  1. Yes I'd read that. But also the BBC report that most people have been given places to stay.
  2. I might be being incredibly naive here and have misunderstood the situation, but haven't the survivors been rehomed or at least moved to hotels? Not really sure why they'd be hanging around at the bottom of their burnt out previous home, unless still looking for loved ones, but again why would anyone still be there? Obviously I don't know when this footage was shot.
  3. Can anyone recommend a good painter and decorator please? I'm in south Leicester.
  4. Booked a last minute week to Kefalonia. Anyone been and knows what we must do or should avoid? We're hiring a car and want to drive up the mountain, and I was thinking about a boat trip to Zante to see the shipwreck on the beach.
  5. @the-blue-wildabeast was very friendly and met as arranged. Thanks again, great seller, below face value too, much appreciated :-)
  6. Just took my car to be cleaned inside and out. It was so filthy it was embarrassing, and I apologised to them. It's almost like driving a brand new car now though.
  7. I loved the Good Wife, thanks for the heads up on the spin off, I haven't seen that. Also love Catastrophe, although I haven't got round to watching the latest ones yet. I like Grace and Frankie, that's pretty light hearted, probably a bit girlie though. I also love Orange is the new black, again probably more a woman's show though.
  8. I absolutely love this, best thing on normal TV at the minute imo. Agree that the plot is a bit far fetched, but very clever and always leaves me looking forward to the next episode
  9. I might have, not sure yet, if everyone sends me a DM I won't bother coming back and letting you know
  10. People who post requests in the tickets forum with no manners, don't people say please anymore? Also people who post saying they may have a ticket available, they don't know. Why not just post if it is available? Or do they just want loads of messages?
  11. Going a slightly different way with this thread, but in spite of our differing opinions, can we all agree to maybe go the extra mile to help someone who we think might be vulnerable? It's very easy to walk by, but maybe if we looked out for each other these awful situations might arise less. Put that girl in a taxi, stop the group of lads rounding on her, make the bloke give up his car keys so he doesn't drive home, whatever it takes.
  12. Any victim of any crime, whether sexual assault or not, is never actually responsible for the crime as they didn't commit it. But what we are all responsible for is reducing our risk, and I really can't see why rape is treated any differently. I know in an ideal world I should be able to do these things, but the fact is I would be putting myself at risk, and my risk is my responsibility
  13. Obviously it depends on the circumstances, but I believe every time we take risks we should be prepared to take responsibility for the possible outcome. Not all rapes happen in the same circumstances so of course not every woman is in some way responsible. But reducing your vulnerability is common sense, surely?
  14. I never lock my car on my driveway, despite knowing car thieves exist. If it gets stolen, it will be partly my fault. Sometimes I forget to lock my front door at night. If I get burgled it will be partly down to me and my stupidity, I should know better. If I go out tonight and get blind drunk, make a complete show of myself and decide it's a good idea to walk home alone, why shouldn't I share some of the blame if something happens? Maybe I should be able to, but the fact is that these arseholes do exist, so why wouldn't I do everything I can to reduce my risk, and share some responsibility for my own well being?
  15. I know what to do to reduce the risk, should I not bother trying to stay safe because it wouldn't be my fault if something happened to me? There are lots of things we all do every day to reduce risks, a woman taking steps to ensure she is not vulnerable should be no different.
  16. People randomly bumping old threads to spout nonsense
  17. I see Was to say hello to most weeks, his daughter goes to the same school as mine and he often picks her up. Kevin Friend was behind me at Wigston MacDonalds drive through last week, seen him around a bit but never bumped into him. Met Ulloa and Mendy at the club Christmas party, Ulloa especially was great with the children.
  18. For anything on Sky or BT I use Mobdro on my Android tablet, more reliable than Kodi.
  19. Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but Exodus has disappeared from my list on Kodi. Has it gone?
  20. Speeding by the looks of it maybe, and not paying attention
  21. Yes I've taken mine and always in my hand luggage.
  22. Nah, to be a professional I'd have to paid. Just a critic
  23. IMO butter has no place on a steak. Sauce yes, butter no.
