The thing is we should be creating 3-4 of those sorts of chances minimum in the second half. When you rely on making one of them last minute for your left back who's got like 1 or 2 career goals, then you don't deserve to win. This is where xg can give you a skewed vision of the match sometimes.

Thank god there's posts like this that actually get it. The complicit nature of some of these posts just remind me of not just why they have got away with this sponsor, but so much of what Top has done in the last few years. I don't think anyone here can say Daka has been anything other than a failure but I have seen enough of him to know what he can do when he's confident. Admittedly it's no good if that's a handful of times every 50 games or whatever the ratio is now. But when he come into the side under Enzo he was more effective than Vardy in opening the play and stretching the opposition for what Enzo required. The really worrying part is you can see teams start off by giving us the same kind of respect they gave us 2 years ago. Then when they're told to come at us a bit we don't have answers. This team isn't as good as that one a couple of years ago but it's still a squad that should never struggle like it is doing in prolonged periods. We should at least have enough in that bench to come on and see out a game.

We've looked better in every game Faes came on in. Birmingham for instance he was able to beat their press a number of times when he come on. Him and Vestegaard are much better on the ball than Okoli (who I also see people say should start alongside Nelson). I'm not going to argue about his mistakes. He's made plenty. But him and Vestegaard have won us a hell of a lot more than they've lost us at this level by playing the way they do. The Premier League is a whole different conversation but at this level they're the best we have and without looking I'd suggest their stats around playing out the back are some of the best in the league.

People have no idea how close we were to this scenario under Vichai by the way. Not saying he'd have done what Chansiri has but there was a massive sliding doors moment when we got Pearson and he sorted shit out. We could have been screwed more than I think anyone realises. What Vichai and Top did once we got in the Premier League in terms of the way they looked after players is unquestionable. But that is a lot easier to do when you're doing so well.
