It's been drilled into the modern football fan, analyst and pundit that possession football is positive football. Our title win is still talked about like it was anti football or negative by some. It was quick, direct, exciting football. Yet everything about modern football despises that way of playing. We even made a conscious effort as a club to eradicate it from the top down after our title win. I'm all for Enzo's way of playing and I like him. But off the top of my head all our best goals this season have been when we've been on the counter. He almost looked angry we'd scored that way after the Birmingham game when he was asked about our counter. It's a very bizarre culture and philosophy to have. Like you say if we are going to have a game like Hull where it's 50/50 then you might as well have a different approach because the whole point of this philosophy works on us having more of the ball = less chance for other team to score. Which works great in this league when the finishing is so poor.

I get your point but I wouldn't call it a clear chance. I think his pace caused them issues more so than Cannon would have. I feel like Albrighton is needed if you're going to bring Cannon on.

Don't think we were ever going to carve out a chance for Cannon. I agreed with bringing Daka on but not much he can do with 5+ stoppage time.

Plus you can have a few poor shots straight at the goalkeeper and better, more meaningful chances that go wide. It isn't all on the on target stats. No one that watched the QPR game would say we were miles better, but the stats would suggest so.

Slightly off topic but why did they just randomly remove Gary Lineker's name from the Family Stand? Hardly a glowing tribute. Wouldn't put it past them to name a stand after Vardy and replace it with Pukka Pies a few years later.

I genuinely despair at you lot How can you turn on players like this? He wasn't great but ****ing hell. He's been class. He is having to play a full 90 for no apparent reason and he's having to do a lot of running because we haven't got the ball as much as we did earlier in the season. All for constructive criticism but some of these comments are genuinely absurd.

I would too, but I'm just wondering how much the possible points deduction might make it look like potentially going out on a downer with a relegation rather than going now with hopefully a promotion.

It is annoying though. I don't quite get why we are all saying we have no options. You could easily put Marcal and Mcateer out wide to chase down for 15 minutes. I don't see how that's worse than a nackered Mavididi and Fatawu . Fatawu is absolutely class defensively btw

I agree, but I think he's become too Grealish like and the referees have conversed about him to be honest. He doesn't help himself at times with ones he goes over for and claims.
