Haha yes that would explain a lot!

What's happened to Daz? Not seen him post for a while, he has a proper potty mouth but I did like his no nonsense posts. I think he was something like Daz23?

I've spoken to my GP and he has prescribed tablets. It's still early days with those though. My work can sack me because of the time I've had off over recent years. I took some time on the advice of my doctor when my dad died, and about 12 months ago I had a seizure in a car on work time, and although they wouldn't let me go back to work until I had a scan the enforced time off still counts against me. My partner doesn't understand how I feel, he takes it all as an affront to him, I just feel like, I can't even describe it. But I really do value you lot on here.

This is going to be a ramble so I apologise now. I really need to talk to someone, and I feel like there's no one there. I've been signed off work, and they are supposed to be putting counselling into place, but I missed the first phone call they arranged because it was a weekend and I can't talk when my children are around. I think I'm going to lose my job because of the time off I've had, but work is probably one of the biggest factors in my depression, and I just can't face it. If I lose my job I'll lose my house, but even knowing that isn't a big enough motivator to get me to do anything about it. Most nights I'd just like to go to sleep and never wake up. I just don't feel like me anymore, and it's not fair on my children, I don't think I've ever felt this low. I need to find a way out of this, but I don't know how

After all my plans for the day in Manchester ended up spending the day in the hotel. It was cold, wet and windy and I'm a fair weather tourist. But I have made full use of the pool and spa, watched a film and made an early start on the wine . Oh and going to Hawksmoor for dinner tonight after the recommendations in another thread.

This. It's about a 20 minute walk to school for me, and I have to drive past it to get to work. If I walked back to get the car I'd be late. Same obviously on the way home, pointless driving past at the time my daughter is coming out of school.

We've got a night in London in December before we get the Eurostar the next morning. We've booked a Premier Inn at King's Cross for about £70, I've got a voucher for 2 for 1 on the London eye, and I've found an Agatha Christie performance on the South Bank for a tenner each. It's in the chambers of County Hall, a courtroom drama, and we're really looking forward to it.

I think you're just human like most of the rest of us! Yes I've smacked my children, occasionally when they were younger and no I'm not particularly proud of it. Mainly because I lost my temper, but goodness they know how to push your buttons. I don't necessarily agree that it doesn't teach them anything, it usually taught mine pretty quickly not to do whatever they were doing again. Not the best way to go about it, but like I said we're all human and sometimes we don't react the way we probably should. In my experience most people berating parents for smacking are not usually parents themselves. The fact that you recognise it's probably not ideal means you are actually a great parent. As before I have no wish to get into a big debate within this thread, but good grief, from what I've read on here you're far from being a shit parent.

I meant I don't think this thread is the right place to debate gender equality, I imagine this was meant to be taken fairly light heartedly. I don't have any deep feelings about it, but I just know that as a woman I don't feel equal to men in every aspect of life but nor do I expect to. However I don't view it as a negative thing. People should be judged on their own individual merits and capabilities, not because of their gender.

I did say it was a loose example This thread isn't really the place for a debate, and after all it was supposed to be an unpopular opinion But the answer to your question is no.
-
Women obviously have different strengths and weaknesses to men, and as such should be treated differently. A very loose example is that women now receive the same prize money in tennis, but only play 3 sets to the men's 5. If I only went to work for 3 fifths of the time as my male colleagues I wouldn't expect to be paid the same.
-
I don't like feminism. Women should not always expect to be treated the same as men.

Multiple trips? Do they keep forgetting things?

Both helicopters just gone over Wigston in the direction of the ground.

Last night, well actually this morning, as always I was wide awake and browsing the forum. If it wasn't for you lot I wouldn't have found the courage I've needed for months to visit my GP, but finally I have. He told me that I am suffering with depression, which I suspected, and has increased my dosage of Ametryptaline, which I already take for migraine, but is also an anti depressant. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that it's not just the people who post that you are helping, it's long time lurkers like me, and there are probably plenty more like me that never surface. Have forced myself out to the KP to watch the U23's, the sun is out, and I'm glad I took the step I did today. Probably wouldn't have done it without you all, so thank you for making me realise I am not alone ☺️

I really should get myself down there but making it available in my own front room puts me in two minds. While streaming is great for those who can't make it, it's not brilliant for the lads if it puts people off going who otherwise would, myself obviously included.

The same has just happened to me, same as the screenshot above. I'm on android, and it's the first time it's happened.

I loved it, currently waiting for the second series to finish so I can watch it all in one go

Recently noticed that some of the lacquer on my 5 year old Alfa has come off, just on one of the front wings. Presumably I need to do something about it or the car will start to rust? Is it normal for paint to degrade like this so quickly?

Parents who allow their child to continually kick the back of my seat for pretty much the whole duration of a 4 hour flight early this morning.

Just noticed that the website says anyone successful in the Chelsea ballot can buy their tickets from Wednesday 9th to Monday 7th August. Hope everyone is ready to do some time travelling. Do we have a FT tardis??
-
No, but I seriously doubt it

I'm sorry but I laughed more than I should have at this. I wish you the best of luck, sounds like you need to do what's best for you rather than everyone else though....

Humble Bee Farm in Yorkshire is fab, and Peppa Pig world near Southampton has accommodation and is also great for small children

The figure given by the council of households rehomed after the fire is 107. So I'm not sure where the figure of missing people you give comes from? Using your own calculations that must equate to over 300 people rehomed, and not missing.
