  1. First time I went to Selhurst Park, for the FA Cup game in 84, we came out of Norwoood Junction station and followed 2 lads who looked like football fans. After a few minutes we saw some floodlights and carried on, only to find out they were in a railway sidings. We eventually found the ground, but we lost 1-0
  2. Did Rovers miss 2 pens? That might explain why their fans were a bit miffed - or perhaps they´d had a bit too much scrumpy
  3. Yes. some people do, despite the cost.
  4. I see what you did there . My life is very boring - I´m the James Milner of the fan world. In fact the excitement didn´t end there. We beat Pompey and then we got on the train back to London, only to find it full of the Chelsea mob coming back from Forest, after they´d lost 7-0. Fortunately they were OK and didn´t kick our heads in
  5. Has anything interesting or strange happened on your way to or from a Leicester game? Before the home game against Portsmouth on April 20th 1991, I was in the city centre with my brother when a lady said to me "He´s stealing that bike". We turned and saw a dodgy looking bloke with bolt cutters trying to steal a padlocked bike, with an equally dodgy looking woman keeping guard. We approached him and before it got nasty I had a brainwave and said "I´ll going to tell that copper". There was no copper but it worked and they walked off. We carried on to the ground. It felt good, but perhaps they just waited a couple of minutes, returned and nicked it! I´ve got some more interesting tales, but my lawyer has advised me not to make them public.
  6. Or sipping a Martini with Lord Lucan?
  7. Yes, in a 4-4-2
  8. Can I be one of the the blokes who just sits on the bench during a game doing nothing except chewing gum and occasionally nodding in agreement with the manager? Or the bloke who hands out the drinks bottles or one of the blokes who just watches the game on a monitor and occasionally points at the screen? In fact I could do all of those jobs at the same time.
  9. If and when there is a change of owner, or we enter administration, I can see many jobs being cut at LCFC (Jim Ratcliffe style).
  10. I honestly think that those who are "in charge" may have thought "Let´s save money by not appointing a manager and assistants, and hope we stay up"
  11. Oops. I meant "Filbert Way" 😯
  12. It might be an attention-grabber if everyone dumped any merchandise they own that features "King Power" on it, outside the ground in a big pile. Also, what about a campaign to stop calling the ground "King Power Stadium"? Use "Fosse Way" instead.
  13. If I were appointed manager (not very likely but with KP you never know) I would make all our "defenders" watch a video of the recent Arsenal-Man U game. Lisandro Martinez gave a masterclass of defending. His aggression, marking, positional sense and use of the ball were outstanding.
  14. Look on the bright side: several youngsters got some game time and Thomas and Okoli got booked (please tell me they´re close to a suspension)
  15. In between Wallace and Hamilton was Gordon Milne. He got promotion in his first seAson and kept us for 3 years. He wasn't really popular with the fans, probably for being ex Cov and for swapping Melrose for English ☹️
  16. Of the options, I voted for McClintock, although Bryan Hamilton was just as bad. I thought Levein was a likeable bloke but we hardly won any games under him.
  17. Contract until 1 June. Reasonable salary. Big bonus if we stay up (payable in next financial year). Then, he can stay on or go elsewhere.
  18. Just seen that the QPR game on 14th March will still be a 3 p.m. KO (other games have been moved, today)
  19. Yes but what difference does it make?
  20. It´s taken Blackburn 11 days to appoint a new manager after sacking the previous one........
  21. Yeah, it´s bit sad. Next time I´ll do something using characters from Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley
  22. Low points: Grimsby; at home in April 82. We battered them and lost 1-2, to effectively end our promotion hopes Grimsby away in Feb 83: we lost 0-2 on a miserable day. Then we went 15 games unbeaten to go up Ipswich at home, Christmas, 2002 (?). We conceded 2 late goals to lose 1-2- Fortunately we went on to get promotion Newcastle away, 13 Jan 1989. 4-2 up with 13 mins to go and lost 4-5. "Oh well, that´ll never happen again" I thought...... In fact, the next season we beat them 5-4 at home Barnsley away in the cup after Joachim´s screamer High points: Shrewsbury cup game 1982 (on the pitch afterwards) The play-off final against Derby Winning the league cup at Hillsborough in 97 Daka scoring a hat trick to keep us up at Blackburn, May 2026
  23. Thanks to developments in film technology, the old and the new have been combined to bring us "Carry On King Power", featuring Jackie Chan as hapless owner "Top Boy". You´ll crease up every time he utters his catchphrase "We promote" Jim Dale (or Hugh Grant) as likeable young coach Andy King, who just can´t get it up (LCFC`s league position, that is) Barbara Windsor and Charles Hawtrey, who always win the 50-50 tackles against the Leicester midfielders In a surprise turn of events, Sean Dyche (Jason Statham) and grizzled veteran Nigel "Ostrich" Pearson (Clint Eastwood or Ray Winstone) parachute in to depose Top Boy and his evil sidekick "Dud-kin" before saving the club from relegation.
