I don´t see reform winning any seats in London (inner city), Leicester, Bradford, Birmingham, Scotland, NI or university towns (Cambridge, Oxford, Canterbury, Exeter etc.). As you say, a coalition is a likely outcome.

The definitions in my earlier comment were derived from a study of UK voters carried out several years ago. Another study states that 30% of British people admit to being racist. Everyone is naturally bigoted. It derives from a fear/mistrust of people who are different from yourself (it´s hardwired into all of us, genetically). Most people try to fight against it. I think it´s bit more complicated. For example, an Afghan family arriving in the UK with no money. skills or English would be rejected by most people. An Afghan family who were well educated, spoke perfect English and had money in the bank to start a business would receive the red carpet treatment. So, there is economic bigotry too.

A switch from Labour to Reform is, for me, not that hard to believe. After the Brexit vote, Theresa May made the mistake of assuming that the pro-Brexit (mainly working class) voters of the Midlands and northern England would all vote Tory. In fact the pro-Brexit vote split equally between the Tories and Labour (the pro-Brexit party at the time either didn´t stand or received few votes), meaning she didn´t get a majority These "switchers" are socially conservative (i.e., racist) but economically "left-wing" (i.e., they want greater government spending that will benefit them).

I enjoy nature - birdwatching, walks in the country and in parks. Also, gardening. Plants, rivers, lakes and animals are pleasant to look at and can't do or say anything annoying! What about cooking?

Regarding personal wealth, public services etc., what has changed in this country since the 1970s (pre-1979)? Have public toilets, weekly rubbish collections, free eye tests and free dental checks-ups disappeared because the tax burden (collectively and individually) has decreased? So, do we have more THINGS (colour TV, mobiles etc.) and more leisure (foreign holidays etc.), but fewer/poorer public services? Or have certain public services been cut back because the government and councils are spending a greater percentage of their money on things like health and social care? The UK may now have the level of social and services provision that other European countries have always had. For example, I think German students have always had loans rather than grants.

Does that graphic refer only to councils where ALL the seats were voted for? In many cases. only a fraction of the seats were voted for (a strange system in my opinion). So, Labour could retain control of a council despite losing many councillors last night. Another point is that in the 6 mayoral elections, Reform was not even close to winning any of them (although they were in and around London).

One factor in the JJ situation is his fitness. Has he played a full 90 mins this season? I imagine he´s been subbed off so many times to protect him. Even if we had the money to sign him, and he wanted to (if we´d stayed up), then we might consider it too big a risk (although he´s contribued more in half a season than any other player who played a full season). Likewise, other clubs that could afford him might be put off by his injury record this season (or would carry out a stringent medical exam before deciding whether to sign him).
