  1. Oops. I meant "Filbert Way" 😯
  2. It might be an attention-grabber if everyone dumped any merchandise they own that features "King Power" on it, outside the ground in a big pile. Also, what about a campaign to stop calling the ground "King Power Stadium"? Use "Fosse Way" instead.
  3. If I were appointed manager (not very likely but with KP you never know) I would make all our "defenders" watch a video of the recent Arsenal-Man U game. Lisandro Martinez gave a masterclass of defending. His aggression, marking, positional sense and use of the ball were outstanding.
  4. Look on the bright side: several youngsters got some game time and Thomas and Okoli got booked (please tell me they´re close to a suspension)
  5. In between Wallace and Hamilton was Gordon Milne. He got promotion in his first seAson and kept us for 3 years. He wasn't really popular with the fans, probably for being ex Cov and for swapping Melrose for English ☹️
  6. Of the options, I voted for McClintock, although Bryan Hamilton was just as bad. I thought Levein was a likeable bloke but we hardly won any games under him.
  7. Contract until 1 June. Reasonable salary. Big bonus if we stay up (payable in next financial year). Then, he can stay on or go elsewhere.
  8. Just seen that the QPR game on 14th March will still be a 3 p.m. KO (other games have been moved, today)
  9. Yes but what difference does it make?
  10. It´s taken Blackburn 11 days to appoint a new manager after sacking the previous one........
  11. Yeah, it´s bit sad. Next time I´ll do something using characters from Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley
  12. Low points: Grimsby; at home in April 82. We battered them and lost 1-2, to effectively end our promotion hopes Grimsby away in Feb 83: we lost 0-2 on a miserable day. Then we went 15 games unbeaten to go up Ipswich at home, Christmas, 2002 (?). We conceded 2 late goals to lose 1-2- Fortunately we went on to get promotion Newcastle away, 13 Jan 1989. 4-2 up with 13 mins to go and lost 4-5. "Oh well, that´ll never happen again" I thought...... In fact, the next season we beat them 5-4 at home Barnsley away in the cup after Joachim´s screamer High points: Shrewsbury cup game 1982 (on the pitch afterwards) The play-off final against Derby Winning the league cup at Hillsborough in 97 Daka scoring a hat trick to keep us up at Blackburn, May 2026
  13. Thanks to developments in film technology, the old and the new have been combined to bring us "Carry On King Power", featuring Jackie Chan as hapless owner "Top Boy". You´ll crease up every time he utters his catchphrase "We promote" Jim Dale (or Hugh Grant) as likeable young coach Andy King, who just can´t get it up (LCFC`s league position, that is) Barbara Windsor and Charles Hawtrey, who always win the 50-50 tackles against the Leicester midfielders In a surprise turn of events, Sean Dyche (Jason Statham) and grizzled veteran Nigel "Ostrich" Pearson (Clint Eastwood or Ray Winstone) parachute in to depose Top Boy and his evil sidekick "Dud-kin" before saving the club from relegation.
  14. West Brom have ground out a couple of 0-0 draws and will probably improve from there. We need to do the same.
  15. To avoid relegation we need a Manager (King is a coach) who will start by tightening up the defence so that we can grind out 0-0 draws, like West Brom are doing. Easier said than done though.
  16. All the new players, except Lascelles, and all the young players should start on Saturday. If we get hammered, so what?
  17. I was there in 97, sitting with the home fans
  18. Even I joined in with "Ee aye ee aye ee io up the football league we go". What happened to the young lad on the right? LOL
  19. VAR = no pen
  20. Our lawyers have advised us to say nothing🇪🇦💃🍺⚖️ It is the La Manga incident?
  21. I think It was April 91. I was there. We lost but beat Oxford in the last game to stay up
  22. "Rip It Up and Start Again (post-punk 1978-1984)" by Simon Reynolds. As the title suggests, a look at the new UK and US bands of that era. His writing style is excellent. I skipped a few pages on the groups I don´t know but otherwise it´s very good. Featured groups include Joy Division, The Fall, Human League, Public Image Ltd, Devo, Talking Heads, Cabaret Voltaire, Madness, Specials, Simple Minds, Orange Juice etc. etc.
  23. Until the end of the season, The Last Chance Saloon
