Putting Your £ Where Your Mouth Is
grobyfox1990 replied to The Year Of The Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I used to work as Forest Hill when I was 15ish! But no never played golf. I’ve gone on these corporate golf days (sat at the bar in my case…) in Scotland and it’s striking how much of a b1tch they think employed people are -

The problem is golf is really sh1t. Also you’ll never be accepted on any reputable golf course. Otherwise agree -
If But we have a property 'market,' estate agents, complex financial products in order to live in them, completely bespoke pricing, no min/max levels for rentals etc etc. Homes are financial products. There should be no emotion buying/selling them if you are vaguely financially literate.

Dunno, I think she has completely lost her mind. She’s a national humiliation and abject failure, that will have a profound effect on anyone’s mental state

The yanks believing deranged Liz Truss speaks for British people. She is utterly and genuinely crackers, I no longer think it's a grift. I think the lettuce saga pushed her mind over the edge. Yeh defo objective head, a forever home is a great concept when you're selling or even better letting to a tenant, but the cold reality is a home is just a collateralised asset. Circumstances and life change so the concept of a forever home is not realistic or prudent.

Some very nice keg pints from a brewery called track. Based in the northwest. Been ages since I’ve had a row of craft ipas since that fad died down

We're not though, unless we organise ourselves like we do in Germany. The trust have got c.£38k in reserves so that's a good start in buying the club

Who is 'Dan' who broke the internet with his Twitter post, on this forum? Very eloquent post following a clear and logical timeline, not some emotional and garbled 'shambles mate clubs gone' type post. Well done, we need more Dan's.

When you travel, leave passport in hotel or take with you?

A cloth bag whilst you're out and about is v different to a shell suitcase in a locked room within a CCTV'd hotel tho -

Slashing a suitcase and stealing its contents prob more obvious than ransacking a safe. You're never totally covered I guess -
Yep I travel to the US at least every two years and post-covid costs have escalated, not only that the baseline tip % has soared. In 2018 you're spend $50 in a bar with a baseline of 10%, you're now seemingly at $80 with a baseline of 25% for the same output. After the World cup next year I might do a North Korea tour and give up my right to the ESTA for a decade. Risky though as there is always a reason to travel to the US.

Lock it in my suitcase with my own lock. I never use hotel safes as the staff invariably have a master key -
Cheers, no interest in golf but seems a decent day out. Is the masters the one in Augusta in the USA? Apparently iconic, our client takes some of us but I’d still have to cover accommodation and apparently it’s v pricey so I leave it to the golf lovers at work. Looks beautiful tho, sure you’ll love it

Belfast is fun, doesn't feel like Ireland or the UK, enough to keep you occupied. I'm staying there in July as going to the Open golf tournament in Portrush.

London in the summer is a totally different beast. Few old fashioned's on Madison rooftop after work before going to some world class (probably free) culture in a park followed by a Michelin star dinner all before it gets dark surrounded by young people with energy before they've had all the life sucked out of them. What's not to like.

You think we are on the cusp of furiosa now!? AI is going to solve a lot of problems and find efficiencies, renewable energy sources are steaming ahead, James Webb has made insane discoveries to aid human life, proportion of people living in extreme poverty continues to go down, people dying in conflicts is still relatively low historically, we are still working and physically active at an age where most people were long dead about 100 years ago as life expectancy rises, child mortality rate has fallen off a cliff, hunger rates are going down. Hell, even if you're fat and can't be bothered to take responsibility for your own health, there's an injection for that!!! I get the popular narrative is to make everyone sad and depressed because it is so phenomenally profitable, but that's not the whole truth. Granted you can prob counter my good points about the world with loads of bad points....
