Did they just refer to our sacred ground as a bowl? The evil mastermind behind the Walkers Bowl name is clearly still lurking in the shadows.

I couldn't believe it last year when they had the whole bank holiday to have the semi and put it on a Tuesday. Combined with the minimal coverage, they are absolutely trying to kill the format in favour of the hundred and more T20. On a side note, am I read that right that it's a month until the final?

For next season just book local friendlies against Notts County, Chesterfield, Burton and Northampton then a home game against a world class team. We have a bit of confidence built up and it doesn't matter the score in the last game. The fact we've struggled so badly against Ausburg and Lens has massively deflated everyone. After seeing how shit some teams played today we should be so buzzing for Monday.

If he keeps us up he deserves a ****ing top job after us. It'd be an incredible achievement. Much more of an achievement than winning promotion with our squad last season that's earned a manager a job at Chelsea. I think Cooper is a top manager but I certainly won't be judging him just by this season. It's the clowns above him that will be responsible for relegation.

Not heard Ian Stringer on Talksport since the court case. Reckon the verdict got him the boot there too?

That's the price of one spring roll at Susan Whelan's end of year buffet

A minutes applause right after 2 hours of King Power duty free commercials. -
He needs this job to be a success after what happened at Forest. The narrative around managers becomes attached very quickly. I think that's a big part of why he is reluctant to play what's perceived as negative football as well. If this is an absolute flop his next job is Championship at best and then he runs the risk of a Steve Bruce type career. Don't forget at Forest once he kept them up they were even touring him for England because of what he's done with the u17s. It's crazy how quickly the reputation of a manager can change.

I'd take the risk on both for what they cost rather than Okoli, a Brighton loan and no other signings though wouldn't you?

Did we even need to sustain top 6-8? What we did was absolutely enough to become a very strong Premier League team year after year. It didn't even take a particularly amazing Director of Football and set up. Just a good one. We had absolutely massive sales for a club of our size. That was then put into a completely unsustainable wage model. Without the absolutely horrendous transfers windows we had we would absolutely be ahead of Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest and the promoted sides but even those clubs are now more appealing. You're right that it would have taken too much to stay at top 6 level but don't accept what's happened as inevitable to be below those clubs. It's a disgrace what's happened.

I think Greaves, Szmodics and Phillips are really good signings.

Honestly how the **** did we go from where we were 2 years ago to being sat here envious of the signings Ipswich have made? I absolutely hate this attitude of some fans that we've always been a certain way as a club and to suggest we should be any better than teams like Ipswich is arrogant. Where we were had so much potential to be something big for a long sustained period. And we totally blew it.

I'm gonna faff then

Worst season in the clubs history incoming.

They ironically nearly did the double over Newcastle I think. -
For himself

I think he already has and fair enough he's been told to say a couple of things to toe the party line but this isn't the time to say everything's shit is it? We do actually need what he did today. Okay no one's buying it but if he doubled down and said we haven't got a chance on Monday then we really might as well give up now.
-
Cooper clearly been told to reign it in a bit. I admire that he's trying to give the place a lift but you kind of put all your cards on the table once you say what you did after Lens Steve.

I wish PSR rules would acknowledge that when no advantage has been made (in our case we hilariously worsened) that there shouldn't be an extra punishment. It makes no sense when we have suffered like we have to further punish. But again, I'm just defending the indefensible in a way. This is our club and I'll always defend that but the people running it don't deserve our support in any way.

I like to think no one will direct the reaction at Cooper. I found it quite sad that he was calling us a good club that people respect from the outside. Just shows how much Top, Rudkin and Susan have lived off the success of others in the past. If a big loss does happen then all the energy should go into blaming those at the top and stopping this extremely naive narrative from the media and other fans that we are a well run club. -
Maybe we should both be looking at care homes. With the season starting on Monday I will make sure mine don't have any sports channels.
-
Anyone who thinks this transfer window is inevitable because of PSR is just further enabling the shitshow running this club. Yes we are in an absolute shambles because of Top and Rudkin but they yet again had a chance to do something about it and failed. What was required was the a couple of real statement signings like the ones we have been after in the last week but right at the start of the window. That sets everything in motion. Gets the manager on board, the players on board, the fans excited. But no. I'm actually beginning to think they don't even have any expectation of signing anyone now and all these links are just PR. If Rudkin and eventually Top aren't gone from this club soon we are going to be in a worse position than before Mandaric came in.
