I respectfully disagree with you. The bottom half of the premier league is possibly as bad as it’s ever been. There’s some disgusting teams down there. Ipswich are already down, especially if McKenna does leave, Forest are in trouble, neither Leeds or Southampton will be any good whoever comes up. Brentford will struggle, Bournemouth will struggle and Fulham will struggle in my opinion. I actually think we’re capable of finishing a comfortable 12-15th even with a points deduction. We’re already better than Bournemouth, Brentford, Forest, Ipswich and Leeds or Southampton in my opinion…… the right appointment and and some clever signings we will be set.
-
Was it catastrophic for both Forest and Everton? It can be a max of 8, but is likely to be six….. that’s not the end of the world.
-
The biggest issue with us is there will be no succession plan. And I imagine the succession plan will be relentlessly chase Potter until a week before the season and ultimately end up with Parker.
-
I don’t think it will. Everton and Forest have proved that you don’t need to panic. We don’t need to panic, about it or worry about it…. It’s likely to be a max of 8, which probably won’t come until the winter, and we could, could, be in an healthy position by then so it doesn’t have too much of an impact on the season. So I don’t think it would, provided to can build the squad deal with it. Managers like challenges, good managers do even more so. For example a Potter, may see a good stint here as an opportunity to rebuild his career.
-
I just can’t see it being true….. it would truly be a sensational risky move….
-
Moyes as uninspiring as it may be, would be a steady choice. But I know a lot of people scoff at the idea, but Potter would be top of my list. I think he is equally as safe a pair of hands as Moyes, and I think would match what the board want in terms of a style of play.
-
I think you’re right. I imagine Potch has asked for total control of all things Football and they’ve essentially told him to bollocks. So he’s left.
-
The mind boggles it really does……. So it appears genuine? Potch was barely given a chance, the Chelsea mafia signed a bunch of players he didn’t want, and when he finally gets them going they sack him? Any young manager hoping to make their way in the game would avoid them at all costs. Potter was hung out to dry by them, and neither Maresca or McKenna would fair any better. like a few have said, provided we get a decent replacement in, I’d be indifferent towards Enzo leaving….. I’ve still got reservations about him and his style, and I’m not wholly convinced if he says here he will last…. Naturally I’d rince Chelsea financially for him if they chose to come in for him, but there’s better options out there than Enzo in my opinion. But I think the fact that a lot of fans are ambivalent towards him leaving should act as a huge warning sign.

Villa at home.
-
It’s a move that benefited all parties I think. He contributed for us positively at times, and has probably developed his game. Good attitude, wish him all the best!
-
This, it was just a Stan Collymore goal. Closely followed by Nalis for me.
-
Incredible how his career has gone. He just hasn’t kicked on at all.
-
With the pace we’ve got out wide, and then if we recruit a new attacking midfielders, a profile like Pinamonti would be ideal. We wouldn’t need a striker with bundles of pace, someone who can lead the line like you say would be more beneficial I think. Great shout.
-
I think he is a billion miles off PL standard, so unsure as to why he’s being linked to PL sides….. unless I’m not seeing something others are.
-
I’m sure Brighton will come sniffing around Maresca now.
-
Did he wear a bib? He tends to miss the target a lot…….
-
It’s that typical signing that newly promoted sides tend to try and do, poach the apparent best player in the league? Absolutely not, he’s far from it. It’s poor value for money, no resale value and he’s likely to not succeed. There’s plenty of younger players out there we should be looking at who will be cheaper, have a resale value, and would be better risk v reward. This is a Leeds United type signing, let someone else take the punt and take or business elsewhere. If w sign him, it will prove the board have learnt nothing.
-
But that 37 year old is of the best in premier league history. This lad has had one decent season……. It’s a none starter and hopefully a load of rubbish. This would be a horrible signing.
-
Instead of wasting time with this, we should be looking at Norman Bassette.
-
Absolutely not. 29, only one good season to his name, unless it’s for peanuts I’m not interested. Would be a completely stupid signing for £20m……. It’s rarely ever worked before when this kind of risk is taken.

Enzo and Vards yes, but Vesty absolutely not. It would be a colossal error to have him anywhere near the squad next season. -
“Hermansen, Hermansen dad dadadadadadada” To the tune of the chorus from “I’m gonna be (500 miles).

I’ve asked some distant relatives if they would, heard nothing back. Nan has sponsored £5.00 though, bless her.

I like Jobe Bellingham. In a better side he could develop nicely. He’s got size and stature like his brother, and I thought he had a decent touch too. He’s be great in the high 8 role. I don’t think Sunderland are in any position to haggle, and I do feel he will be on high demand this summer. The other link that intrigues me is, Hlozek on loan…… probably a completely stupid link, but the lad could be a beast. Big, quick, strong has shown promise of being a good finisher. The kind of coup were capable of pulling off, but do the finances allow such a deal?
