  1. And if he'd bombed he'd have been gone before Xmas, it needs to be a 2 way street.
  2. Farke would be too funny
  3. Looks like Moyes was born or the job
  4. I think we need someone who is out of a job with top level experience, even if they've failed previously, Rishi Sunak maybe.
  5. It would be bizarre if we got a manager we were linked with 24 years ago.
  6. Enzo would be a terrible fit at Chelsea, he'd infuriate the fan base and be gone by bonfire night, Xmas at best.
  7. He's the new Frank Lampard! Every interview he ever does will be "so Archie, how do you feel when you're compared to your dad?"
  8. I think we've all wanted to sign someone who turned out very ordinary, Nicky Maynard anyone?
  9. In other news an ex player has had a pretty ordinary season but will hit a purple patch in November and have an if only thread about him started.
  10. I gave my collection to a charity shop a couple of years ago, I had the home and away from that season, they were a couple of my favs. It was a really weird season on the field, I'd say our most inconsistent in my time following the club. Pleat arrived half way through and we were fantastic from January onwards.
  11. What I don't get in all of this is that the more turnover the clubs get the more money they lose. The only winners are the players and agents.
  12. And for the thousandth time I'm beaten to it!
  13. It's a great shame that people in their mid-20s who weren't able to go as children (parents weren't interested or couldn't afford it) are still frozen out of going every week. Expansion needs to be asap or that generation will become casual fans of the big-6. The cost of membership is outrageous when it just gives you the opportunity to buy tickets at roughly double the season ticket price.
  14. I wish they'd filmed the meeting about plans for the Hundred. "So apart from T20 with 1 less ball per over, what have we got?".... "what about retina damaging graphics?".
  15. The idea that you can stay up with 29 points is absolute madness!
  16. I'm not sure play-offs are always turgid, there have been a lot of amazing games over the years, our second legs against Cambridge, Portsmouth, Cardiff and Watford and finals against Swindon (particularly), Derby and Palace were definitely not examples of fear football. Along with our Swindon final, Bolton vs Reading and Charlton vs Sunderland were 3 of the most captivating games ever played at Wembley.
  17. It was Poole, pulled off a blinding save from a point blank header amongst others.
  18. Why are play-off 1st legs so cagey? The 6 we've been in have had 5 first leg goals and 22 in 2nd legs.
  19. For differing reasons none of them. Vardy maybe but he'll be big money and 2 years older than the player that got 3 goals in his last Prem season.
  20. Sorry, I completely missed the news that Everton were on the brink of administration. 🙈 I've seen a few on here suggest it as a way out of a PSR punishment for us and now I've made a right knob of myself.
  21. They'll still get the points deduction next season, it's 2 separate offences.
  22. How will that help? Getting a points deduction for going into administration won't negate another for breaching PSR, they'd have to make redundancies, strip back non-essential spending and won't be able to make signings in the summer or renew contracts. Edit: and players would be sold to the highest bidder regardless of their market value.
  23. Understandable that it wasn't buzzing but the OP is describing a morgue.
