  1. Just been reading further. Ueda got sold and he just turned Denkey in to a beast instead. It's the proven track record of a young squad, bringing through players from their academy and signing young players too. Olaigbe he got for a nominal fee and has since gone to Rennes and looks to be a superstar in the making. Now we've badly been let down by Cooper and RvN who you could say did similar at previous clubs but it's still the profile of manager I want our club to be targeting and demanding that's their ethos.
  2. And Kristiansen has gone on to be revolting once again for us and undoing any improvement on his potential on the continent, whilst Yunus has gone back to Gala been deployed more on the left than previous and ripped it up this season. Whilst it'll never be as appalling as opting not to sign Lookman for £13m. The £6m or whatever it was really stings, will likely be less outlay on the books in 24/25 than the Bounanotte loan.
  3. Interesting shout this pal. You look at the young players he had at Cercle Brugge and it fits with the type of manager we might require if we're serious about rebuilding via bringing through our academy talent and recruiting some lesser known players as we look to move the high earners on. I'm going to do some more research on him. I've kept an eye on their results in recent months and can't help but be impressed given how heinous Rooney was.
  4. It's not out the realms of possibility he has to be sold before the end of June/the summer. All depends if we're a) facing a PSR breach for 24/25 without significant sales or b) facing problems evidencing complying for 25/26 and need to front load our attempts to comply. He's a £40-50m player in the making but you look through this squad and scratch your head as to where we can even turn £10-20m profit on anyone other than Hermansen and that's quite possibly not enough. Sickening.
  5. Yeah, we should have signed him under Maresca but definitely last summer under Cooper. Stupidity.
  6. Opening game of the season i thought 1st half we were really good, theh they were all over us 2nd half. Monga then had a couple of really good efforts but they were an impressive side.
  7. Done more than enough to show he's an impact player at this level quite comfortably. I am excited to see him effect games for us next season.
  8. Fair points, I would still have to disagree with the way you judged it though. I've just listened back again and Jake particularly talks at length about respecting Guy's opinions especially on things we have absolutely no evidence to challenge even if ours aren't aligned with that. I suppose what this comes down to is (as this is the first controversial guest we've had from the feedback from our listeners, even more so than Ballague) is to be more alive to challenging guests because acknowledging the feedback we've had from our listeners shouldn't be shied away from. Look at how many pages of replies on this thread came in the last week after Branston. To have not covered it wouldn't have been right and as I've said, Jake and Jord genuinely were buzzing with Guy's input as its a topic we've not covered as much as we've wanted to. So whilst you're right we've said some things without Branston being party to it to immediately respond, I don't think it's out of order for us to have covered the post pod feedback. I'd happily have him back on, as would Jake and Jord and I think another debate could be brilliant.
  9. Yes my man! Been calling for Souttar to be used up front for over two years now.
  10. Another 10 miles in the bank early this morning. Absolutely loving it at the minute, it's nature's gift.
  11. Hahahaa absolutely not, pure money maker ain't it that.
  12. I've entered, hoping if I'm really rude about how I secretly hope I won't be selected means I actually will.
  13. Eh? Jake did question him on the assessment of Rudkin (being the best in the business) given we've then declined and his answer wasn't very forthcoming. I also asked why we can't blood more academy players and " because you can't " is hardly very ground breaking. Jake and Jord both thought Guy was a very good guest and said so this week. So I presume you mean me? Having listened back I was irked by how Branston talked about our academy, especially comments about Ben Nelson and said so. Don't think any of us have thrown him under the bus, as I've said Jake and Jord think he was very insightful, but it was amusing him thinking McAteer was 6ft 4 or whatever.
  14. I meant in theory an ambitious Championship club could attract such a player. We won't go anywhere near him 😂
  15. Would be an immense couple but not unrealistic.
  16. Louis Munteanu please
  17. His contracts not up this summer?
  18. Jamie Donley
  19. We got a taste of this deeply devastating feeling in June 2016 when the bombshell was dropped he was close to joining Arsenal. I remember being in total bewilderment and was beside myself. Couldn't concentrate at work and think I fcuked off for the day. The feeling of elation when he stayed was indescribable and it's astonishing to think how different the bond and story between us and Vardy would look and feel if he had gone. Whilst he'd already fired us to the unthinkable which we know can never be bettered, I hold most dear the longevity of him being here and him being ours and no-one else's. He elevated us from being an ordinary club to being box office, we are now back to being nothing special and the feeling of emptiness is difficult to deal with, it already was prior to today's announcement. The whole 13 years are my favourite Vardy moments, we've gone on holiday to Rhyl for 2 weeks and ended up in Hollywood all inclusive for free for over a fcukin decade. He's some boy.
  20. His brace away at Sunderland in 2015/16, more specifically the 2nd goal. The outpouring of emotion from me matched Ranieri's who if I remember rightly was in tears. I was more stressed during that game than any of the others down that stretch for some reason. Jack Rodwell had a chance to equalise and had a howler and then Vardy wrapped it up.
  21. Well that's fcukin broken me. It shouldn't be a shock but truth be told, I was never going to handle Vardy leaving. Football and Leicester will never be the same, I can accept that. It hurts like hell though. There's too much to process, maybe now I'll actually let that Prem title win sink in because as far as I'm concerned, I no longer identify or acknowledge the present or future in football. I'll just re-live the last 13 years thank you very much. BIGGER THAN THE CLUB 🐐
  22. I can confirm this is true.
  23. Jonathan was absolutely top class, quite possibly my favourite ever guest for insight in to how our club does or doesn't operate. Found his comments on what we are potentially lacking in the role Rudkin is being asked to do very affirming. We need more football people doing a lot of that role, we've been swept aside by teams who have the structure in place.
