He can buy Madders' West Bridgford mansion off him and live alongside all our other 25 millionaires hosing money into their economy.

Ricky usually doesn't post one of them mural things of himself if he's not playing. So I'm hopeful he's in.

I'd be interested if participation levels pick up too as a result.of the hundred. That's they key. I drive past the Oadby Wyggs ground occasionally and there is pitch after pitch of mini rugby being played. Rugby being, in my opinion, the nearest 'rival' participation sport. I'd say these last 25 years (since the ECB decided to destroy the game after the ashes with its no free to air deals) Rugby has motored past cricket in terms of both crowds and participation -

I guess the beeb are protecting their investment by promoting the shite. Yet it can't be worth it for them. Whatever they've paid (or been paid!) it isn't enough. Can you imagine them sidelining Wimbledon and force feeding us Padel instead? That's the rough equivalent If it wasn't for the BBC, the hundred would be dead on its arse already. If only the ECB had had the balls years ago to insist on free to air coverage for normal cricket. -
Whelan is Rudkin's line manager. Whelan is also ultimately responsible for PSR, the draconian ticketing policies, the insults to tradition with all blue kits, the money laundering sponsorship shambles and the deference to Thai tik tokers. She isn't fit for post.

I've heard sky commentators complaining earlier in the season about the absurd pause in the t20 tournament and today, the superb Somerset commentary were waxing lyrical about what a great day the 50 over game is for the average punter. It's hard to describe how detestable the ECB are (and have been for the last 20 years), hellbent on damaging its own sport. -

Well played County. An honourable defence of their title. Congrats to Somerset. Shame on the ECB that this super tournament at great grounds over the country isn't on even an iPlayer or sky. -

Whatever happens, right now this is an intriguing game. Cricket at its best -
I don't understand how Fab profits from it. How does engagement, ie people liking and replying to his tweets make him money? Does he sometimes promote like mens razors or whatever?

It's (for me) quite an interesting dichotomy. County's support is overwhelmingly City supporting. Barely a Tigers fan in the house. I think it's largely to do with the ground in a traditionally working class southern suburb of the city. Most cricket grounds seem to be in the posher districts; West Bridgford, Headingly, Edgbaston and as such hoover in that middle-class support. Whereas Leicestershire's middle-class align themselves with Tigers and totally ignore the cricket. I wonder how different County would be if their ground and history was based around Stoneygate/Knighton/Oadby? -
Who's this Morgan Rogers? Looks good. Never heard of him.

This is a club whose most famous player in its entire history is Josh Brownhill. I'd imagine glum is the default setting. -
The more things change, the more they stay the same

Alex McCarthy is only a league or two above Ward's level. Fcking useless

Watching Geordies v Saints this pm. Saints' team don't look much cop. Let's see how they do eh?

Haha, was just thinking, we get a six points deduction.. At least two or three teams.lose this weekend, including garbage like Ipswich. We win Monday Deficit is only -3 points. Which is like us losing opening day and Ipswich winning!

Worst season in the clubs history incoming.

Whole summer has been a shambles. Bearing in mind we've been prepping for the PL since around November and known KDH was going since January. But but, points deduction aside, you could just about make a case for 13 or so existing players to make a fist of it.. It's not.much consolation, but a combined Luton, Burnley and Sheffield Utd 'dream.team' xi of last season would be still miles off what we can field this season. And that's about as much solace as I can take right now. -

Yup, it's all rigged against making the tournament a success but, tbh, County could use their socials more and earlier in the week, canvassed opinion for demand for coach/es down there if we were to play there. Pop up a weather forecast for Sunday. Include a cuppa and a bacon roll on the bus. Match ticket included. Out at 5.30am and back for midnight. Run the whole thing at break even. See if 50-100 punters fancy it. County is small enough, communal enough to engage with its.followers in a very informal, almost non league way. -

Pity the county aren't running a bus or two, leaving at, say 5.30am Be lovely to have 100 down there making a bit of racket -

He was our player of the season last year. And he's cocky. His lack of pace is hardly new. Let him deal with that in his own way. -
