  1. I'm still a fan of Cooper and this might sound like an excuse for him but isn't meant to be - how much do you think being a team that sets up to stop the other team affects going into games like last night? I think back to Martin O'Neil's games against Hereford where I think it was 0-0 and the replay took extra time. It's like when you suddenly have to switch the mindset from being defensive to suddenly being on front foot they find it a lot more difficult. Despite opposition being a lot weaker.
  2. Do find it really interesting hearing about eras I can remember so well. That summer at school in Nottingham I was absolutely buzzing with all the signings and laughing at Forest in League one. We had come off years of barely signing anyone so it was like we finally had money and were going places. Sadly it was down. One thing I'd love to know, because I've heard Holloway say exactly the same about Milan as Allen does, is did he change his ways when Pearson came in? He must have done. All those Pearson signings were nothing like the ones Milan made. For the record though, I don't think Allen was right either. He was working under ridiculous conditions but that Blackpool game was horrendous and I seen the Watford game as more of a one off than any kind of turning point. We were awful in that called off Forest game. We had similar good results under Holloway but it was never a turning point. Just such a toxic environment that season. Thank god for Nigel Pearson.
  3. You'd think he was Ronaldinho if you just read Foxestalk
  4. It's a bit bizarre to call me out when all the points I said earlier have actually been more vindicated. Every single one who disagreed with me said no one cared about the outcome of tonight and look at this place!
  5. The response to that from everyone seemed to be it wouldn't matter if we lose this if we play a load of kids. Clearly this result proves it would have mattered. So you'd have had him play an even worse team and lose? That would be better?
  6. No Ward has before. Wolves away I think
  7. I'm so ****ing stressed watching this
  8. He's actually won us one before. He's decent at pens
  9. Least it can't be as bad as the Stockport or Gillingham games under Rodgers Can it?
  10. I wonder what Rudkin is thinking after giving Vesty a contract initially and getting no return on him, only for him to have a brilliant season and earn a renewal. Now exactly the same situation. Could only happen here.
  11. I hate how the term non negotiable has crept in to football terminology. It sounds like you're getting an aggressive quote for a conservatory.
  12. I do love a pre match thread against a lower team opposition. Always a chance for someone to assert the knowledge they have of our youth team based on the 17 minutes they watched of an u21 stream 8 months ago.
  13. If you genuinely hate Forest like I do then you'd want nothing more than for him to be a success here. It pissed every single Forest fan off that I know to the point they were having breakdowns about it all over social media. If he fails then they'll be the old agent Cooper bollocks coming out.
  14. I agree. I'm just not surprised we are in a situation where we can't give him playing time and no one from the Championship has come in for him. It does happen. Let's hope it works out.
  15. They wouldn't even win League One
  16. The Scottish Prem? You're proving my point really aren't you?
  17. You're right there's about 4 or 5 playing regularly in the Championship which makes up the 25 man squad which is exactly why none are playing for the u21s which is effectively where you play if you're lower Prem to high championship quality at best throughout your career. Add in the fact he's just come back from an ACL and it's absolutely no surprise to me that no one of the clubs required standard came in for him. I just think you all need a bit of perspective.
  18. You're right that he took a team that were actually looking like going down to League One under Houghton to the play offs and went up. I'm not sure though that you can call it "momentum" when the start they had to the following Premier League season was even worse than ours. He then completely turned that around and kept them up. It's very easy to spin whatever narrative you want. But calling it just momentum when they lost 4-0 to that Leicester team and went bottom of the league, is just simply not true.
  19. Think you're all massively overrating the England u20s too by the way. I could go into much more detail but Cadamarteri with 0 goals for Lincoln on loan plays for them. It doesn't quite mean walk into a Championship loan.
  20. It amazes me that this genuinely seems to be the main issue anyone has with him. I'm willing to bet if Corberan had exactly the same start as this, playing exactly the same way they'd be no thread like this. It'd all be about giving him time. That's where Enzo and the like of him as a coach pull a masterclass. They drill home in interviews that there is a process and method so it doesn't matter if you're playing like shit and only just beating teams you're miles better than. It's a process.
  21. I do usually agree with a lot you say on the podcast and you speak a lot better than a lot on here that's for sure. But I do think the Cooper take is way too much too early and you've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole with the Alves stuff. We put out a strong side for Tranmere. All over the pitch. I'm not of the opinion that these games are throwaways and clearly Cooper isn't either. You basically give Tranmere a free hit if you play 11 u23s. If Cooper has kept us up and is still doing the same in the cup next year then I'm fully on board with what you're saying. I just don't think he has the luxury of playing them and risking losing. It amplifies the chance of losing his job.
  22. Mate most clubs, like the one mentioned, won't shut up about something that happened 45 years ago. I think we're allowed to celebrate what's just happened. We have done more than most will ever do. I don't think us as fans celebrating that has any correlation whatsoever with the ineptitude of those running our club.
  23. I love how you hate them and the thing that might have convinced you to keep them is being bashed in the arm and annoyed for 90 minutes 😂
  24. I'm sure Nottingham has had a few more reasons to be jealous of us than some rapport with a manager
  25. You imagine how many players of the same stature there are as Will Alves. Then how many haven't had ACL injuries and are playing week in week out for their Academy team. It isn't a shock that clubs chose to go for others. We really need to stop this ridiculous hyperbole just because someone on a podcast wants him to play.
