Yeh true, we were 7 points clear in the automatic zone which is a canter, but just checked we actually only won the league by 1 point LOL. That being said I still think its insane we could do that whilst taking a two-month mid season break and getting drunk for the last game of the season.
-
We won the league at a canter last season, barely broke sweat, even took 2 months off. There will always be a team imploding at that level because the standard of football is so so poor. Take out the Parma blip and the history books will have his first managerial appointment as Enzo pointing and laughing at a league that's marketed as being 'very tough to get out of'. Fair point on not liking the style though.

Yeh but our fans on this forum and the world at large are/is fundamentally weak. There will be a backlash to this. You can guarantee loads on here will spend time justifying why the banner is needed and why clickbait media is wrong. I agree it is weak but what can you do.

Good lad Wellens, if he hadn't have got that ACL the plane would have a banner celebrating him.

Newcastle ticket in A1 for sale
grobyfox1990 replied to bluearmy99's topic in Ticket News and Travel
On general sale tonight -
Most certainly not. Chelsea fans love Abramovich, Man city fans bend over backwards for the Sheikhs, the geordies will be talking about the Saudis long after they've chased Eddie Howe out of the city, Wrexham fans only think of the Hollywood duo etc etc etc. The only exception I can think of is Liverpool with Klopp rather than FSG
-
@isaidno you posted in the F1 2024 thread about Monaco tips, don't wanna regurgitate that thread. It looks like city will be long long relegated by the last game of the season plus I am at Roland Garros on Monday 26th so might as well go this year. Do you have to buy tickets or is at like other street circuits where you can wonder around and get decent views at street level?

Totally agreed and likewise those at the top should therefore also take credit for the successes of the organisation. There's a few comments here stating Pearson was responsible for our title and FA cup win. that is bananas. KP should be equally applauded for the outsized success we had as they should be admonished for the mess we are now in. On a side note Ozvaldo better be ready for some backlash on April 20, if he thinks a few abusive comments from the snowflakes on here is bad get ready for the flood of media requests when this goes live on sky.

Don’t know if this is naivety or plane (get it) crackers but how on earth do you think the media are going to spend time talking about the inadequacies of club management. Ofc they won’t. Any small club that won the league 9 years flying a protest plane over the stadium makes us a laughing stock and petulant, I thought that’d be obvious. The snippet and sound bite the media need will be provided whatever the plane says
-
@ozvaldo if you're still taking suggestions can I suggest 'WE WANT OUR DOUGHNUTS BACK'
-
I don't think we do at all. I think we're easily understood, along the lines of what I was saying in the league cup thread the other day. Our trophies have bought the club no free passes. Look at our support nowadays, empty by 70 mins at home and can't even sell out away days. They'll all be back in 5 years if we're doing well. Man U fans were incredibly loud on Sunday and appear to back their club hugely home and away. Contextually, they are in a far worse mess than us and have been for 12 years and counting. The media like to make out Klopp is some sort of superhero but he had some stinking season and their fanbase stuck by him throughout. Arteta has spent £100m's and delivered sweet FA, still very well backed. Guardiola and the Sheikhs can leave when they want, even if they have a few more seasons like this year, no one will gun for them. Those fanbases are maybe complex, we are very easy to understand, we want it all and will be there when that is happening, and kick off when it isn't.
-
Yep certainly a point to consider. But for now it seems the people have spoken, action has been taken and the plane will be in the sky.
-
Omg it will clearly heavily backfire hugely on a PR level. Our fans will be the laughing stock of the footballing world the day after, spoiled, entitled etc. That's why no one should be a wokey snowflake about this, just ignore it. Knowing our fans however they will get very offended at the backlash and come out endlessly justifying the banner when there is no need to.

I like 'Rotten From TOP to Bottom' tbf. Get it sorted and I will also put in after this message is done at the Liverpool match
-
There's about 1000000 messages where he's said what the final message is, go with it or don't donate. By your logic is anything ever final and is everything reversible? Brings up some huge spiritual questions for sure.
-
Also the bloke's been pretty clear the message is KING POWER OUT so all these suggestions now are totally pointless. Might as well waste your time on this forum by throwing a few bombs in the general chat section rather than coming up with plane messages you know are not going to be used.
-
Hahahah MOVED by the campaign!!! There are downsides of co-pilot doing all of your admin Asa. Also how funny is the most recent donation coming from Lewis is GAY. This message will obviously prompt a lot of twitter/sky sports/media/talksport backlash. Would suggest no one gets emotional, woke and/or snowflakey, just go with it.

Only other thing would be it'd be worth booking a cheapo hotel or at least an arrivals lounge at the airport. The power of a shower, clean toilet, brushing your teeth and new set of underwear is unparalleled on these short stops

Does this still stand for Glasgow, and does anyone have any other tips pls?

Yeh no idea what the faff would be. I went to Florida a few years back and did half a day stopover in Toronto. There is no faff. It’s a diff visa and ensure your luggage is marked as transit so you don’t have to collect and check it in again. Take advantage of the privileges our British passports give us, cheap/easy visas and freedom of movement around the world. We have no faff with it in our pockets.
-
Yeh good point. Maybe I’m displaying recency bias with those clubs. Its meant to be a piece of history logically, but that’s not reality. I hear far more complaints about our missed 4th place finishes than compliments about our fa cup win. Or maybe I’m just surrounded by very miserable people and most city fans are like you and realistic
-
My argument is Crystal clear. Winning trophies does not make football fans happy for anything longer than a few months. The average net happiness level of palace, Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth fans is prob higher than ours and West Ham’s over the last 10 years. Given we were miserable 6 months after winning the league and we’ve been miserable for at least 3 years and counting I’m not saying anything shocking. I’m not saying I’d swap to be them. No need to read anything more into what I’m saying than what I’m saying.
-
I’m with you! I salute you. But the reality is a few months after the fa cup and charity shield was lifted the stadium was mainly Rodgers based rage. Just checked and Chelsea home, 3-0 defeat, was nov 2021 and everyone seemed to hate him then. Sunderland away was dec 2016 and most I spoke to after that game wanted ranieri out. Our trophies did NOT bring on years of joy, whatever anyone with rose tinted specs and nostalgia says
-
You are so detached from the average fan I see/overhear. You think we took advantage of our golden years and cemented our legacy?! Christ
-
Yeh i agree with you. I still go to city and dare say it, enjoy it too. I genuinely completed it in 2016 so now it’s just a pass time and not worthy of getting all worked up about. But that’s not the mass market view as proven at matches. Everyone is so miserable. We wanted ranieri out a few months after we lifted the trophy lol. The iron forced moyes out a year after they were ‘soooooo haaaappppy’ about the conference league. I bet this time next year Howe will be getting panned by the Geordies and not one of them will be talking about yday. Football fans want it all and are evidentially not happy with a trophy lift now n then
