  1. Especially when we seemingly struggle defensively from basic football, I could understand it if it was from taking risks like we seemed to get exposed in certain games earlier in the season. I'm telling you, that Sunderland game has done something to Enzo. He hated us going toe to toe at any point.
  2. He'll no doubt claim that losing is to be expected and its not normal to ha e done what we've done. The biggest worry tonight was how poor we were from our own doing. Fine if you take risks and as a result there's occasions you look vulnerable at the back. We managed to show absolutely zero impetus in going forward bar the usual patterns of play and then somehow fail to deal with all types of basic stuff in and around our box. I'm really concerned after that. I understand all teams, whether far superior at a level can have really disjointed performances and make mistake after mistake but we've seen this starting to creep in. I don't think it's a huge one off, we are being sussed out more and more. That's up there with some of the most stupid points being thrown away that I can ever think of. Pressure is starting to grow now. We must evolve.
  3. I thought he was much improved on Saturday from what I saw and read, especially 2nd half.
  4. Mavididi's long overdue a goal
  5. Philogene is having an excellent season at Hull. Really surprised Villa sold him for only £5m. We paid more for Mavididi.
  6. Ghosting in like a young Andy King Despite absentees, the depth of the squad we have to call upon is frightening. We had the privilige of Michael Regan joining us, who's got some great insight in to being a football photographer around the world.
  7. This will be talked about
  8. My Dad got blasted by a rasper from Rooster Russell in the 1991/92 season vs Oxford, he'd got shorts on as well. Can still hear the slap now.
  9. Have you ever been hit in the Dewsbury-Halls by an errant football at a game?
  10. Only if he sends us a list of left footed CBs that can play inverted LB.
  11. There isn't an 8 we have who can take players on though. Even Yunus struggles in this regard. Its a complete non starter for me, unless Maresca tweaks the system to enable a player not strong in 1 v 1's to get the space needed. McAteer isn't very good in 1 v 1s either but is quick and is very good at finding space when the ball is played down the other flank.
  12. I find it unthinkable that people ought to find a new hobby if they've fallen out of love with football. Everyone is different and I don't get to go as often as I did in the 90's through to the last few years but I'm very much in the camp that I'd wallow in misery still enduring supporting Leicester and football itself than alleviating myself of it and being content doing something else. Fair play to anyone that can. Honesty is admirable. I find the opinions on liking or disliking a certain style of football fascinating. Those saying just don't watch or don't go, how about smear yourself in vaseline and go for a rebirth.
  13. You can't play him as a RW in this system, there's absolutely no support from full backs or 8's to create space for Albrighton to expose them 1 v 1. So all he's in for is to recycle possession and chip crosses in that is highly likely going to be against deep blocks where its food and drink for the opposition. I suppose he could play the inverted RB role, but Hamza is 1st reserve in that role.
  14. Don't see where he fits in here anymore.
  15. Will be available tomorrow morning pal
  16. Plant your mast. What do you want to see? Nowt wrong with having football principles and a style you like/don't like. What I tend to read though that some of our fans want, isn't necessarily possible unless the opposition play their part.
  17. It was about this time 11 years ago we went there and won, Ben Marshall got one. Might be the last time we've won there. Hermansen Ricardo Coady Vestergaard Hamza Yunus Winks KDH Fatawu Vardy Mavididi
  18. Does Caden Voice get in for Wolves U21s yet? Leicester U21 vs Wolves U21 next Monday could get a bit spicy if so.
  19. I quite like Enzo's methods and philosophy. It's a bit different to the style of football that properly gets the heart racing but in order to do that you need a mix of the opposition paying you less respect, the right players and you'll concede an element of control of the overall game itself trying to take more risks. That I think is Enzo's fixation. By completely dominating possession, recycling the ball and deliberately add pedestrian football in with passages of quicker passing, all in the name of wearing teams down. He talks repeatedly about the plan being to destroy teams in the final 15-20 minutes, whether that's the entire game plan or part of the advantages of playing the way we do, I'm not so sure. It would be dangerous to limit true attacking dominance to less than a quarter of the game and not foresee occasions where it doesn't happen. I don't think his football is negative though, I don't see the fear or limitation that I saw more and more the longer Rodgers was here. Its just sometimes frustrating that you see a direct passage of play that could be on and that's not our DNA. I at times get restless at that because it's not that there aren't times we can exploit that, if anything our superiority and efficient football can open those scenarios up, but at this stage in our evolution/instruction, we don't execute that fast and direct attack. I'd love to know if that's deliberate, because if it is then that concerns me. I'd hope Enzo wants us to look to exploit that rather than that be our first and foremost way of playing. My only other area I think we could improve on is how we utilise our striker and the support to them. I'll always look at possibilities of getting more than one goalscorer on the pitch at the same time in some games, I don't believe modern football means you can't play two forwards. It makes little sense to me that you'd not want to have your best finishers (invariably strikers) on the pitch but instead look to create a good amount of chances instead for inferior finishers and expect to score frequently. It's interesting Pep has gone to a system with two strikers this year and in the past has and then hasn't. Again, it's the flexibility to know when and when not to change the way you play. Enzo's every right to have an ideology and mantra, maybe doubling down on it and showing no weakness or hesitation on it, but history has proven such rigidity can and will catch up with you. I'm loving what he's doing though, he's given us our football club back after a diabolical and unacceptable nose dive. Let's hope he can steer us back and not just to make up the numbers temporarily.
  20. How on earth is this the first time you've seen us this season?
  21. I thought Casadei was half decent 1st half vs Leeds. It was the 15 mins in the 2nd half before he was hooked that was appalling.
  22. Why's it goal post moving? It's natural to be stronger at home, certainly when you're one of, if not the best team in the division. Regardless of whether I'm being harsh, there's been 2 of the 9 games we've not scored at all and 2 others we only scored once. Our home tactics to break down teams is a work in progress and I can understand its not all on us, opposition clearly look to frustrate us even more at our place.
  23. Wouldn't be surprised if its an 18 month loan deal.
  24. There's plenty on here and on social media claiming we're far too good, best the division has ever seen, HMS Piss the League etc. I'm not one of them at all. We are good, I'm very impressed with how Maresca has got them understanding his ideology quickly as it could easily have continued in a downward spiral from last year. It would be a huge under achievement had we struggled this season, the embarrassment of riches we have in this squad is jaw dropping in certain areas but its been a very very strong start. I think we should score more goals though. Yesterday was much improved in the number of chances we created, I'd hold that in higher regard than games where we may have scored more but from a small number of shots. If we get in the habit of creating a high amount of chances, then we'll do what I think we ought to be doing. We may well be the best team defensively this league has seen in many a year. That is appreciated and if that's Maresca's forte and goals scored less so (peak Mourinho was a master at this) then so be it, but I think we can achieve a high output of goals without sacrificing too much defensively. Fulham for example 2 years ago at the same stage of the season had scored 3 or more goals on 9 occasions, to our 4. We have a far stronger squad than they did IMO, but they had a better striker in Mitrovic. We have a better defence for sure and I'd say better wingers and midfielders.
  25. In 9 games at home this season we've scored 3 goals or more once. I'd expect more than that. We've done pretty well in that regard away from home. Yesterday was very encouraging from a chance creation point of view, keep doing that and it'll come. That's what we need to do. I do think if we're as good as some claim we are, we should score more. Nothing wrong with thst statement or ask.
