  1. Not too fussed, I think he’s declined massively since his injury, and he’s horrific at defending, so will suit Leeds down to the ground. Can we just spend some money please once he goes?
  2. He’s naturally right footed, but can play either comfortably.
  3. Aluko is quality, surprised he hasn’t been given a go yet, he would have done a better job than Hamza the other night. Hes a pure athlete too which helps.
  4. Chelsea are Chelsea. I can’t see Newcastle taking that risk, especially when his clause expiring soon, why would a team pay the £30m when they can wait and try a low ball last minute job? Just thinking from the buyers perspective.

    Daka

If you look at his time in Austria, with the exception of a few, most of his goals come within the penalty area, or balls in behind for him to run onto. Daka in the PL winning side would bag double figures for me, because those types of chances were being presented, which Vardy ate up. But, we just don’t play in a way that gets that out of Daka…. He’s being asked to drop deep and help link up the play, which he just can’t do, so then that taken him away from his strengths. He’s the type of player who needs confidence, so when you’re asking him to perform a role he isn’t comfortable with, and it isn’t going well, he will gradually lose confidence, and look like he’s Bambi on ice 90% of the time. If Marti was willing to sacrifice Dake dropping in, and make him play purely off the shoulder then he may get more joy, but at the moment his confidence is ruined and we’ve no place for a player of Daka very specific skillset. Which is incredible, considering we’ve got three of the most creative attacking mids on the league. I want to see a bit of a shift from Marti, perhaps he needs to slightly adapt the style to suit Daka, but having said that, we can’t afford to play Daka into form.
  6. What is he like? I’ve not really paid much attention to him?
  7. Is he? Who’s paying the £30m for a player who played in one of the worst PL teams ever? Not happening. Once his clause expires, then teams will probably make a move, but we will price them out.
  8. Everyone said not a chance when we first got relegated in Rodgers last season with us. There’s that much of a bad culture. And lack of fight and commitment that I’m inclined to say yes, we could.
  9. Palace ain’t paying £30m of the kings for Bilal
  10. Why are people finding Winks lacking enthusiasm? The bloke had a major fall out with Ruud last season, thus probably wanting to leave…..
  11. This post makes you sick…… this is Sunderland……. Whose best achievement in the last decade is a weird Netflix documentary, and look at us now? From premier league champions, to a million miles away from the likes of Sunderland in a decade. King power out.
  12. Thought he was showing signs of something, but sweet baby Jesus he was ****ing abysmal yesterday. Another one for the diff pile.
  13. This is going to be our biggest problem this season. Everyone else will want it more than most of our lads will.
  14. Just what we need, another slow ass defender!
  15. They’re a championship vets team. Absolute dog muck. They will still manage to put three past us though.
  16. Can’t wait to be 2-0 down in ten minutes…… going to be great.
  17. Problem with this is, Daka is ****ing hopeless. He also doesn’t have an ounce of aggression in him. He will get bullied at places like Preston. Unfortunately, Ayew has to start, because he won’t get bullied and can link the play. It’s all well and good being fast and be able to press, but we would end up being more of a threat to ourselves in possession with Daka playing, because he loses every header, every 50/50 duel, and remarkably because of his pace, every foot race. Daka really can only come on later into the match when the opposition grow tired, that’s when he had an impact.
  18. Above all you need attitude. It doesn’t matter what ability you have at any level, if you’ve not got a good attitude, then you’re in trouble .
  19. We’ve been leaderless since Kasper left. He set the standards, and he didn’t let them drop. We had some whoopsie when he was here of course, but he was always vocal no matter what. For me, he was the last part of the system that was established under Nigel, once he left that was it…. Even Vardy didn’t have the same leadership qualities as Kasper, we’ve never replaced his character, he wouldn’t have stood for the shit we’re seeing in that dressing room now. But then there’s a complete lack of leadership from the top of the club, Top’s proven he’s a petulant child, not a leader. As I’ve said, we are at the stage where nothing changes unless it changes. KP is done here.
  20. Yann’s all day.
  21. We’re still an attractive proposition, regardless of our situation, more astute business personnel Ala, Chelsea, Newcastle etc, would come up with creative (probably not moral, but is football moral now) ways to clear the decks and create “revenue”. KP simply don’t have that sort of financial pull, when you compare them to some owners out there, they’re fairly modest. Just our recent history alone would be a major factor, because we’ve still got marketability….. If we were out up for sale, when we would probably go fairly easy, but, what we want, is for a consortium to approach us, because this would potentially signal their intent… it wouldn’t surprise me if we have been approached already, or Top has at least, but just doesn’t want to sell the club.
  22. I agree, I made this point in the Sheff weds thread, yes we’ve got some players we don’t like, but my point is how does booing individual players help the younger players? Imagine how this could impact the likes of Nelson, Monga and Page? Imagine if eventually Monga stops taking people on through fear of being criticised? Or Nelson starts carrying on like that first half? Booing whereas, it may be a cathartic release, I don’t think is remotely productive… and I’m not saying this because I’m a fan of Faes, I’m saying this because as a whole we become part of the cultural problem. There’s nothing wrong with taking the frustrations out on the board because this is their fault. Yes some players have contributed to their demise, but rather than boo them, don’t clap them…. Don’t celebrate the goal, but booing can have a wider impact on the players we actually like. We need to try and create a positive atmosphere when the whistle is blown, because ultimately, it is us who suffer, we’re paying out money, why sit there and make it even more toxic?
  23. What I like about him is maturity, he has it behind his years. Very comfortable on the pitch. Both he and Monga will eventually be starting I think.
  24. Agreed. Ability isn’t an issue. On paper, we’ve got one of the strongest teams in the league. But as Clough said, football isn’t played on paper. The problem we’ve got is cultural. We are toxic, and that just won’t change until King Power are gone, and we have competent owners. Reading, and Sheffield Wednesday should act as a warning sign for all of us, we need them out, it’s verging on no return already…..
  25. He was a standout on Oxfords side last season, so how can he not be ready? I think he just had a bad day, but it’s no coincidence he drastically improved when Winks came on. It’s that midfield, Soumare and Skipp offer nothing at all, and they present a huge weakness, they expose those centre back two.
