Vestegaard is having a good season and it's especially commendable considering where he was before Enzo joined. But let's be honest the gulf between the Prem and the Champ is enormous. The best strikers in the Champ would get 5-10 goals in a Prem season - Haaland or Salah would score 60+ in the Champ. I'd keep him if he signed on as a squad player - which would require a drop in wages. If he thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere, I'd say thanks for the service and best of luck at your next club.

Praet may become more motivated when his contract is running out and he needs to find a new club...!

Frustrating but we don't know the full picture, and it's for the best to not happen if it put us on the wrong side of FFP. KDH, Winks, Ndidi, Yunus, Praet, Choudhury and Ricardo is more than enough to fill central midfield in the Championship. I dare say that every other club in this division would swap for our midfield options. If we get promoted we'll need to strengthen the squad, but that'll be easier with so many big earners off the books this summer.

Potentially, but but we're doing very well with the current players! So well that young wingers like McAteer, Marcal and Maswanhise are already struggling to get minutes they'd really benefit from. I'd also like to avoid an even bigger turnover of players this summer. We've already got 4 in on loan and about 8 out of contract in the summer. Another summer rebuild would be tricky - especially if it's for the Prem (fingers crossed!). I'd like to see all efforts put into a no8 on a permanent deal. Barring that, unless there are exits I don't think we need to bring players in during this window.

Good player technically but not suitable for the English game. A shame but it's just not worked out, and best for all parties if he moved on.

I'm sure he's a good player, but unless we have a permanent option I'd have no desire to reduce our players' minutes to help improve a Manchester United player.

I agree that Maresca is a significant upgrade on late-stage Rodgers, and all of our players are much more confident and assured this season. But there is another significant variable here beyond management: the Championship is simply a much, much lower standard than the Premier League. Under Enzo I think Ndidi would be fine stepping back up to the Prem - less confident with Vestegaard or Daka. As for Luke Thomas - can't see him still being here at the end of the transfer window, best of luck to him wherever he goes 👍

I believe it's often the case that the club receiving the player will have to pay more the less they play them. Eg starts the game = pay 0% wages Comes on for 30 minutes = pay 33% wages Gets no minutes = pay 100% wages I heard a podcast with Gerry Taggart saying it was structuring too many deals like that ruined Paul Dickov at Oldham. His chairman sold off all the good players then brought in a load of young players on loan, who had to play regardless of whether Dickov wanted them in the team in order for the club to not pay their wages.
