  1. I doubt I will go to many if any games this season, but I'm all over that Bournemouth last day of the season gig with or without a ticket
  2. 57 goals in 94 games for Celtic, 18 goals in 95 games for Palace. At club career Cannon has 14 goals in 41 appearances. Edouard 75 goals in 189 games. A goal every 2.5 games, Cannon a goal every 3 games. Edouards record is better but that ratio will only go down further, while Cannon could be around 30 goals 75 appearances by the end of season. Neither will likely get u goals this season in the premiership tho.
  3. We only really have Rogers as the sole example, and while he stayed far far too long, there will have been a heavy heart to sack Rogers, especially after both the good work he did in the aftermath of Vichais death and the success on the pitch, Cooper doesn't have that credit in the bank. A release from Rogers contract immediately after the FA cup win would of been a good move for both the club and Rogers, had that happened, he'd still be higher up the football pyramid than Celtic.
  4. The owners want to be back where we were which wasn't surviving, they recognise surviving is the first step to getting back where we were. They sacked Puel while mid table, if there comes a time when Cooper has taken us as far as he can they will have no hesitation to get rid. I'd be surprised if he was here this time next year.
  5. Did we interview Moyes? Seems like he would be a steady appointment and he's proved it over 10+ years in the premiership.
  6. We are nearing 4 years since this team has managed 3 wins in a row in the premiership, Jan 2021. Any sort of scrappy wins if possible in the next 2 games, almost 2 years since back to back wins Feb 2023, should have a more positive outlook on the team. The reason we got relegated was as a leaky defence, I've no issues with us shoring that up initially, when we can go into games knowing 1/2 goals a game will get us points we will have a lot more belief. If we can also combine that with a mini win streak, we may start to see better things from this team.
  7. I know there's a lot of negativity about Cooper but I look at our next 3 games and Uniteds next 4 and the id say there's a good chance we could be above them by the time we go to Old Trafford.
  8. It's hard to think of many times in the last 3 years we haven't had a manager out thread, been pretty ongoing since about October 2021 now, even last season.
  9. We do like to compare to previous managers. With Rogers his first 10-15 games were in February to May, where we were an established premier League team, mid table at the time, not much chance of getting relegated, fair play he did hit the ground running. Cooper hasn't had that luxury, granted Rogers threw away a lot of points in the last 20-30 minutes and we've done it what 3 times in 7 games this season. Is he the right guy hmmm probably not long term, but we are at where we are at, if he can keep us up this season I'd say he could get an offer elsewhere and we could go for someone the next level up. Lets see where we are after the next 3 games.
  10. When comparing Maresca, can we at least go like for like? Like the two games we were leading against Ipswich and the 2 Leeds games?
  11. Did we approach Poch? It seems there was about a week after we knew we weren't going to have a points deduction and him taking the USA job. I'm biased but I think we are a more interesting project than the US national team. Had we not had the possibility of a deduction on the summer we'd of had a better chance of him, not keen on Potter. We are at where we are at now, I'm still prepared to give him a bit more time of the options now available maybe we could get somebody like Ole Gunner Solskaer, he really didn't do that much worse than most man utd managers bit shit at Cardiff, we are somewhere in between those two levels of teams.
  12. He's obviously said or done something to get us back in the game in the first place. Fatawu and Edouard should of come on before Ayew and BCR
  13. People knock Cooper but if you could mix this defence with some of the more attacking threat of 2 years ago, you'd have a team 10th-12th in the league. Barnes is better than Mavididi. We haven't got a true Madison replacement, we have a 2 years older Vardy. Castagne is probably better than Justin. Fofana is better than Faes. That's half a team there and we are competing better than 2 years ago.
  14. Plymouth away last season Millwall away last season? Fulham away 2 years ago. There have been at least 10 performances worse than this in the last 2-3 calendar years with better players.
  15. The points deduction was a factor in them getting anyone different, I don't believe we'd of offered much differently in the Spurs, Villa or today's game with a different manager. The last time we played Fulham away we got thumped trying to stay up, we drew to Everton with a different manager. The rot is deep, last season just papered over the cracks. We have gone back 10 years, yet it's possible to get back to a top 10 club in 3 years. Happy to jump on the Cooper out train after Bournemouth, Southampton, Forest and Ipswich games have been played but not before. He needs a bit of a chance, that run of fixtures and then an international break in November would be the time to pull the trigger for me.
  16. We all love Vardy but if you'd of told me that day we got relegated in May 2023 that Vardy would be starting first choice 6 games in, I'd of ask two questions 1) is our recruitment still that bad 2) have we found a time machine?
  17. As much as everyone wants to make out the whole squad isn't good enough you put Barnes and Maddison back in this team or even Kante now and it would be good enough to stay up. We probably need 2 good signings in January, quality not quantity is what's needed.
  18. I'm going to watch this somewhere as I'm in Morocco and football seems to be on more than back home. I wouldn't even search for it if we weren't playing Arsenal as I don't think I'd find it on. 4 cafes next to each other all playing Arsenal v man city, I'd forgotten it was even on. I remember a lot of 2-1 losses to Arsenal more so than any drubbings. Even when they were the invincibles and we were already relegated, I'm sure that was 2-1, the league winning season again a 2-1 loss
  19. This teams had 5 games, I don't think it's capable of keeping clean sheets. Cooper spoke about the balance between attack and defence against Spurs, we can't sign anybody. I just feel like the old Bolton tactics of 4-5-1 into 4-3-3 on the attack with Vardy Mavididi Fatawu and a 3 of Ndidi, Skipp Winks, is a bit more workmanlike but the option of the front 3 + 1 of Ndidi or Skipp also supporting at times could be worth a try. Get the defence to play slightly higher but not too high and Mads can be a sweeper keeper where needed.
  20. I can't believe people can't remember how bad we were 2 years ago with a better squad. This season's feels like 13/14 again rather than any comparisons to the following season, where we were able to ride the wave of momentum. That was a slug fest until the last 9 games where the shackles came off and that was the much lauded Pearson who had credit in the bank, it's no wonder an ex forest manager is getting pelters after a slow start. Enzo had stick last year for winning the league, I'm in the middle, we left the sacking of Rogers far far too long, who again had credit in the bank. Theres an old saying the league table isn't worth looking at too much before 10 games has been played, it's clear we will be in the bottom 6 all season, let's see where we are after 10 games. This is the same cooper that was able to beat us 4-1 in the cup as defending champions.
  21. I think the target should be 50 points, its ambitious, but whats going on with the points deductions? A 50 point target allows you to push top 10 without a deduction and gives you a fighting chance of staying up with one. Something along the lines of Win draw loss all season.
  22. We are always better to be bringing someone in that has a bit to prove. In the last 10 years I can only really say I was excited about Rogers at the start and hmmm well, that started well. Id love to see a bit of the old Leicester back that made me come to love the club, the fight, the foxes never quit vibe. We lost so many games in the last 10 minutes under Rogers. Hes obviously a decent coach, the key will be whether his thoughts are aligned with the recruitment teams as we need a good 4 or 5 new faces in this summer.
  23. A lot said about getting Emery in a couple years ago, what about the guy at Olympiacos thats beat him over 2 legs a couple of weeks ago and has won a Europa league?
