It's uncanny though that we are the biggest outlier in the last 5+ years on the volume (lack of) players moving on for a transfer fee. The only reason some might not " want " to move on is because of the obscene wages they may have been on at Leicester vs the market rate for such talent. Again, who's remit is that? We were the standout club as well for many to aspire to, our players should have been coveted by all and sundry.

The issue is, in two of those seasons they got 41 points. So depending on what points deduction we end up with and the number of points 18th end up on, it might not be enough.

It's his Scandinavian background and Glovers scouting networks there that is a real positive.

I can't get my head around what's gone on at Brighton. Whether it's systematic of the club or individual managers but for all the exceptional work in the transfer market they seemingly either didn't master recruiting goalscoring midfielders or attackers or certainly didn't coach them to do so. Potter's notorious for his teams struggling to score. He still had the likes of Trossard and opted to preserve with the likes of Maupay and Aaron Connolly rather than use Dennis Undav who'd been lethal on loan. I just think he's one of those managers who's structurally strong but hasn't the ruthlessness needed to create killers.

If anyone fancies it, all proceeds going to LAMP.

Might have been a coincidence but out of us, Leeds and Southampton we appointed our manager swiftly and hit the ground running. Leeds were an abomination all summer and it was no surprise they struggled initially. I really hope this gets resolved within the next 7-10 days.

This is a case for Steve Barnes

Nice one mate. BBC, Transfermrkt and a few other sites had no subs for England 😂😂😂

After the heartbreak of our beautiful golden retriever passing away suddenly last year, rhe time is right for a new ball of joy. A little 8 week old labrador cross collie arrived yesterday. She's very sweet and settling in pretty well so far.

World class ain't it pal. Genuinely up there with the best on earth.

Not sure if the usual sites haven't been updated but they all state England made zero subs. Braybrooke started, Alves and Nelson were on the bench. Drew 2-2

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

I'd always assumed that too but it's not guaranteed and especially is we've pissed them both off. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

That was assumed to be the case but apparently there's scope for any breach to be passed between the two, it's just up until now it's not happened / actioned. -
As did the move to a back three and him finally picking Albrighton. As I said on the BSLB pod this week, it's actually incredible how good Albrighton was at contributing in important games or periods during his time here. That great escape run he set up Vardy's winner vs Burnley after they'd just missed a penalty, set up 2 vs Newcastle and scored twice albeit those goals didn't mean much to the results. The following seasons the most obvious contributions were his Champions League goals and assists but actually if you look at just how desperate our league position was and then look at our form that had to be near top 6 form to pull away from relegation, he was masterful. Set up our first goal in Shakespeares 1st game at home to Liverpool that was massive. His outside of the boot assist for Huth away at West Ham was ridiculous. The list goes on. The strength of character in Ranieri's first game after the summer him and his family had had with his wife's mums murder, he turned in a majestic performance of a goal and 2 assists. He was such a strong character. So to come back around, the conversations on our great escape and the title win and just how influential Pearson was it's worth noting he'd ignored Albrighton, played Vardy out of position and had barely got a tune out of Mahrez. But it was all there under the surface ready to explode.

Very much depends what the terms are. We signed Rodgers to a 5 year deal where it was reported he had a buy out clause of around £13m. However in conflicting reports it seems if we were to sack him rather than have a clause owing him only a year or so salary (which is common when there's buyout clauses) it's rumoured he was owed his whole remaining contract in the year of sacking. Astonishing if true.

Alves, Braybrooke and Nelson hopefully playing again today.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

Looks to be a superstar in the making. We'd not be able to incorporate him in to our squad until January when he turns 18 but could sign and send to Leuven for half a season / full season. -
Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

He's one of the players I was told was released a while ago. Hope not as he seemed to be highly rated but he's not moved up to the U21s for whatever reason this season. -
Summer 2024 Ins and Outs + Retained List
Ric Flair replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Is that scholar list confirmed by the club. There's a few names there I'd been told had been released. -
PL Team of the Season 2024/25 IMO

You cannot teach the qualities Albrighton had, that are integral if you want a culture of players that deliver. I'm not talking about technical ability, I'm not talking about tactical excellence but character, mentality, work rate, reliability, authenticity. He was also a big game player. Often a player who'd not shrink under pressure and scored or contributed to some of our most important and memorable goals and results. He will be a huge loss on and off the field. Very much feels like the last of the last guard. Just Vardy left, both of them were so nuanced in a way. He's in any conversation until the end of time on legends at this club. KEVIN

This is my main gripe with Potter, but there'll be loads of people who come on and defend him as never having a clinical striker at Brighton. He also struggled to get Chelsea scoring and Swansea weren't overly prolific for the level they were at either. He again falls in to the category of manager that wouldn't be a horrendous appointment but his reputation is massively inflated for what he's achieved in this country.
