  1. 4-0 win. Calling it now! Mads Coady Vestegaard Doyle Ricardo Winks Albrighton Akgun KDH Fatawu Cannon 60th minute: Mavididi, Ndidi, Vardy on Albrighton, Akgun and Cannon off 70th minute: Justin, Choudhury on Doyle, Pereira off
  2. Yeah - but surely ess of a loss than not selling them and not getting them off the wage bill? I find off field stuff tedious tbh, but it seems like we're just passively continue to meander along into financial calamity without seeming to try to do anything about it!
  3. The latter would sadly be the sensible thing to do. But I still can't understand why we can't sell any players. I get that most are on outrageous wages no sane club would match, but surely we should just hold our noses and use some of a transfer fee to pay them off. I get that some players would have to be replaced, but what's the point wracking up debt paying international footballers like Harry Souttar and Danny Ward to rot in our training ground?
  4. I agree. We'd have to pay him a 'loyalty bonus' that would get him off our books and onto somebody else's. We should be doing this for all of the sub-par players whose wages are crippling the club. Eg Souttar, Ward, Iversen, Kristiansen, Soumare, Daka. And we should have done it a long time ago to many, many more. I'd much rather directly pay Daka a good chunk of the transfer fee we'd receive for him to get him to accept a lower contract elsewhere. Not unrealistic to think we could get somebody to pay us a fee equal to or more than the ~£8m we owe him. Otherwise we're just throwing good money after bad, continuing to wrack up debts and keeping crap players until they inevitably leave on a free.
  5. Can't stand him. Extremely limited and extremely arrogant. Hot headed and overly aggressive. Not good enough. And an arsehole. Sell sell sell. Even if we have to pay him off so the next club can pay him the much lower wages he actually deserves.
  6. We have to find a way to sell this donkey. He might have some aspects to his game, but you can't be a striker who can't finish. Especially if playing as a solo striker.
  7. Time to actually rotate this squad. Mads Justin Coady Souttar/Nelson Doyle Choudhury Praet Albrighton Iheanacho Fatawu Cannon This should have been the team tonight, then back to the 'first XI' and normal system on Friday. (For the record - this team would obviously lose to the team that started today if everyone was fully fit, but we can't expect them to play 3x 90 minute matches in six days).
  8. Christ there's some spoilt brats in our fanbase. Big half coming up
  9. No. We should just accept the penalty for breaking the rules.
  10. This. We voted for the rules then broke them. I'm finding the whole thing embarrassing - the reckless spend, the reckless spend still resulting in relegation and then the relegation resulting in an attempt to hide from the consequences we ourselves voted for. If we continue down this road we will be made into a scapegoat to stop others doing the same.
  11. Better player than Faes. Should be starting with Veste
  12. I know the pressure is increasing and that's frustrating as for a long part of the season it looked like we'd coast to promotion, but the moaning on this forum is so over the top. We're playing away to a good team sitting in the play offs, who beat us when we were absolutely flying. Since then they've added some real quality and have lost 1 in the last 9 games. This is the hardest remaining fixture and we're doing ok. Hoping Ndidi can give us 30 good minutes...
  13. 6th in the table. Since Cavalho joined they've only had 1 loss in 9 games. We should be better than them, but they're not rubbish.
  14. Ah - didn't know that!
  15. Pretty sure they can - Fofana at Burnley, McAtee at Sheffield United. Just the player can't play against their home club.
  16. Vestegaard is having a good season and it's especially commendable considering where he was before Enzo joined. But let's be honest the gulf between the Prem and the Champ is enormous. The best strikers in the Champ would get 5-10 goals in a Prem season - Haaland or Salah would score 60+ in the Champ. I'd keep him if he signed on as a squad player - which would require a drop in wages. If he thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere, I'd say thanks for the service and best of luck at your next club.
  17. Praet may become more motivated when his contract is running out and he needs to find a new club...!
  18. Frustrating but we don't know the full picture, and it's for the best to not happen if it put us on the wrong side of FFP. KDH, Winks, Ndidi, Yunus, Praet, Choudhury and Ricardo is more than enough to fill central midfield in the Championship. I dare say that every other club in this division would swap for our midfield options. If we get promoted we'll need to strengthen the squad, but that'll be easier with so many big earners off the books this summer.
