profit’ at a time when we desperately need ‘pure profit’, to prevent us tumbling down the leagues due to FFP sanctions?

Oh no. Someone help me out
  9. FoxinNotts

    Joe Rodon

    No it wouldn’t 😂

    Joe Rodon

I didn’t say that 😂 We should get as much as we can thats a very different statement

And what did we invest in Faes, and what profit would that give us?
  12. FoxinNotts

    Joe Rodon

    Which point is that? 😂

That’s not how it’s calculated. What did we pay for Soumare?
  14. FoxinNotts

    Joe Rodon

I hear ya, I just don’t think we get enough (if any) profit from Faes after what we’ve paid. Same goes for most our purchased sqaud

    Joe Rodon

What will people pay us for him, in your opinion?

There are no profits to be had on Faes, or Soumare, or Kristiansen, or ….. this is the point

No, not 'nothing', but as much as we can get. And, it's not 'youngsters' but those players which have come through the academy, as it's pure profit. I do wonder sometimes if people read about the PSR difficulties we are in, and understand why, and also how clubs can comply. These are not my own personal choices, but they are the options imposed upon us to comply with FFP

No. We're really short on numbers in those midfield departments, I'd rather sell: Iversen Thomas Nelson Brunt Choudhury McAteer What we'd get for these combined, plus the circa £10m we get for Maresca and staff, would surely be enough 'pure profit' from the sales side, to appease PSR so that we didn't have to sell KDH, Alves or Braybrooke? I suspect PSR is the reason we didn't want to part with £4m for Corberan

The value of selling him is worth more than the profit of selling anyone else
  20. Even if it relatively small amount, say £1m, that’s still pure profit
  21. Yeah maybe. Yet to be seen though. Had his pants pulled down last night. He completely switched off.
  22. I see what you're saying here, and I do agree to an extent, but I feel this is the case with the vast majority of center backs (getting the blame for 50% of goals conceded. It kinda goes with the job). I actually quite like Faes, as a defender, and I feel he is actually quite a bit better than he is given credit for. However, him and Vestergaard, in a two, is pure suicide in the Premier League, and should never be seen or even considered.
  23. And to be fair to Cooper, we can talk a lot about tactics, but he is know for building team spirit and galvanising clubs in general It's a massive thing in the game. A real positive.
  24. Those two posts i loaded above are really interesting actually. So much to discuss. Neither of Forest formations are traditional 4-3-3, yet that's supposed to be Coopers preferred Formation He's not afraid to play without a recognised striker. His Center backs we're even slower than anything we have (maybe not Vestergaard!) He likes players in midfield with a lot of energy
  25. And again. TBF, we need to get used to losing away. Cooper's Premier league teams are dreadful away from home
