Depending on the points deduction there’s no reason imo why shouldn’t be in the top 6 minimum. I know we have to get rid of some of the rubbish we’ve got but the majority of this league is made up of shit teams with the exception of 5 or 6 teams.

This seems very similar to the season after we won the premiership. Had Hull away first game and they had a load of injuries and very little incoming players. Everyone thought it would be a formality that we’d win that game. We lost 2-1.

I like the sound of that rather than Daka or Ayew starting up front. I don’t think Bilal will stay so can see Alves in that role.

Give it a few months and you’ll be wanting him as well. Absolute nonsense that a room is covered with posters of him. It’s the whole house.

Winks is too good for the championship but not good enough for the premiership.

My worry is with Ayew scoring 2 now in pre season he’ll be starting against Sheffield Wednesday. We desperately need a forward.

He’s not the player he was. If we get anywhere near 9m we’ve done well.

There’s no confidence in who they appoint. Unlike other clubs with clear plans it’s all very reactive rather than being proactive. They clearly put the feelers out about Martin before the season finished. Then did the same with O’Neil and Wilder holding talks apparently. They then look at fan reaction and go from there. It’s no way to run a football club. I think Cifuentes is a good appointment but how they get to having him in charge is such a roll the dice and let’s see if he’ll do well. Then throw in the apparent talks with managers with no experience in this country Kovac when Cooper went and Bo Svensson in recent weeks. It just smacks of they’ll do to appease the fans.

I think he’s better or certainly worth trying in the centre of a back 3. I’m pretty sure that’s where he played at wolves. I just don’t think we’ll play that system here. Would be interesting to see how he did with Nelson and Okoli either side of him.

I’m not reading anything into one training session. Ruud looked like he knew what he was doing in his training sessions and he didn’t have a clue. I’m more confident in this guy but that’s not saying a great deal. I’m cautiously optimistic with Cifuentes.

I’d find it very funny if he went Palace or Spurs just to piss off Forest even more.

For a relatively young manager he’s got a fair bit of experience albeit abroad. He’s also had a season and a bit in the championship. Better imo than some of the others we were apparently looking at. I’m certainly willing to give him a chance.

My only concern with Ricardo is his fitness levels. Seems to spend more time injured than fit recently.

Nelson has a season behind him in the championship and got glowing praise from Rowett at Oxford. To me it’s a no brainer. So expect it to be Ayew.

I’m not sure with Winks. Seems to believe he’s better than he actually is. Nelson for me. Won’t mean anything but King gave him the armband in the pre season game against Peterborough.

Seeing as Cifuentes likes to play and develop young players I’d like to see Nelson given the captaincy. Anyone else who should be in the running for it? Nobody really stands out. Possibly Ricardo.
