Poor TV pundits with sh#te opinions
Guesty replied to willie-bell-in-rothley's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's getting to the point where I'd be quite happy for Shakespeare and the players to start boycotting interviews now (still do Radio Leicester and put stuff on their own channel for us). If they contractually have to be there - just coming out with some generic answer to every question - or just a yes or no with no elaboration. I can accept these attention-seeking pundits say outlandish things (even though I can't stand hypocrisy and most of the most vocal clowns have been guilty of doing half of the stuff they're virtue signalling about). But when the BBC, SKY and BT Sport start tweeting the personal insults with the headlines, I think the club have to draw a line; if we were one of the 'top 4' you know they wouldn't be doing that. I'd love to get really far in the Champions League just so we could do no interviews and really piss BT Sport and everyone else off. -
Interview with sports psychologist who was sacked by Ranieri
Guesty replied to brucey's topic in Leicester City Forum
Very interesting. You have to imagine he had very personal conversations with some players and they would have had a unique bond. If people like him were got rid of (especially in the fashion he says happened to him) it would cause resentment. -
Rotherham & other City/Town child abuse scandals
Guesty replied to MC Prussian's topic in General Chat
At least that bloke who sounds like he had quite a senior position during a lot of it and is refusing to resign from his job as Police Commissioner has been told by Labour he's going to be suspended from the party unless he resigns. I'm not sure if it's just political PR and in reality achieves nothing mind you. -
Whenever I watch Spanish football (which admittedly isn't loads) the pundit (think his name might be Gerry Armstrong?) always comes across a bit of an idiot.

Wouldn't surprise me if he'd blown all his money either. When you watch the 24/7's he leads a stupidly extravagant lifestyle with a bunch of hangers-on to massage his ego. But he has made a stupidly extravagant amount of money. There's a statistic that something like 80% of NFL & 60% NBA players are bankrupt 5 years after their career ends. All to do with the bling bling rapster lifestyle they try to emulate. I hope Mayweather is bankrupt - I can't stand the bloke (as if it wasn't obvious).

It just annoys me cause if he wasn't British he wouldn't get a look in. If he was a yank with a fairly ordinary career and was 2-2 in his last 4 fights he wouldn't be anywhere near this. They just know he will bring in British pay-per view money and he's going to lose. That's the only reason Mayweather will fight him. I remember the days when I used to look forward to boxing fights. Now it's Mayweather using fighters as punching bags and boxing 'experts' (on the TV, Twitter, etc) looking for reasons to make his next opponent look like he might possibly make it an interesting fight. Then when Mayweather schools them they make out like he's amazing. If he'd fought Pacquiao i'd be less annoyed at things like this. It won't be a one round knockout cause Mayweathers too smart for that - unless this is his swansong. In 20/30 years time Mayweather will be laughing at us saying he handpicked his opponents and we all paid to watch it making him rich - unless you're smart and watch it on boxing guru. It's why I prefer the UFC now; the best fighters fight each other and can't duck the most dangerous fighters.

Khan v Mayweather what a ****ing joke. Just when I thought the sport couldn't become more of a joke. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-2441733/Amir-Khan-fight-Floyd-Mayweather-Las-Vegas-year.html

Not from Glenfield or in your year so I doubt you'd know him.

I went to my mates wedding and our friend had to do his best man speech. Absolutely destroyed him and the bride. Talked about the time the groom told us how they'd tried anal sex and failed. Also talked about the time they got caught shagging in the disabled toilets at Mosh and thrown out by a bouncer. Those were the most memorable highlights but there was other stuff. We found it hilarious. The brides father was so angry he left the wedding because he wanted to fight the best man and didn't come back for a full 8 hours later. Most of the brides family were less than pleased and her 8 year old daughter had a lot of questions for mummy after it was over.

A man's late on the way to work and is leaving a voicemail to his boss when he witnesses a car crash - hilarity ensues. Just realised it's a little old so you might have heard it before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN8YQVM1GQI

Been abandoned now.

Used to hate Audley. Now I'm at the point where I pity him and begrudging start respecting him a little for the fact he knows he's shit yet keeps stepping in the ring and getting knocked out knowing all the media will lap it up.
-
Pity his pride wouldn't let him take an easier fighter or fewer rounds. He was winning early but tired later in the fight. I'd hoped he'd have improved his defence but he hadn't - far to easy to hit. Should have set his shots up better with a jab. Just flew in with some punches and missed by miles. Was suprised when he didn't get up - I think he knew then he wasn't anywhere near what he used to be and had the answers he was looking for so it wasn't worth getting up. Glad he retired, it was obvious if he won the Malignaggi fight was next. But it's just not worth it. Hope in some way this helped him battle his demons. Like someone else said, he needs to find something else to do with his life, probably away from boxing. I think just being a promoter is like putting a plaster over a gaping wound.

I'd get some Sennheiser's - or at least try some. They made such a difference.

I wasn't really talking about the first guy - but he kept contradicting himself. First he was saying we need to be more aggresive tackling then we shouldn't be tackling. To begin with Stringer and Young tried to clarify what he meant and he was rude and telling them they were wrong, when I think all they wanted to do was understand what he meant. Then I'll agree Stringer was putting words in his mouth but I think he got fed up of the patronising tone the bloke was taking. I agreed with his point about midfield, but he made so many contradictory points it was hard to keep up and not find something to agree with. I just think both took a rude patronising tone and then Stringer did as well - he's only human. I not entirely defending Stringer, he could have been more professional - the 'see ya' was uncalled for. But if you're gonna phone up and Stringer disagrees or plays devils advocate then you chuck a strop instead of calmly trying to put your point across I don't really have any sympathy.
-
I don't really blame Stringer for getting annoyed. Maybe he should just have faded him down then brought him back. But if your gonna rant down the phone, tell someone there wrong then keep ranting as there trying to reply you can't be suprised if you're gonna get cut-off. If he'd been quiet and respectful and let Stringer reply and actually had a conversation with him he'd have got his point across. Considering some of the people that go on there it's suprising it hasn't happened sooner. I'd be cutting people off left, right and center.
-
Stringer talking some sense. I saw his face on TV and he looked over when he was subbed. His head went down you could see he'd heard them but still after a second clapped over to the away section regardless. Gotta give him respect for that; even though he was poor. Never understand fans that try and demotivate the team by turning on them whilst they're playing.
-
All that accountant really said was we're in exactly the same boat as most other championship clubs; in fact some are worse off. Whilst it doesn't sound good it wouldn't matter who owned us; we'd still be in the same situation. Thats just the way football clubs are run nowadays.
-
Agree with this. Plus the melbourne one is a good shout as its fairly simple for everyone else to pick up and easier for the family stand to get involved if its simple and involves clapping or scarf waving.
-
I stood through the match thinking, bet that bloke wished he'd never started that thread on foxestalk. Was always a recipe for disaster. Not even I thought he'd be that poor tho.

I normally listen for a laugh and was worried tonight was just gonna be dreadful. If you do this at least I'll laugh at one point.
