How does this team do in the Championship?
GoonerJeeves replied to hejammy's topic in Leicester City Forum
You'll probably have to rebuild a bit, but Leicester is a club that should always aim to be in the Premier League. I don't see you rotting away down there for years like Leeds. Proper financial management is mandatory though. If you go down, and you are not down yet, I think you'll be back sooner rather than later. I'd rather take your lot than Scott Parker park the bus FC. -

Time waits for no man as they say. It was a sorry sight, and unfortunately, due to our injuries it will be a frequent sight in the coming games.....though at this stage we might as well play Merino as a striker. -

I feel a bit sorry for Sterling, but the legs have gone. It was a sad sight really. -
Obvious offside, and as good as any advertisement you'd ever see for VAR. Commiserations. On a more personal note, I am happy to see van Cheater getting ****ed over at his old home ground.
-
He did very well at Huddersfield too, probably the best one they've had since Wagner. Got them into the playoffs.
-
Lots of good talk surrounding him. Apparantly, he's tactically very astute and gets on well with the players. Probably early doors for him to get into management though. Props for having heard about him.
-
RVN is a cheating snake. It'll end in tears if you go for him.
-
You don't think football have moved on a bit since then? Not sure Wenger would be successful with us today, as much as I revere the man.

May I suggest an affair, or perhaps morris dancing?

Considering how the Forest board is sounding like they'll want to sack Cooper, which for me seems utterly silly, you might have competition for O'Neill.
-
I'm not sure Thomas Frank would change jobs. He's probably delighted to be at Brentford. While you're a bigger club, at this moment in time, it is probably more attractive for him to stay put. Carrick will probably want to stay where he is as well. It is a risky proposition to come to Leicester now for a young and upcoming manager. I think if you survive, he might consider it, but if he goes down with you, that would be a big blow to him. As unpopular as it might be, Rafa might be a decent shot. He has the experience, and I think he would not worry about any fallout from a relegation. He'd also be willing to stay if you go down, and he has a proven track record. I'd stay away from Steve Bruce.

Championship Season - 2022/2023
GoonerJeeves replied to Wymsey's topic in General Football and Sport
Sad thing to see Town rock bottom, but the writing was on the wall when Corberan left. -
The man is an absolute disgrace. Moaned and groaned that Arteta should be sacked, now that we are doing well he's pretending he never said a word. If someone ever wants to bury Arsenal football club, appoint Piers Morgan to the board. Total cretin.

For wood to dry it depends partially on the type of wood, and partially on the time the wood is cut. Ideally if you cut wood, you want to do so in winter, when the sap is out of the wood. You want to split the wood, it will help it dry. Now, for 'found branches' they can be wet or dry depending on the type of wood. Birch for instance will practically never dry unsplit with bark on. The bark keeps the moisture in.If you heat with wet wood, you can end up with a sooty chimney, that could be a fire hazard.

I think on the Ronaldo interview you really have to trust Brendan on this
-
She shouldn't. Wood is a carbon neutral energy source.

I think if he has bet on games he was involved with, it will be very lengthy. Merson was in a bad way with gambling, Shilton as well. I think it is difficult to assess this on the outside. Whatever the reasons for his gambling, it will hurt Brentford if he is suspended for a long time. He's an excellent player.
-
Thomas Frank must feel let down. He was out endorsing him for the World Cup, and I doubt he knew about this. Then again if he is addicted to gambling, he needs to get some help. You don't solve that alone.
-
I feel sorry for the Brentford fans. He's pretty much their most important player. If he gets banned for a lengthy period of time, they'll suffer for it. If he's bet on games he's been involved with, the ban hammer will strike hard. Brentford has a betting company on the shirt and an owner who made his fortune on betting. Somewhat ironic.
-
Yes, we do, but I think it was only meant to be used in case they didn't play him. He is doing so well, and we are striking up a good relationship with Blackpool. Patino is our third loan to them in recent years. I think it is highly unlikely we want to recall him.
-
We're actually rather light in central midfield. Elneny has come back from injury to be a backup for Partey. We don't have much for Xhaka, bar Lokonga, who is very inexperienced. Ødegaard can be moved down, but then we need to play Vieira, who is also very green. Tielemans wouldn't need time to adapt to the league. He could probably just slot in and play. That makes it attractive. I think it's mainly our surprising start that have people hoping for a busy January. Some hope we can win the title, which is unlikely given our squad depth. That being said, surprises have happened in the title race before.....
-
Not sure those two are connected really. Danilo is a defensive midfielder. He'd come in to be backup to Partey, and long term perhaps replace him. I would see Tielemans more as a player to compete with Xhaka. For Xhaka, we do not really have anyone. We either have to move Ødegaard down, or play Lokonga, who is much too green. Say if we offered £15m in January, do you think you would sell? Or would it make more sense for you to keep him till the end of the season?
-
I don't know. I'd be a bit wary on this if I were you. ten Haag probably knows the player quite well. If he had thought he could get something out of him, he'd probably keep him. I think you might want to look for new faces abroad.
-
Bielsa - that would be a very risky appointment. Would you like your defenders playing Bielsaball? Gerrard - not sure he is any better than Rodgers Lampard - not going anywhere, and frankly, you can do better Allardyce - 10 years too late? Pochettino - Did decently at Spurs, though, never won anything with arguably the best squad they had in years. Then again, no manager wins anything there. Tuchel - excellent manager, would he come?
