Facundo Buonanotte joins on loan - Official
StriderHiryu replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Impressed so far! Love his pressing and willing to drive with the ball. -
We weren't as bad as I thought we would be. Buonanotte looks really good, so impressed with his pressing and driving runs. Justin has been good. The problem is we just can't lay a glove on Spurs. It's attack vs defence, Maddison has the free reign of the King Power and this game could go on for 4 hours and we'd still not score. Not impressed with the left hand side of the pitch, both Kristiansen and Reid have led to the move breaking down multiple times.
-
Does anyone have some Wyscout footage? Very little to see online. Scores the first here, coming in off the left hand side.
-
It's not just this, it's that Reid and Kristiansen haven't shown anything in preseason. If any player had put in a strong showing, there would be a definite debate to be had. Honestly, I think only Harry Winks came out with any credit in preseason. Number two was Mavididi who scored a few goals!
-
I'm scared that he will leave because Cooper doesn't want to use him. That would be a tragic end to a very popular and incredibly talented player for the club.
-
Morrisons has reported that all of their stock of Red Bull has been sold
-
That is fair. But we’ve seen that Cooper has not been starting Riccy through the last 3 preseason games so we know it’s more than that.
-
Mavididi dared score two goals in preseason so he had to be ousted
-
How the **** do you watch all 46 games from last season and come to the conclusion that dropping Ricardo and Stephy Mavididi is the way to play!? If this is an ugly scoreline there's going to be pelters. It's either inspired or retarded.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

Agent to player: "What do you mean you DON'T want to join a club whose manager and best player have left, whose fans are angry and despondent and who are likely to get a huge points penalty and want you to take a wage cut if you get relegated?!" -

Was linked with Wolfsburg earlier in the window, so probaby there or another Bundesliga club. As @moore_94 points out I don't get why we didn't prioritise the CAM position. Buonanotte could be the sauce, but expecting a 19 year old loan signing to carry you is a bit unfair. Even if Fatawu kind of did that last season. -
Dominic Solanke 60M Pedro Neto 60M Amadou Onana 50M Georgino Rutter 40M Emile Smith Rowe 30M Wilson Odobert 30M (I don't even know who this is) Fees in the Premier League are absolutely mental. But to argue in your favour: Fabio Carvalho 20M Cryscencio Summerville 25M ^ These two would have added a lot more to our attacking output than Skipp. In terms of "are there better targets abroad?" of course there could be, but Daka, Soumare, Slimani, Silva and more over the years make this a high risk, high return market. I will of course keep quiet about "Premier League proven" Ayoze Perez

Welcome Skippy! Hopefully he can help make a fight of it this season.

I heard we like signings players over 30...👀

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
StriderHiryu replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
I am by no means a fan of this signing, but looking at the stats, he's a different player in terms of role on the pitch to the one I expected: The heatmap indicates he's a winger / wide forward, not a striker. He also spends a lot of time trying to make life uncomfortable for the opposition full back. He only scored 4 goals, but was only expected to score 4 goals, so he converted what came his way. That's despite missing 4 big chances, which would have given him a much better profile. He had 7 assists from an expected number of less than 3. That is a big outlier and I wonder if it's a case of setting up a simple pass for an Olise / Eze wonder strike, or that maybe he's secretly an intelligent passer of the ball? Probably the former. Meanwhile we see he's great at pressing and closing players down, and has a decent ability to beat a man and / or provide for someone else. Hardly a creative outlet then, but last time we went down a large reason as to why was people not pushing themselves because they were lining up their next move. This is unlikely to be the case with Ayew. -
He looked good, even in the Premier League last year in a struggling team. But the 3 years plus hundreds of extra games Skipp has make the later a better signing for right now. Brentford are an interesting club. For every Ivan Toney they sign, they also sign a Kane Lewis-Potter. This guy I feel will get capped for England, even if he doesn't become a mainstay. Very talented and seems to be able to read the game well for his age. Got a touch of Adam Wharton to him.

That's the level of finances the big clubs can offer. This is why Kante, Mahrez, Fofana, Drinkwater, etc, etc all can't wait to get shot of Leicester. Maguire is on nearly 200K a week at Man United! That's why to become competitve, the club started handed out big wages to secure the likes of Tielemans. But then as we see it leaves you in a precarious position where a club is over leveraged on wages, it's hard to shift players on, and they will see out their contracts instead of leaving. This has happened to us many times, but we see that Arsenal and Man U have the same problem. These clubs would have moved on the likes of Sancho, Nelson, Nketiah a long time ago if they could get the fees they want, but teams aren't willing to pay up for them. Chelsea have moved to more of an incentive based wage structure as a result of this. But I'm not sure this will work for a club like Leicester. You have to offer the big bucks to stand a chance. I wouldn't be surprised if Harry Winks was on 80k a week, even in the Championship. Let's be honest, that's the biggest reason we convinced him.
-
For me the issue isn't so much him starting, but Ricardo not being involved in the first team because we incorporate Kristiansen. I cannot see how someone who has claimed to have watched all of our games from last season did so and came to the conclusion that removing Ricardo from the lineup was the way to stay up.

Tottenham (H) - Mon 19 Aug 8pm - Pre-Match Thread
StriderHiryu replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah this was mentioned in our match preview video. If we accept that our players are not as good as the opponents, we can feed off the crowd and try to bully Spurs. Try to make the game and crowd hostile. Usually given the timid nature of the King Power this doesn't sound that effective, but this being an evening game and the first of the season, I think that should be our gameplay in the first 20 minutes. Take a few yellows if neccessary even. -

With one fixture to go, so far there hasn't been a shock result... At the same time no team has shipped more than 3 goals yet... So surely that means 4-0 Leicester? -
Thanks for sharing that @FoxesWalk. Mad they didn’t improve the offer for Sara, he’d be a great fit for us.
