  1. If there's a supernatural reason why we can't sign Nanasi from Malmo then make Hugo Bolin the target instead. He's going to be some player an'all.
  2. This is a huge 2 weeks ahead of Spurs. I don't really understand what Cooper is trying to do. I get the feeling he's deploying a system and style that the club want him to play, which might be sensible if that's the best use of the squad in a pragmatic sense. However, if that's not the best fit or not the one that the manager knows how to implement the best then you risk being so passive. I'm concerned we aren't going to get the required bodies in, which renders this way of playing extremely futile. We will need to be more direct and more aggressive. Do we even have the players for that? Debatable but if we're going to be pitiful at defending and attacking set pieces as well then it's curtains for us. Plenty to do, I feel like we'll be giving many teams a head start with the lack of surgery to the squad in time for the start of the season and then the likely points deduction still to come as well. This is going to be about as enjoyable as watching morris dancing.
  3. Durosinmi was looking breathtaking until his injury. Thierno Barry has started the season on fire. I really like the look of him.
  4. Not quite hit the heights I thought he would but he is maturing in to that central role and impacting games consistently. Plenty to still like about him.
  5. He should deploy Ricardo in central midfield, could play as an 8.
  6. Facundo Gonzalez should have been who we went for instead of Okoli. Left footed CB, who ticks all the boxes we need to play that LCB role.
  7. He has a very good opportunity to try Alves or Golding in these friendlies though. Whilst we have absolutely no attacking midfielders, it's a chance to see what they're like in proper game environment for 60+ minutes alongside our best players. So many young players have broken through based on taking their chance in pre-season. Not to mention that it also helps the team patterns of play to learn ahead of the new season. Right now, everyone's on their arsed, starved of any creativity and I can't imagine much of it has been a worthwhile exercise yet.
  8. The infuriating thing is we can precious afford to wait to get our business done by the end of August. I know it's only 3 games in to the season but add the potential points deduction coming and we're leaving ourselves with so much to do to stay up. We just don't seem to be able to do anything quickly or efficiently. Quite frankly I'm bored and had enough of this ownership and regime now. I yearn for a new era so much.
  9. What's Robin Gosens up to these days?
  10. I don't think you do. Get him walking.
  11. He's a really poor appointment. The one thing I was willing to support him because of, he's shown precious little interest in doing. Get him gone.
  12. Is this pitch about 2 inches long as those excruciatingly slow balls out from the back, especially from Justin are pointless. Mavididi looks good when he can get on the ball in space. I really hope Cooper realises he's got to set the team up to find Mavididi out wide rather than centrally.
  13. Don't want to give him the kiss of death but he's extremely talented. He glides round the pitch between the lines so we'll.
  14. £18m + add ons I reckon
  15. Question for Steve. Is it true you get the clubs canteen to serve spaghetti coops with every meal?
  16. I was more coming at it from having to sell an asset to cover the wage bill and meet PSR. Buying another £50m of players, as you say is only £10m on PSR for 24/25 accounts but perhaps we need another big sale to get 4-5 more in to cover their wages.
  17. You're absolutely right. The 3 goals a season he averages in the PL will be just the tonic we need.
  18. I was impressed with the bits I saw of him last season. Similar profile of player to Soule. A left footed RW/attacking midfielder.
  19. Think £50-60k is still an above average salary even at the top Turkish clubs but some are paying certain players £100k a week or so.
  20. That league is having somewhat of a golden period, it's not just high profile players put of favour at top 5 European clubs joining any longer. The only possible red flag with Sara is his lack of pace, he's similar to Tielemans in that regard.
  21. I despair with us, I really do. I have a theory that is probably wrong but could the reason we have gone from offering £20m + for Soule and £15m for Sosa to nothing because we anticipated Hermansen to go to Chelsea for big money and he hasn't. Now we're in a spot.
  22. The biggest issue is in order for him to play then he's going to be preventing Fatawu from playing which would be unthinkable or Bobby Reid who's similar to Ayew in certain aspects and a pointless signing if he's not the 1st choice cover to Mavididi at LW and Fatawu at RW. Also we have a dearth of goals, we cannot afford for a winger like Ayew to score 4 goals a season, and that's in a year that Palace ended up scoring a fair amount more than they usually did in previous seasons and all round much better attacking output under Glasner.
  23. In order to mitigate that we probably need to bring in some very reasonable relegation release clauses. That gives comfort to the player that there's very plausible avenues to exit the club if money is the biggest driver for them.
  24. Cooper wasn't a Reid signing? Hmmmmmm even Coady has called him the teachers pet or along those lines in the most recent LCFC social media snippet 😂😂😂
