  1. Haha yes now you've quoted me I see your username, sorry for the repetition. I always think you come across really well, I cannot imagine you'd find it difficult creating a network and some quality job opportunities. Does not have to be forced, all of my 'business development' is talking about football, holidays, yoga and beer. If the person is not interested in said hobbies, I move on.
  2. No idea what industry, experience level or background you are in, but do you have uni contacts? Industry, ex-colleagues, general alumni who you can ask for jobs? Maybe I am way off the mark and so entrenched in my own industry but it's hard to imagine people reading applications forms these days.
  3. Lol one practice session in. Get rid. I love city fans
  4. Counting units has been great for me. No more 2 or 3 more whilst we’re here, as I try to keep below 14 units a week and feel very guilty when I don’t. It’s reduced daytime drinking as well because I don’t want to use up my allowance too early. Obvs life is for living so I will go all out 5-6 times a year. I have a complete and solidified mental block to weekday drinking now, cannot do it.
  5. Shouldn’t be playing pointless games to increase finances at a minuscule level for non league clubs, when there is so much money in the game. Just give them the money. I heard the cray valley manager saying they’ve made something like £50k from this whole run. Tiny sums, not even peanuts, it’s what an average PL player earns in a few days
  6. No, Leicestershire. I meant there’ll be no 3pm game to watch now so try and take in a local game before watching city in the evening
  7. That sounds like a brilliant trip, well done! Now city kick off at 7.45pm on Boxing Day, would you recommend anywhere local for a 3pm game on the day? You clearly know your biscuits
  8. Will defo be asking you for PROPER Dortmund recommendations
  9. I get the whole ‘each to their own’ argument but I find this view unfathomable. I thought we were excellent at boro, they barely got a kick in the second half, it was relentless city pressure. Enjoyed it so much I booked a flight to come back for Watford home next weekend. It’s so neat, tidy and effective. Watching winks at this level is a joy.
  10. How on earth can you think the football we played at boro was boring
  11. Wow! I did get lucky... I put my 'home' team as Netherlands which may have helped. I want to avoid England at all costs, still scarred by the level of trampiness I saw when I went to Amsterdam to watch them. There'll be loads of tickets available on resale, keep an eye out for that.
  12. Thanks, just checked on my account, got Dortmund, Munich and Schalke. Delighted with that! Bucket list stadium in Dortmund finally being done (although shame it's not to see the yellow wall) and a trip to sample the wheat beers in Munich. Fantastic!
  13. Applied for loads, not heard anything yet. I heard you have to pick all or nothing for this tournament with the ballot results. Obvs hoping I get some, but I applied for >£5k worth...
  14. Hahahahaha that’s brilliant. And so true!! But for the sake of everyone’s else’s pleasure pls remove the swearing and abuse so this post doesn’t get removed or you get banned. Some dude got banned for saying cancer on here. The world needs to see this post!!
  15. Agreed, Eurostar is a pleasure. They often have a sale. Europeans have it so good with affordable, reliable long distance rail and bus travel
  16. Loved Tirana (Albania) and Lake Orhid (Macedonia) when we went last year, presuming City would get to the conference final which they obvs never did. It's a much cheaper and MUCH better Italy. Baffles me why anyone would pay their own money to go to Italy anymore.
  17. They are some seriously good pictures. From a phone? Weirdly I can see your username and can recall you having done some very cool European weekend trips last year. Keep the reviews coming if you're still doing them, which I hope you are for my own inspiration!!
  18. Yes, cheap and fun. Easy weekend trip. Food is fantastic, good chilled vibe to the city, does not seem like the rest of overbearing anxiety-ridden Europe. Last time I was there (2018) remember loads of bars doing 3 300ml beers for 2 Euros.
  19. |s it more!!?!?! Or less...
  20. Yeh, dogs are class. Would never have one as I’d rather spend a grand or so a year on wholesome pursuits like holidays, beer and football. Also quite sad how we’ve decimated a hunter wolf breed into a cuddly animal specifically bred for Instagram likes. But still, dogs are class. Thought everyone knew this
  21. They got absolutely caned for 90 mins and won it with a 83rd minute screamer. If similar happened at the KP against a 'top' side, we'd be as loud. Reference Spurs and Wolves at home last season. Also, if there was a light show and loud 90s disco music after a win at the KP, 90% of the inhabitants of this parish would spontaneously combust in anger.
  22. Surely all those miserable souls lamenting modern football can’t argue about this. High quality football played by supreme athletes at a ferocious pace, completely committed all out entertainment
  23. Did Cambodia and Vietnam as a 10-dayer and it was good. But yeh, to experience it you need time. My 57 year old colleague has sold his house and all his possessions and is travelling for the foreseeable with his wife, starting in Vietnam for 3 months. Would love to have that spirit at that age, and not be just another office bore stinking life out
  24. A) not sure what it is, a diuretic is what I’m currently thinking b) swatters carr Middlesbrough. With a side of unlimited exposed human flesh
  25. Hahah weirdly I’ve just browsed the thread and thought the same. Maybe I’ve enjoyed the £2.55 sticky toffee stouts a little too much. I’m pretty sure I’ve just seen us batter a top champo side away and been on the end of a late sucker punch. AKA the reason we love and hate this sport. But I’ll watch the highlights tomorrow and reconsider
