Just pointing out that they're not averse to splashing out this season, if €10m-€15m is the price for Ndidi they're not averse to paying it looking at this season's purchases. # Player Age Nat. Season Left Fee 1 Cengiz Ünder Right Winger 26 23/24 Marseille Ligue 1 €15.00m 2 Sebastian Szymanski Attacking Midfield 24 23/24 Dynamo Moscow Premier Liga €9.75m 3 Fred Central Midfield 30 23/24 Man Utd Premier League €9.74m 4 Rodrigo Becão Centre-Back 27 23/24 Udinese Calcio Serie A €8.31m 5 Dominik Livakovic Goalkeeper 28 23/24 Dinamo Zagreb SuperSport HNL €6.65m 6 Mert Müldür Right-Back 24 23/24 Sassuolo Serie A €2.80m

Just had a look at their record transfers, biggest transfer fee ever was this season and €15m for 26yo Under. They've also spent the biggest in their history this summer with three more buys at just under the €10m mark. Don't rule this out, Ndidi is within their spending trend. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fenerbahce-istanbul/transferrekorde/verein/36

Slightly different circumstances although I broadly agree. I always think it's good business if you can get 80% of your money back on a signing that hasn't worked out. You could make a case for keeping Soumare albeit a very weak one, with Iversen he was completely deadwood for us. Dropped to 4th choice for a Championship club with virtually zero chance of ever getting another game here, any offer of several million would surely have been a no brainer and you couldn't get him through the door quick enough. We were in no position to bargain hard or refuse such offers. I'd be amazed if that story was true, the logic of refusing such an offer is unexplainable.
-
I just don't believe we would have turned down "considerable amounts of millions" for a GK who is now 4th choice and completely surplus to requirements. When you have something that is of no use to you then you have to accept market value whatever price you have in your head that you think is obtainable. Iversen is after all considered not worthy of a place in the squad of a Championship club that has promoted a £6m buy and an academy product ahead of him.
-
I know the "don't care what he costs gerrimmin" and "why do you care, it's not your money" mob will probably be happy by 11pm but I think it's been a damp squib and a terrible last day for us. I was hoping to see Ndidi and Iheanacho gone with Daka loaned out and maybe Tom Cannon in. We really need promotion now and have a lot of eggs in that basket.
-
It might just flush out some PL teams he's been linked with to stump up the cash, only 11 hours left so move now or end up with no one might be the conundrum.
-
I was hoping for a better quality striker but his last 12 games for Preston and his age means there is some resale value there if we outgrow him. There's also the possibility he takes his last 12 form and kicks on from that. It's a concern about his ability that Everton are willing to sell but there are mitigating circumstances.
-
Iheanacho being offered a new contract with non promotion clause for say £12m does change everything. I'd be more than happy with this if Iheanacho signs, I just don't want to see valued players leave on a free when eight figure sums are on the table with less than a year to go.
-
Without accusing the club of too much competence we possibly already have one lined up either as a sale or loan but don't want to inform the world just yet as it weakens our hand with the Iheanacho deal.
-
I believe the most likely conclusion of event in 36 hours will be: Ndidi = sold Iheanacho = sold Daka = loan And someone who can play as a forward comes in probably on loan, Oscar Bobb as Pep does his mate a favour.
-
Probably because he's happy with Doyle, Vestergaard, Faes, Coady and JJ, Nelson back up. He might think resources are better used elsewhere. I'm sure if we really wanted him we would probably get him over Southampton. In Enzo we trust.
-
You know this 100%? Explains a lot why he hasn't even made a bench appearance this season and will have to go.
-
I'd be amazed if we're not left with Vardy and another striker by the end of the window. That striker might be Iheanacho, Daka brought back into the fold or someone who hasn't even been mentioned yet. I think the time to criticise or panic is at 23-01 on Friday, it's all probably very complicated at the moment waiting for dominoes to fall.
-
Very surprised at that because he becomes unsellable if he become a player. A £65m offer in two years and Wolves will only see £35m, the player shouldn't be happy with this as he'll be priced out of a big move if it ever happened.
-
Another one who assumes: Nacho = promotion No Nacho = no promotion. That is simply incorrect. Selling or not selling is a gamble, there were people earlier in the window saying we should keep Maddison to "guarantee" promotion. The club can't turn down millions of Pounds and risk financial ruin by gambling the house on promotion. What other Championship clubs turn down eight figure sums for players in the last year of contract? Iheanacho is not prime Vardy, if we get a £15m+ offer and we can get someone in then it's going to look reckless if Iheanacho doesn't excel this season and we have seen no evidence that he will so far.
-
Well if Sport Witness says it then in must be true. Hopefully it is and we can flush a buyer out or at least an obligation or big loan fee with an option. You have yo hate these big European clubs coming here on the scrounge with their poverty pleading and low balling.
-
We're one of the few exceptions, it's not like he's going Sunderland. A progressive manager he knows, some PL quality players here and to the outsider we may look like aPL club on a one year sabbatical. Tottenham are reportedly interested in Faes so with the right offer and the ability to get Harwood Bellis we may yet be interested.
-
I don't think anyone on here wants to see the back of Iheanacho but it's not just about football, he's a player who has one year left on his deal who has two PL clubs interested and a £15m bid likely incoming. It's far more often than not a good strategy to sell any player at the peak of his value and we'll never get a better offer than we will in the next 48 hours for Iheanacho. There's also the likelihood he'll want to go and the danger of some players play on autopilot when they're running down a contract to protect themselves for a future move.
-
Well we have the very much hit and miss Iheanacho with one year left on his deal and a potential offer with 48 hours of the window left and no striker links that I'm aware of. The reality is that we're not that club anymore looking for a 20yo with huge potential to replace Vardy. I looked at the top goalscorers in last year's League One yesterday to see if there was a youngster with potential but it was full of journeymen mid 20's and older. We could do a lot worse than Chris Wood this late on.
-
We could do a lot worse than Chris Wood with 48 hours to go, could be an easy one to get over the line with it being an icebreaker in the Ndidi deal, Wood wouldn't have to move house and family and he's already on the Forest bench with Batshuayi expected to join Forest imminently. A goalscorer who holds the ball up well and can bring our attacking midfielders and runners into play and it never hurts to have another aerial threat in the side defensively or offensively.
-
Sell Iheanacho to Wolves, sell Ndidi to Forest and get Chris Wood on loan.
-
Happy to keep, happy to sell, it's all price dependent. If a big club like Tottenham want him when he's not for sale and there is 48 hours of the window open then this qualifies as a hostile bid this late in the window, if they want him they have to pay through the nose.
-
Enzo will have his finger on the pulse and accept sometimes the club has to take short term pain for long term gain and sell players that he appreciates if we get a big offer and there is a year left on their contracts. Selling Ndidi, Iheanacho and Faes this week if we could bring in Harwood-Bellis, McAtee and a striker will be considered good business when the dust settles. Compare him to Rodgers who acted like a big baby when faced with reality. He had Soyuncu at the club but wouldn't use him, he pursued Vestergaard for 18 months and then binned him off within months then whinged to all who would listen that he wasn't backed and downed tools until the "mutual agreement",
-
Those emojis are code for it's happening I believe. It's good business to sell a high value player with one year left on his contract, if we can use that money to get someone in like James McAtee that's excellent long term business.
-
Fully agree, at one point he looked like he would become genuine world class, that injury really done him like it did Ricardo. JJ looked twice the player of Chilwell at his peak.
